I don't find John Doe attractive at all.🤷

And Tom Price isn't nearly as repulsive as some people make him out to be.

Honestly, I barely even notice when a politician is good-looking.🤣

My cycles have always been super predictable—never missed a beat until now.😢

Usually, I’m done bleeding in three days, but this time it’s day five and it just won't quit.

Any idea what's going on?

Did your psychiatrist not lay out exactly what she expects from you?🤷
I find it hard to believe she’d actually want you bad-mouthing him right to his face.

Honestly, I think you should just give his parents a heads-up—what they decide to do with that info is on them. You can't carry the weight of his choices on your shoulders.
Issues with my mom. in Psychology & Therapy ·
So here’s my situation.😁
My old lady is super possessive—she just can't wrap her head around the fact that I've been an adult for thirty years and deserve to live my own life. I haven't actually lived under her roof in ages, but now that I'm planning to move abroad, she’s acting like I have to stay put in the States.
I mean, how do some people just not get that this is *my* life we're talking about?😕
I'm just done dealing with the drama. A buddy of mine suggested I should just pack up, move, and let her find out after the fact.🤣

The toxic dynamic between my mom, my cat, and me. in Psychology & Therapy ·
It doesn’t really matter if they want a cat around the house or not—you can phrase it nicer, sure. But honestly? That kind of reaction tells you everything you need to know about their character.

...she went wild on the kitten, ripped the pad right up, and then the whole thing just slid onto the floor while she was sleeping...
All the praying in the world isn't going to help her now.☕
When is "being polite" just too much? in Psychology ·
Noah Sanders4 said:People who are overly open, chatty, or just way too polite right out of the gate usually have this massive urge to be liked. It’s weird—if you actually tell them you aren't a fan of how nice they're being, they’ll probably just double down and become even more aggressively friendly.

Deep down, even if you won't admit it, you kind of love those people because they make you feel better about yourselves,
or maybe you just wish you had that kind of social battery yourself..

Personally, I always go with the extra polite ones. This world is full of shady characters, so even if they're just playing a part, they're like a little bit of sunlight in the dark. That's their effort to make, not mine..

Maybe you just fall into that group that loves being fed sweet, little lies.🤷
There are plenty of people like that.

Jose Carter2 said:What kind of performance is this? Why is it so hard for people to grasp that some individuals are actually content with themselves, composed, and just... not perpetually pissed off?

It’s just another classic American paradox: people mistake those who scream, swear, and hurl threats for being brave, while dismissing anyone with actual manners as weak-willed.

In reality, the ones shouting are usually just venting because they're on the fringes of society. For them, loud outbursts and verbal aggression are the only ways to be heard or even noticed at all.
I can't picture someone like Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipović ever losing his cool and screaming threats at someone like that. 😁

Look, someone who's actually satisfied with themselves doesn't feel the need to suck up to everyone else—so they aren't out there kissing everyone's ass.

Jerry Ramos90 said:I know someone who absolutely can't stand people who are overly polite. It’s especially bad when they just met them or are just having a brief interaction. Whenever someone is being way too nice or performatively courteous—like a server at a local diner, for example—it totally gets under her skin. That excessive warmth, being super approachable, or just trying too hard to please everyone. People who are just wide open and overly friendly... man. She stays far away from that. 😠
Personally, I'm the opposite. I always fall for those types of people who are immediately open and easy to talk to.
I honestly can't wrap my head around why she has this specific repulsion toward them, though it's pretty interesting since she's actually really good at reading people. (Whereas I'm terrible at it.)
What do you guys think is actually going on behind all that forced politeness? What are their motives? 🤔 What kind of negative associations might someone like her have with that kind of personality? 🤷 And does it irritate you when people are super friendly right off the bat? Or do you find it attractive?

That alone is enough to be a red flag.😁
Basically, overly polite people irritate me too—unless I can tell (and maybe that person in your example works the same way) that they’re just naturally wired that way.

Most of the time, people are just performing to make a good impression. It doesn't mean they have bad intentions.
But yeah, there are definitely cases where there’s a hidden agenda involved.

And honestly, you can't expect every debate to go perfectly smoothly—there are always at least two people who just won't see eye to eye, and before you know it, they're bickering and veering off into personal insults instead of sticking to the point

It's the same deal with this forum—plus, if you've spent any time lurking on Reddit, you've probably noticed how every single thread eventually just devolves into endless chatting

🙏 And you're bringing up MK as an example of a serious PDF?
Probably the dumbest one out there.

I don't know—I remember my doctor suggesting those pills once to push back my period, and that was just a week before I was supposed to head out on a trip.🤷 Maybe it’s still an option. Honestly, though, I'd be too nervous to play scientist with my own body—what if it makes things even messier?🤣

One of my friends actually just used a diaper once.😁 I mean, I have zero clue how much I can actually soak up myself.🤣
How to support my mom after she found out my dad was cheating? in Psychology & Therapy ·
It’s wild to me that she didn't see what kind of guy she was marrying sooner. I mean, what kind of immature dude is out here hitting on people over the phone when he’s 50 or whatever?🤣
A complete disaster.
I honestly can't tell which is worse: if he was just messing around, or if he was actually trying to cheat. Either way—he's either a total moron or a straight-up cheater.

Is it not truly remarkable how the passage of time alters our perception of what was once considered absolute? One finds oneself wondering if we ever truly grasp the weight of our own decisions until they have already become history. kaže:
To be incredibly close to someone, yet remain entirely oblivious to the silent agony they endure—is that not perhaps the most profound tragedy of all?😁

I had my doubts, but once another person mentioned how incredibly painful her cramps were, I didn't have anything left to question.

So, how exactly am I supposed to approach her?

Honestly, I don't get why this is such a big deal—it feels like she’s just trying to hide it.🤷 And frankly, I don't really "get" women who play it that close to the chest.
Maybe someone here can give me some actual advice.🙂
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Nicole Barrett76 said:So, I find myself scrolling through this thread because I have a question weighing heavily on my mind. It concerns someone incredibly dear to me who suffers terribly from menstrual cramps; at least, that is what another close friend of mine informed me. This second individual used to live with her for a while, so she has firsthand knowledge of what she goes through.

I am not entirely certain if they have ever sat down and actually discussed these struggles openly, though I would assume they have at some point. However, the way this friend brought it up made me feel as though she wants me to be discreet—as if I shouldn't let our loved one know that I’m aware of her pain—yet how can I possibly remain silent and act as if everything is perfectly fine while I watch her suffer right in front of me?

How on earth does one approach a person experiencing this kind of pain during her cycle? If I were a woman, surely this would be a thousand times easier to navigate, but alas, I am not.

This dear person is married and has a child, but knowing her husband, I would venture to say he is completely oblivious to the depth of her struggle.

"Really close," and you didn't realize she was in pain?😁 Everyone I know—friends, coworkers, whoever—knows about it.🤣 It’s pretty much common knowledge that I’m totally out of commission during that time.

Raymond Gomez2 said:I wouldn't quite put a thief and a provocatively dressed girl in the same category. In the first case—whether they've been legally convicted or not, let's just say we know what's up—they've almost certainly harmed other people. A girl dressing provocatively certainly hasn't done that 😬..

In bold: I believe the perception of what is "slutty" varies from one person to the next. And no, I would never jump to the conclusion that someone dressed provocatively is automatically looking for sex 🙄..

Yeah, there's another category too—the ones who just like to push buttons.😁
Either way, I'm pretty sure if someone dresses like a total slob—and isn't lacking basic common sense—they know certain styles send a specific message. Whether they realize it or not, they're signaling that they're messy, so that's how I read it.🤷
Look, everyone has the right to look like a wreck, but I have the right to see it as a total eyesore, too.
Alternatives to suicide? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Carl Lopez2 said:I’ve always wrestled with this one. Why would anyone take their own life? Just think about it. If a person truly had nothing left to fear, what could they actually achieve? They could step into dangerous situations to help others, travel anywhere on a whim, and live without limits.

To me, it’s just proof that a person committing suicide is actually terrified of living—scared to actually step up and face their problems head-on.🤷
Living the "Pay It Forward" lifestyle in Psychology ·
From what I can see, most people aren't willing to lift even a finger for someone else. Unless they actually know you or have some kind of connection—but helping a total stranger? Forget about it.☕
Everyone talks a big game, but the second action is required, suddenly there's an excuse for everything. I actually tried to pull some strings to help someone out through a few other folks, but they all found some "elegant" way to bail.😍
The reason? They just couldn't be bothered.
Daily water intake: Let's discuss in Health ·

Who thrives most as a solo player? in Psychology ·
Honestly, I think being single is the move.😁 Don't get me wrong—love is great and all, but most people just refuse to face reality: those "epic" romances eventually crash and burn, someone always ends up cheating, and it’s just a mess. I can't just ignore that—I'm not delusional.🤷
I mean, why bother? You start out just seeing someone casually, then suddenly you're married and drowning in obligations like kids, mortgages, and endless bills. I'd rather skip the whole thing entirely.🤣 It feels like I'd just be counting down the days until everything goes south. I can't just bury my head in the sand—I see exactly where this leads.🤷
