Office meltdown in Psychology & Therapy ·
hiddenstag said:To be honest, I’m at a loss for how to handle my own rage. I’ve always been one of those people who, once I set my mind to something, I see it through to the end. If things don't go according to plan, my first instinct is usually to go off on someone. I’ve actually climbed quite high in my career, and I hold a pretty senior management position now. But what really gets under my skin—what I struggle with most—is seeing people half-ass their jobs or just totally slack off. It throws me completely out of whack, and I feel like I lose all control. There are moments where I just want to smash everything in sight, and it takes me a long time to finally settle down.
I just don't know how to find some calm.

Man, that's heavy stuff. Not exactly light conversation.
How to change your perspective? in Spirituality ·
Has anyone actually found a cure for changing your perspective? 🤣

Look. What can I even tell you.
It’s basically an act of will.

In the end, everything boils down to "practice."
Order, hard work, and discipline.

Everything else is just an illusion... let's call it that.

Nothing happens without effort... in this case, "working on yourself."
Working on order.
Putting things where they belong.

The problem is you have to force your thoughts toward the positive.

How do you think you get overwhelmed by negative thoughts?
That was also a process... a long, drawn-out process... that a person just gives in to.
Because it's easy.
Going downhill? Oh, there's nothing easier.
Just tumbling like a ball... 🤣 and rolling straight down.
Great!!! 🤣

That's just a pile of trash that builds up inside a person.

First, you have to purge it all out, then start building from the ground up.
Because how are you going to build on top of trash?
No chance.

I'm sorry I have to be blunt with you... but you have to fight.
That's the whole philosophy.
The struggle.
And it's hard... and that answer doesn't sit well with everyone.
It's easier to just pop some Zoloft, Xanax, or Prozac... 😍

But what does that get you? Eventually, you aren't even aware of your own personality... so what did you actually achieve?

What do you really have if you don't have yourself?

Today you look up at the sky and think it looks gloomy.
You tell yourself: "Gloomy sky. It's going to rain. Wonderful. Perfect! It's all part of nature. Man, I love life."

Besides, you mentioned you don't want to wake up at 50 and realize you wasted your entire self.

Isn't that enough motivation for you?

You won't be here forever.
This life might be the only one you get.
Learn to appreciate it.
It's short. You wouldn't believe how short.

Maybe you should start... not tomorrow... but... hm... right now? Right this second?

Dana Morales64 said:Do you have any specific types of exhausting, socially oblivious people that you go out of your way to avoid? Here’s an example from today—I’m grabbing coffee with a buddy, and this incredibly annoying guy just wanders over and sits right down with us. We finish our drinks and head off in our own direction, but the second we stand up, he starts interrogating us about where we're going. I tell him I'm heading home, so he follows up with "Oh yeah? Why?" Then, "What are you doing at home?" Then, "Doing what kind of work?" 🙄 And then comes the best part—as soon as we get to our bikes, he actually starts pedaling after us 🤣 He chases us for maybe a couple hundred yards before he finally gives up because he ran out of steam. To top it all off, he tried calling my cell afterward—of course, I didn't pick up.
This is just one instance of the absolute weirdos roaming this planet. What is actually wrong with people like this? Are they even sane? How low can someone sink to act like that? I mean, look, we've known this guy for a while; he isn't quite as unhinged as my friend, but he is painfully draining because he needs to know everything about everyone. He has zero boundaries—he doesn't know how to sit still, and he clearly doesn't know how to behave in public. When we run into him, he doesn't know when to leave or when enough is enough. That's exactly why we steer clear. Is there a permanent way to deal with these special cases? And the worst part? It's not even some random teenager; we're talking about a grown man in his 20s.

🤣🤣🤣
The funniest part... hahaha, absolutely gold. 🤣

The second I visualize the ending, I'm done... 😂😂😂

Honestly, I kinda feel bad for the guy. He’s just pathetic, constantly forcing this idea of "community" on people who are clearly trying to avoid him.

I know a few people like that... man... what can I say? They're exhausting. But hey, they aren't even the worst kind of people out there. There are much worse groups than that... but that's a whole different story.
Painful urination and low urine output in Women's Health ·
Kate White81 said:Maybe it’s from the epidural... honestly, between that and my urinary tract issues, plus how much they had to cut me, I'm two weeks postpartum and feel like everything is just going to fall out of my vagina. Did you deal with that too?

Man, I’m feeling absolutely trashed. I can barely even move around my own house right now—getting from the bed to the kitchen or the bathroom feels like running a marathon. This sucks.

How long did it take you to get back on your feet?

I felt better the second I stepped through my front door. Being stuck in the hospital was miserable because I couldn't get comfortable—everything just felt constantly damp down there. Honestly, I couldn't even bring myself to use a towel to dry off after cleaning up because the whole sensation was just gross. As soon as I got home, I started using a hair dryer to dry the area after my showers. It’s a total game changer. 🤣 The stitches came out and everything looks great.

My scar still acts up sometimes. It gets this weird pressure whenever the weather shifts or if I spend too much time out on a long hike.

Man, that issue with my urethra really ate at me for a few months. It was a total drag.

Ever had a catheter shoved down your throat?
They did for me.
They’re doing less work for everyone on an epidural, so that’s basically where I saw the connection.

Yeah, true. Just eat some cranberries and brew yourself some cranberry tea.
It’s possible this could even be an infection triggered by the catheter.

Kate White81 said:Hey,

Are you kidding? What even is that? I was freaking out thinking it might be nerve damage since I had an epidural... When I stand up, I have to suddenly squeeze my pelvic muscles—kind of like I'm trying to stop myself from peeing—just to help it along. It’s such a gross feeling. I searched the entire internet and couldn't find anything like this, so I was thinking about calling my OB-GYN for advice. Do you happen to know what this could be?

Thanks!

I haven't made it to the doctor yet. 🙈
I was scared. But I think I can go now. 🙂

I talked to some other women who went through something similar, and they were all on antibiotics... which seems stupid to me. You shouldn't need an antibiotic for everything.

I also had an epidural during delivery, so there's a chance it's linked to that.

But don't worry... you'll get through it just like I did.
You don't need any meds.
Just push through it... mine cleared up on its own and my bladder and everything else are just fine now!!! 👍 😁

Kate White81 said:I really need some advice,

I gave birth two weeks ago, and I’m struggling. For the last week, every time I try to get out of bed, there's this awful sensation—it feels like heavy pressure right at my urethra. It’s like a nerve is being pinched or something. I have to tense up and just wait for the feeling to pass before I can move, but once I start walking, it goes away. And then it just repeats itself over and over.
I'm barely even peeing. I figured it was just because I'm breastfeeding, but I'm only going a few times a day. Could a prolapsed bladder be causing all this? Honestly, I'm pretty terrified...

Please help.

Don't panic.
It'll pass.
I went through the exact same thing, and man, it dragged on... ugh... I think it took almost three or four months postpartum before things felt normal again.
Older moms' kids... any advice? in Health ·
Look, the fact is, there are more risks for women over 35... but that just means getting a little extra attention from your OBGYN, nothing more.

My mom, for instance, had me when she was 41.
And I turned out to be Kevin Bailey2... if you think that's such a bad thing.
So what?
Nobody's perfect.
Your mom is hot in Miscellaneous ·
Look, I’m not talking about my own mom specifically—this is more about attractive moms in general.

I’ve noticed with other people too that they often don't realize just how good-looking their moms are, even when everyone tells them so.

It’s not like I’m comparing myself to her; I wish we looked a bit more alike, but it is what it is. She’s sophisticated, while I’m more of a hot mess. She has these delicate features, and I just look like a gremlin.
And honestly, she probably holds her own much better than I do in bed. Since she’s a classier person overall, I’m sure getting what she wants is way easier for her than it is for me.

But that’s not even the point here.

The real question is why people find it so hard to view their moms through this lens:
"Wow, she's really attractive."

Without any sexual undertones or creepy vibes attached to the word "attractive."
Just attractive... objectively.
Why can't we just be objective when it comes to our moms?
Your mom is hot in Miscellaneous ·
Ever been one of those kids who spent their whole childhood hearing people say:
"Man, you hit the jackpot with your mom."

And honestly? You never really got what they meant. You weren't looking at her through some weird lens where you’re thinking about her being a total knockout—you just saw Mom. Period.

But then you grow up. Suddenly, you're out at a bar or a party, someone mentions a woman in her age group—or even younger—and you find yourself subconsciously comparing them to your mother. That’s when it hits you like a freight train. You realize your mom is actually a stunning woman, and you’re left wondering why it took you decades to realize she was such a badass.

So, let's settle this: Is your mom hot?

And why do people act so weirdly uncomfortable when they realize their own mom is a smoke show?
analogskipper11 said:Honestly, my partner and everyone else has been driving me crazy about this. They really think we should just wait until the baby arrives before buying anything, which would be a total disaster 🙄. That’s why we don't have a stroller, crib, or changing table yet (we actually found some stuff today since I insisted we get things ready now). We do have the tiny clothes and small essentials, though.
I can't exactly imagine him managing everything alone while I'm stuck in the hospital for three days...

Ugh, give me a break. I never fell for that "don't buy anything yet" nonsense.

It’s such a stupid, outdated superstition. To me, it just sounds like:
"Don't waste money since you might not even make it through delivery."
That's probably where the idea comes from. 🤮

I bought everything ahead of time. I even put the crib together myself... haha... way to go, me. Thanks, thanks. 😍🤣

And please... honestly... my guy couldn't even manage to take a shower while I was at the hospital unless I yelled "GET IN THE SHOWER!!!!!" at him. You think he's suddenly going to magically know how to shop for all the baby gear? Lol.
Brandon Morgan said:So, wait, aren't there actually medications for this kind of thing?

People have told me there are treatments out there.

And that stuff about drinking salt water... man... gross. 🤮

Thomas Roberts9 said:At just one month along, it’s nearly impossible to know for sure. At least, that's what I was taught in health class—that even home tests might not pick it up yet, let alone a doctor, because the embryo hasn't developed enough to trigger those physical changes you'd actually be able to detect.

Otherwise, the chances of conception are quite slim unless they were within her fertile window; however, if they did happen during those days (or perhaps a day or two leading up to them), then the odds are naturally a bit higher... though that certainly doesn't guarantee anything. Even if withdrawal was used, the risks remain relatively small since there's a distinct difference between what's released during ejaculation versus what comes out during pre-ejaculate, which contains far fewer active sperm cells—though it's worth noting that doesn't mean there are none at all.🤷

A month? Please. Most tests start reading positive around day nine after sex, assuming that’s when ovulation happened.
Look, two weeks after sex is enough time to know for sure.
boldgull54 said:My due date is only ten days away, and I’ve been getting daily phone calls from people asking if there's any news yet because apparently, someone else's baby is arriving early—WTF? 😠 Then there's this one lady who told me, "Starting today, I'm calling you every single day just to see if the baby's here." So, I finally just told her, "Actually, I won't be picking up the phone at all." 😠😠

I figured I had to tell people my due date so they could help out with childcare once the little one arrives, but man, look at the reaction I got... It's funny because when I was pregnant with my first, I kept everything so quiet; nobody even knew the exact date, and we didn't tell a soul until the baby was actually already born. Ahhhhh 🙏

Man. You wouldn't know if you were in my shoes. I should have been in labor already.
And my mom calls me every damn day just to ask, "Are you in pain yet?"
It drives me crazy because for five days now, it’s been hit or miss—sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't—and I have no idea what to tell her when she calls while I'm feeling fine, even if it starts cramping up later tonight. Stop asking such stupid questions. Just leave me alone. I don't know if it hurts or not! And then she uses that pathetic tone: "Are you hurting, sweetie?..."
I'm losing my mind!!!!!!!!!

And every single person sends texts like, "Did you have the baby yet?"
Like, seriously, am I going to hide in a shed with my newborn and vanish from the face of the earth? Good grief.

I've stopped answering the phone. I can't deal with it because it's always the same thing—no "hello," no "how are you," just "are you in labor?"
What kind of stupid question is "ARE YOU IN LABOR?" Yeah... yeah, I'm literally in labor right now, screaming in pain, and sure, I'll definitely pick up the phone mid-contraction just to update you. Yeah, okay.🙄

I am in a world of hurt.
Richard Jones28 said:Why is it that pregnant women everywhere still have to wait in line just like everyone else? 😠

And what is with those elderly ladies who, the second they spot someone expecting, try everything in their power to cut in front of them? Honestly, sometimes I feel like they’d gladly plow right into me with their shopping carts if it meant getting to the register first. 😠 😠

Also, why is it so hard for people to stay clean, especially during this kind of heatwave? 😠 😠

That’s not how I roll.
I just walk right ahead. If someone wants to start a war about it, they can go vent on their toilet at home or just sue me. See if I care.

just like how people deal with arachnophobia or claustrophobia, which are both rooted in the mind, the fear of getting blood drawn is purely psychological☕

Not necessarily.
Just because a fear of needles is common doesn't mean there isn't a legitimate physical reaction happening under the surface.

Exactly. It usually comes down to iron deficiency in the end.

But seriously—can someone explain why kids' immune systems take such a hit in dry rooms?
I still haven't quite wrapped my head around it.
And why is higher humidity actually better for people dealing with allergies or asthma?

I live in an apartment that's bone-dry... I've got asthma and allergies, and my nose has been bleeding every single morning for the last four months since I moved in.
And I have a baby due in about... three weeks.
Should I go out and grab a humidifier immediately or what?

Does a humidifier work right away, or does it take days or even weeks to actually change the air in the room?
