Honestly, Japanese filmmakers are absolute legends. I’ll say it again: Takashi Miike is the greatest director of all time. And don't even get me started on those mindless American remakes :2up:
Hamster and Necromancer are honestly a bit much even for my taste, but if we’re talking about movies like that, I’ve gotta throw in one more German mess called Presto
quietdriver3 said:1.) usually you start off with Freddy, Jason, Myers, Leatherface (basically whatever hits theaters) 2.) Zombie, Cannibal Holocaust, City of the Living Dead, Demon, Graveyard Disturbance, stuff like that... 3.) Ichi, Being Zombie, Men Behind the Sun, Bible Black, Ebola Syndrome—honestly, I’d throw in some of Jackson's early work too since they’re "geographically" pretty close 😉 4.) Faces of Death, Henry - Portrait of a Serial Killer, early Cronenberg stuff, Eraserhead
always exceptions, obviously 🙂
Man, you missed a ton of stuff: where are the Evil Dead movies and Hellraiser? Where's the slow-burn stuff or Toxic Avenger? And don't even get me started on those Japanese flicks like Ju-on or Otogoriso... not to mention there's like a hundred Takashi Miike movies out there (gotta mention Audition though) As for Australian productions, Undead definitely rules the horror/SF scene, and then you've got Canadian Ginger Snaps......etc etc etc 😉 😁
Just finished rewatching this masterpiece by Lambert Bav and Daria Argento after like 12 years, and man, it really hit me how much better horror used to be. Honestly? Hollywood is just killing the vibe lately, totally ruining the cult status those killer 80s flicks used to have. The only thing keeping cinema actually interesting right now is the killer stuff coming out of New Zealand and Australia, some great Spanish films, and don't even get me started on the amazing horror we keep getting from Japan.

The plot feels all over the place and nothing really comes together at the end. Has anyone actually sat through the American remake with SM Gellar?
Man, the story is totally connected and a ton of stuff actually gets revealed... maybe give it another watch? I've seen it a million times and I think it's absolute genius. Not really interested in the American version, though.
From what I can tell, there are four different versions of Ju-on out there, like Ju-on TV 1 Ju-on TV 2 Ju-on The Grudge 1 Ju-on The Grudge 2 I’ve managed to catch all of them except for that second TV version. Honestly, the movie is way better than Ring. I actually watched Ju-on The Grudge seven times in just three weeks, which is probably bordering on total fanaticism, but hey, what can I do when the movie is just that freaking good?
When I heard that clueless Buffy actress took over Rika's role, I literally wanted to throw up. Even the ending was messed with, which is actually the best part of Ju-on, but... man... Americans really are the worst and always find a way to ruin everything. Not even Sam Raimi can save them at this point...
The first one was actually pretty decent, mostly just because I was stoked to finally see a zombie flick again after forever. But man, the second one? Total garbage—I actually drifted off three different times while watching it.

😎
Are you actually being serious right now, or are you just listing out the absolute worst movies ever made?
Man, I was seriously cracking up watching this one. Finally, a superhero movie that isn't a total pile of garbage... about damn time, right? Honestly, if they hadn't cut those scenes where his whole family gets wiped out, it would’ve been even better—seeing that massacre in full detail would have made it way more interesting. All in all, it's a decent enough flick for a comic book hero, which is a huge step up from that trash like Marvel, Spider-Man, and all those other CGI-heavy cartoon messes.

😁 😁 😁 man, what a disaster...... Godzilla is a total joke, but I really wish people wouldn't lump trashy movies in with straight-up idiocy.....
It’s actually kinda funny how they track Godzilla's footprints at the start, just heading right down the road... the good old Godzilla knew exactly where she was going instead of just wandering aimlessly. Honestly? I think she was sent there on purpose...

"Event Horizon"—I was really hoping for some solid sci-fi, but man, what a bait and switch. It made me feel so nauseous I thought I might actually die, but honestly, it was just a total dud
Man, Event Horizon is actually an awesome movie, you seriously need to go watch it at home, Star Trek fanboy.
