Anthony Hayes82 said:Man, he’s acting like Intel is total garbage and calling this stuff junk. We were actually talking about how ridiculous his logic is over at the original TS forums. He’d honestly rather go with an A8-7600 over an FX-8300 just because it supports 2133MHz RAM... I don't know what to tell you. I have to put up with him until he finally pulls the trigger on a purchase, and frankly, I don't care how he spends his money. If he wants to buy trash, that's on him, as long as he doesn't come crying to me later. Personally, if you pair an FX-8300 with a Gigabyte GA-970 DS3P and some 1866MHz RAM, you really can't go wrong.
The best he'll probably end up with is an Asus 99x and an fx8300 with 1800 sticks... definitely enough for him, since he couldn't handle anything better anyway ☕
Anthony Hayes82 said:EDIT: Man, I'm calling it quits. This guy is making zero sense. He wants to hit 2133MHz straight out of the box without any overclocking, which just isn't how it works. Whatever. Closing this thread.
He should just go walk into Best Buy, drop a grand, and grab some Skylake. At least those run at 2GHz stock... let him play with those instead.
William Hall93 said:Are we talking about retirement as in it's physically dying, or just that the model is outdated? If you mean the latter, I gotta disagree. I hear AT&T still carries the Motorola Razr and it’s easily one of the best routers they've got...
Physically, some chip fried and now the whole thing is falling apart. Just call them up and have them swap out the gear... done.
Everyone posting on behalf of Reddit? Is that cool with you? 🍿
Someone actually asked—just once, for a change—if someone with actual info on the current glitches and fixes could step up. If necessary, just call Anderson Cooper personally to get him to lay out the specifics on what’s being repaired right now... ☕
Can we fix this? Because "soon" isn't an answer to when things will be back up. If someone said "in a month," at least that's an answer, assuming they aren't lying. Users don't mind waiting, they just hate waiting in the dark. Give us some light here...
The only way to actually block internet access is to physically kill the connection on that machine. Once it hits the network, remote access is wide open and there’s zero way to stop it...
Give us some details on what's actually going wrong. It's been four years since anyone even touched this thread... help us out with the specifics. What OS are you running, who's your ISP, which app is acting up, exact version number...
Pretty sure my roommate's rocking that exact case. My only gripe? The fan mounting holes are a total mess. They won't let you fit 120/140mm fans properly... you can't even secure three fans at the top even though there’s physically enough room for them.
Right-clicking should pull up some kind of Populate option or maybe adding a letter... something like that to make it actually show up. Was the PC even powered down when you plugged that IBM into the case?
Just try it, maybe it'll kick back into gear... After you reset the CMOS, things should stabilize. If they don't, I'm pretty sure the motherboard is toast.
It’s just testing. If you’ve got the thing sitting two feet away and it's still acting up, then the router is just in the wrong spot for what you need. Move it closer to where you actually want the signal... 🙂
Just test it with another Wi-Fi device standing about 1-2 meters from the Xfinity Gateway. If the connection still sucks, call customer service and demand a replacement because the hardware is clearly busted. ☕
Just hit up the Control Panel and look for "Add New Hardware" or whatever it’s called these days. It should sniff out the uninstalled monitor, then you'll see it pop up in the Device Manager.
Hit F2 to pull up those boot options and see what you're actually working with... also make sure the right drive is set to boot after you plug in the USB/DVD.
