Conan the Barbarian in Movies ·
casualotter21 said:Man, back when those movies were actually playing in theaters—which is basically before the dawn of civilization—I was still busy trying to figure out how to write letters on paper.

Please. I doubt you were even remotely social enough to not have a TV or a video rental shop nearby. 😛
What's your ultimate dream matchup? in Soccer ·
I’d love to play a Yankees-Red Sox game at the Rose Bowl, just so when I score, I can head right under the north stands and let them pelt me with stuff. 😁

You haven't actually seen anything. You missed Back to the Future, you missed Komados, and you missed Conan. What have you even watched? 😁

Marina, aren't Ronaldinho Gaucho and Ronaldinho actually the same guy? He just dropped the Gaucho part once he hit superstar status. 😁

Except for Black Sten. If he actually laid eyes on him, he’d be shitting himself.

Aliens? Are you kidding me? We’ve got three heavy hitters here who are totally on the same level, and honestly, nobody needs anyone else's help. Not even Batman—he just needs Robin.

Scott Fisher34 said:I’m with nimblemarlin17 on this one. These guys are mentally fragile. Their managers cave to the media pressure way too easily, which forces them to play a bunch of flashy nobodies who end up blowing the whole thing (like Ortega back in '98 against France).
They’re just like their biggest rivals, the Americans.

Plus, they have that massive issue where they actually have too much talent for the national team. Brazil doesn't deal with that. You know exactly who’s starting upfront; there's no debate. But the Argentine manager is stuck picking between five or six guys who are all basically equal. At the last World Cup, he had to choose between Batistuta, Cresp, Lopez, Saviola... not to mention Palermo, Cruz, Riquelme, and Ortega. If they just had one superstar like Brazil has with Ronald, it wouldn't be such a headache. It's the same mistake the Italians and the Dutch make. They’re always paralyzed by indecision over the roster.

They're mentally fragile, so I’m not betting on them. On paper, they’ve got talent, but like I said... there’s nothing the Dutch and the Argentines can’t find a way to screw up. 😁

It’s pretty simple: Batman spends all his time fighting brainless villains who aren't even a challenge for him. And honestly, what's a pathetic bat supposed to do if a plane starts falling out of the sky? Try catching it with a piece of string or one of those little boomerangs? Superman would just wipe the floor with him without even getting up from his armchair, thanks to those heat vision beams. I don't know what you guys are even talking about. 😁

P.S.: Batman is such a pushover they actually have to call him whenever they need help. Superman sees everything and keeps watch over it all himself. 😎

When I saw the lineup the Italians rolled out last night, I honestly wondered how they didn't lose by a couple goals to John. A squad like that might actually give Malta a run for their money. Lippi is desperate, and Trap is looking just as pathetic. 🙄

On the flip side, Brazil absolutely crushed it again. They went into Venezuela and put up a 5:2 scoreline. Ronaldo scored twice, Kaka got two, and Adriano added one. Is there even any real competition for them in 2006?

Superman was born that way, but Batman actually built himself from the ground up. Personally, I’ll take hard work over a silver spoon any day. 😎

Look, Superman is faster, stronger, and just more efficient than Batman. All Batman has is a bunch of gadgets and a car. He can't even fly. You're talking about a superhero... give me a break.🙄 😁

Stop talking nonsense. Batman is just some muscular rich guy in a rubber suit. Superman is Superman.

Personally, I'm all about watching Americans. They actually play the game instead of just pretending to.
Pele vs. Maradona in Soccer ·
Maradona was more of a playmaker, whereas Pele was a pure striker. In my book, Maradona was the greatest playmaker to ever play the game, but I don't think Pele was the best striker ever. That title goes to Gerd Muller. Everyone else is just a cheap imitation. 😁

P.S.: On that FIFA poll, I voted for Baggio, who ended up landing somewhere around 5th or 6th. Serves them right. 👍

Carl Robinson76 said:They were broadcasting a game yesterday, New York City vs. the Dallas Cowboys. I only caught the first few minutes, but man, the commentators were absolute garbage. Still, they should air more of those games. The football there is actually exciting to watch.

No, you've got it wrong... It was the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Dallas Cowboys. Saying that is like calling the New York Yankees the New York Yankees instead of the New York Yankees.😁

Since I’ve always had a soft spot for technical players and honestly value domestic leagues more than any other tournament, my top picks have to be Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Francesco Totti.

Thierry Henry - That undefeated run with Arsenal FC? Unbelievable. In the Premier League, this guy basically dictates reality. The downside is that his specific style didn't translate quite as smoothly to the national team. Still, his season at Arsenal was easily top five.

Cristiano Ronaldo - He’s tearing up La Liga as the top scorer. When he’s healthy, he absolutely destroys everyone at the club level, and even more so for his national team. He’s the best player on the planet, even if his club ended up finishing second.

Francesco Totti - Regardless of how mediocre AS Roma was or how lackluster the UEFA Euro turned out, last season in Serie A was easily the peak of his career. When a second striker puts up numbers like that, you can't deny he had a massive season.

Some honorable mentions too - Ronaldinho, Roy Makaay, and Frank Lampard (and yeah, I didn't expect myself to actually name an Englishman).

As for the rest of this list? Absolute garbage. Beckham, Roberto Carlos, Michael Owen, and Oliver Kahn are total jokes.

quietranger55 said:That’s the real question: why do we even watch these movies? And I mean, seriously, why? For anyone with half a brain—even my cat is smarter than this—they’re just mindless and frustrating. They don't even qualify as decent evening entertainment. For real though, what's the point? Who's actually making them? And more importantly, who are the people watching them? Who actually enjoys this stuff? It’s pure decadence... 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

The intellectual elite, clearly...🙄
Commando in Movies ·
I swear, listen to this... I was scrolling through the American editions of Maxim and FHM on Algorithm yesterday when I stumbled upon this "movie soldier showdown." After grinding through the round of 16, the quarterfinals, and the semifinals, it all came down to John Matrix versus John Rambo. Matrix takes it...😁
Would you be an organ donor? in Miscellaneous ·
I’m telling you, with the sheer number of people on waiting lists and the massive demand for organs right now, we need a law of taking. It should be mandatory for every citizen who is capable at the time of death—meaning their organs are actually healthy—to donate. We hit the point where the wait times and the shortage of available organs became too extreme to let individuals just choose. Every corpse should be autopsied for parts. This whole "opt-in or opt-out" nonsense has to go. Once you're dead, you don't need your body anymore, but there are people out there who actually need those parts to stay alive. 🙂
