Oh my goodness, I completely lost my train of thought regarding Opeth. 😲

redmarlin3 said:I really want to see Bad Religion.

I feel exactly the same way; seeing these acts would be such a nostalgic trip back to my younger teenage years. 😍

At the very top of my Top of the Pops list, there is definitely Radiohead. It would be such a wonderful experience to catch them live before they decide to call it quits entirely. 😳

Muse follows right behind Radiohead, and I am crossing my fingers that they make their way over to the States, especially after that total fiasco during their last tour.

I also missed out on seeing Pearl Jam
last time, so I am truly hoping all those rumors about them touring here turn out to be true.
Then there is Lady Gaga😳, whom I regret not buying tickets for back when I actually had the money—after that, the budget just wasn't there anymore!

I simply have to see
Rage Against the Machine, much like I do with Eminem😬.

I'd also love to catch Delphic, The xx, Interpol, The National🙂 (who I actually only discovered after they had already been touring extensively—I used to be convinced they were just a boring band!), Hurts, Sleigh Bells, M83, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, and Lily Allen.

That is everything I can think of for the moment. 😬

Are you really hijacking someone else's thread just to ask a question you could have easily handled through a private message?

As for my role in all of this, since I stepped into my moderator position here on the US Forum, I haven't actually seen any of your specific reports come across my desk. I did send you a direct message explaining that once you submit a report regarding that particular issue next time, we will be sure to take it into consideration.

The moderation team has changed quite a bit recently, so I'm honestly not entirely sure who you think you're reaching out to. Regarding the whole situation with flooded inboxes—which isn't happening with mine, and I certainly hope it won't happen with anyone else's—perhaps you were just being a little too persistent. 🤷

Anonymous said:First of all, I have no idea why you guys decided to start cleaning up the US section first.
Is this some directive coming from the top brass, or just your own personal take on what "quality" means?
If this actually came from above, then I’m going to step up in the US section and start reporting every single instance of profanity and everything else. Those same authors were incredibly disrespectful to people posting certain ads and stuff. So, when it comes down to actual quality and basic decency, they were the first ones who deserved to be banned.
Secondly, since I'm naive enough to believe your goal is actually to improve the quality of the forum, I’d ask you to run an analysis on all the PDFs and their associated chats so we can actually see if they even hold any value.
I truly believe your goal should be satisfying everyone on the forum, and you'll only achieve that through transparency, impartiality, and all those qualities that define a democracy rather than a totalitarian regime.

Well, it’s because we happen to be the moderators for this specific sub-forum, isn't it? 😁

I have to wonder if you truly grasp the distinction between the main forum, its various sub-forums, the moderators, and the administrators, because from where I’m sitting, it seems there might be some confusion on your part.
Is this some sort of directive handed down from the top, or just your own personal interpretation of what "quality" should look like?
If this really is a mandate from the higher-ups, then I’ll be the first to step up in the US section and start reporting every instance of profanity or misconduct. To be perfectly honest, some of those very same authors have been incredibly disrespectful toward people posting certain advertisements and such. From the perspective of maintaining quality and decent conduct, they were actually the first ones who deserved a ban.

So please, go ahead and report them—who is going to stop you?

Profanity itself isn't strictly forbidden, but anyone can certainly report a post that is unpleasant or rude. Truly, anyone.

Secondly, I’m not about to be naive enough to believe your goal is to improve the overall quality of the Forum. If that were actually the case, I would ask you to perform a full analysis of all the PDFs and their corresponding chats so we could actually evaluate their validity.

Why on earth would anyone do that for us? Is that somehow our job description?
We serve as moderators for specific sub-forums. It is fundamentally in the interest of the entire forum to ensure we are elevating the quality within the specific sub-forums that we oversee.

I believe your true goal is to satisfy all the forum members, and you’ll achieve that through transparency, impartiality, and all those qualities that define a democracy rather than a totalitarian regime.

It’s quite funny how you start by being suspicious and searching for motives, only to suddenly turn around and believe everything? Please. 😉

Jessica Watson4 said:Not necessarily the only one—honestly, probably the best way to handle it. It’s actually superior to other methods because staying in constant communication with someone really helps you bridge that gap and get closer to them. That’s especially true when you're hanging out in this particular subforum.

I feel like everyone might be missing the forest for the trees here. Don't get me wrong, I totally get what you were trying to achieve with this move—the intention is solid—but honestly, shutting down the chat on a sub-forum like this? That feels like a massive misstep. It’s like taking away the water cooler in an office just because you want fewer distractions; you might get some focus, but you lose the soul of the community in the process.

Yeah, so what was stopping you guys from sharing them?
There would definitely be fewer of them around.
Honestly, getting all worked up just because someone asked you to moderate when the rest of the chat crew was actually looking for it? There’s really no more graceful way to brush those chatters off than by just letting them drift away on their own.

Yeah, but how exactly are you supposed to actually become friends just by hanging out in the comment sections?
So, here’s the deal: before I started interacting with Finger, I only ever hung out in specific threads. I couldn't stand the constant noise over on the main feed, so I stuck to writing constructive posts exclusively. In two whole years, I didn't get hit with a single warning or anything like that—my record was spotless. During that time, I actually managed to get to know two people quite well.
In just a single month of hanging out in the chat, I’ve actually managed to get to know about a dozen different people on a much deeper level!
Honestly, you guys don't need a chat here at all. Not one bit. This sub is specifically for lonely people looking for connection, and adding a live chat just ruins that whole vibe.
🤦

Regarding that last point—before I joined the chat, I had already put out about 200 posts, and honestly, every single one of them was constructive and actually stayed on topic. But looking back at the whole experience? It’s kind of funny, really. Despite all that interaction, who did I actually meet? Practically nobody.
I met a whole bunch of people on the chat!
Wait, I’m trying to wrap my head around this—where exactly is the logic in that? How is everyone supposed to actually get to know one another better through this?
It’s starting to drop on my end.
If my post count is getting on your nerves, feel free to just clear out the old chats. As far as I'm concerned, I'd much rather keep things low-key and stick to as few posts as possible.
If the spam in the chat is bothering you, then do your jobs and moderate it! Honestly, the only reason the chat has spiraled completely out of control is because you moderators haven't been doing your actual work—it’s really that simple.

So, now that you’ve gotten to know everyone in the group, what exactly is holding you back from jumping back into the conversation on the new chat?

Regarding that last point, I’ve personally contributed about 200 posts to the chat up to this point, and I’ve made it a point to ensure every single one was constructive and stayed strictly on topic. It’s funny, though—looking back at all those interactions, who have I actually gotten to know? Honestly, almost nobody.
I had the pleasure of meeting a whole bunch of wonderful people while hanging out in the chat.
I’ve been sitting here reflecting on our conversation, and I find myself wondering about the underlying logic behind your approach. How exactly do you envision people actually getting to know one another better through this process? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how that connection is supposed to truly take root.
It seems like things are starting to fall apart on my end.

Honestly, I hate to be the one to say it, but you really can't blame anyone else here—you're the one who brought this on yourself.

I have actually met quite a large number of people through topics that have absolutely nothing to do with the chat, including some wonderful connections made over on PMs as well.
I’ve always felt that there is a profound difference between someone who genuinely seeks out a connection and someone who simply happens to have an opening in their schedule. It is much more rewarding to invest your energy into getting to know someone who is actively pursuing you with intention, rather than just settling for whoever happens to be standing there when a window of opportunity opens up. In my experience, true chemistry flourishes when both people are leaning in, rather than one person just being available by chance.

Austin Chavez6 Asks:
So, I have to wonder, what was the whole point of opening this chat in the first place? Wasn't the original vision to clear out all that clutter and spam from the other threads, creating a dedicated space where people looking to connect could actually find one another? It’s just a reality of human nature that not everyone has the sheer nerve to slide into someone's DMs and lead with, "Hey, here is who I am, let's get to know each other." It can be quite intimidating, honestly.

It really was, and that's exactly why there’s this ongoing conversation about elevating the overall quality of our subforums. We're looking at a bit of a minor reform here. Honestly, I find myself wondering—what’s the logic behind us constantly finding ourselves repeating the exact same points over and over again? It feels like we could all benefit from moving past the repetitive loops.

Do you always try to get the conversation moving like this in every single thread? Since when did that become your thing?

Regarding the posts? 😁

Of course, I’m certainly not going to be the one to step in and announce, "Alright everyone, let's start chatting to get the discussion moving!" only for the whole group to immediately dive straight into their work. That kind of thing just doesn't happen that way. Real engagement happens naturally when people start responding to the main topic, perhaps throwing in a little Off topic commentary here and there—not because it was planned or targeted, but simply because good communication tends to spark itself once the conversation starts flowing.

So, I have to ask—why wasn't there any actual moderation happening in the chats, or even any effort to share those card packs? Do you honestly believe that the moderation duties on those channels were being handled with full accountability and diligence?

The topics in this chat are a bit more laid back than what you might find elsewhere, so you won't see people getting banned for the same kinds of things that would get you kicked off the other boards. It’s a much more relaxed environment here.

I personally jumped into the chat to handle the reports that I felt warranted a sanction if they were actually carried out. Since I wasn't hanging out in the chat for the most part, I wasn't really engaging in any active discussions, clearly. 😁 Consequently, that specific side of the moderation team wasn't really represented there.

So what about all the newcomers who are just looking to socialize? You mean someone feeling lonely is supposed to just scroll down to Off topic to find people to hang out and meet? Can't they just head over to the Lonely Hearts subforum instead?

Are you seriously trying to tell me you're worried about what happens to newcomers? Kaman.

They’ll find their ways to connect in other ways. 🙂

Prioritizing the quality of the subforum above everything else—bravo. As for everyone else, it's not our fault if you're lonely or unhappy; you'll just have to figure it out yourselves.

Oh, please, don't be so dramatic.

Jessica Watson4 said:Alright, let me put you on the spot here—hopefully, you can give me a response that actually holds water.
What is the actual logic behind not having a chat on a subforum specifically titled "Lonely Hearts"?
I mean, I could wrap my head around them not having a chat in some random PDF section, but we're talking about a subforum where lonely people gather, likely with the intention of meeting someone—even just virtually through conversation—rather than just posting on threads or leaving classified ads.
It just doesn't click for me, especially given the explanation from mistywolf17. Honestly, I'm surprised she even tried to frame that as logical; to me, it feels like nothing more than a whim, which isn't how she usually comes across on this forum.
If the concern was the chat drifting in an unwanted direction, then the solution should have been to moderate it.

Do you really think the other people joining the US isn't lonely?
And is the chat truly the best or only way to meet and socialize?

The whole intention here is to make the subforum a much more constructive environment.
Chatting happens everywhere, practically within almost every thread, provided it contributes to a productive discussion. That's a perfectly normal occurrence, and frankly, we even encourage it ourselves. 😬

Have you perhaps had a chance to look over the rules? There's a reason why someone might get a warning just for posting a single smiley face or for putting something in their 'signature.'

For those users who have become close friends through chatting, there is a dedicated subforum where they can continue to socialize. There's also private messaging. There are all sorts of ways to build connections without it being solely about padding your post count.

Besides, the way things are set up, it encourages users to step outside their specific chat topics and wander over to other subforums. I won't even mention how peculiar it is to see people who NEVER post anywhere else except within a specific chat topic on one particular subforum. 🙄

Keith Cox6 said:Correction to what micek said—the quality of the US chat has been seriously tanked... by a bunch of chatty idiots. This should have been dealt with way back in the ninth inning.
Don't act like you know what's happening if you aren't actually in the chat... if you were, you'd see it’s actually one of the best places to hang out... where people actually talk in full sentences, deconstruct love, build friendships... and deal with those ego-driven types who caused the quality drop in the first place by making everything nonsensical.
But damn... this isn't how you do it... you can't just push your own agenda without an ounce of respect. I would have respected you and your decisions way more—no matter how questionable they were—if you had just hopped into the chat and let us know what was planned. That's the bare minimum level of respect expected from someone with your moderator authority. But hey, props to you for this... it’s not easy showing respect to others when you can just play the part of the big, powerful, and righteous queen here on the forum...

And you are more than welcome to keep doing all of that over on Off topic.

When you try to patronize others, it just makes you look silly rather than authoritative.
The reason I haven't participated is simply because I don't find the current state of it to be high quality, you see?

I honestly can't tell if that bolded text was a clumsy attempt at sarcasm or a sincere argument for why the chat should be reinstated, but either way, it’s quite funny. 😁

this isn't the way to do things... you can't just act on your own whims without any shred of respect. I would have appreciated it much more—both from you and regarding your decisions, no matter how questionable they might seem—if you had just stepped into the chat to announce what was being planned. That represents the bare minimum of respect that your role as a moderator should entail. But, kudos to you... it isn't easy to show respect to others when you can just come to the forum and play at being big, powerful, and righteous.

How many times do I need to explain that these aren't MY decisions, but collective ones? Do you even know how to read?

I think you're exaggerating here because you clearly have some personal issues with me and my fellow moderators, which is evident from the posts in the newly moved chat, as well as from this:

I consider you to be a low-quality forum user and a poor debater, so I won't be wasting my breath arguing this specific case with you.

Gregory Garcia said:Both of the US chats have been moved over to the Offtopic subforum today.
The mod's explanation goes something like this:

My question is—who exactly doesn't need these chats? What kind of reasoning is that, really?

As for us forum members, we clearly *do* need them, since that’s where we actually hang out. We aren't some exclusive little clique, either; we're just a group of people who gathered in the US subforum and started a chat—one that even two former US moderators participated in. Every single person from the US section has always been more than welcome in that chat.

The current US moderators don't participate in the chat themselves, so I guess that's why they "don't need" it. They've just casually—and, if I'm being honest, somewhat arrogantly—moved everything over to Offtopic.

There were regularly over 50 people active in that chat.

If this is being done strictly to reduce the load on the server, then I suppose *all* chats from *every* subforum should be moved to Offtopic. If that's truly the case, fine—everything is above board. However, if the US forum is being singled out as an exception, it really makes me wonder about the objectivity, the impartiality, and the actual motives behind the moderators' decision to act this way.

I'd appreciate it if the administrators could weigh in on this. 🙂

That’s perfectly normal. 🤷

Honestly, I feel like the US subforum really doesn't need those dedicated chats. It’s as simple as that.

It’s pretty clear that we need our fellow community members, especially since they are the very heartbeat of everything we do here. We aren't some exclusive, gated clique trying to keep people out; rather, we’re just a group of folks who naturally gravitated toward the US sub-forum and decided to start a chat to keep the conversation going. In fact, two former US moderators were even part of those early discussions. Please know that any member from the US side of the forum is always more than welcome to jump into the chat whenever they feel like joining the fun.

Honestly, I’m struggling to see what difference it makes who exactly was participating in that chat. Does it truly change the substance of what was discussed? 🤔

If you find that you need them, they are right there waiting for you—exactly where they belong.

It seems like the current US moderators aren't really engaging with the chat at all lately. It honestly feels as though they don't see much value in having the conversation active there, so they’ve been quite nonchalant—bordering on arrogant, if I’m being honest—about simply pushing all the discussions over to Offtopic.

Maybe we aren't participating because we simply don't feel like it. Personally, I don't think we really need a dedicated chat feature on the US subforum. It feels like it might just add unnecessary clutter to an area that works perfectly fine as it is.?

It was actually quite impressive to see how lively that chat stayed; we regularly had over 50 people jumping in and engaging with one another at any given time.

I?

Who exactly is it that keeps encouraging these folks to stay involved and keep participating?

If the goal here is really to reduce the load on the main boards, then I honestly feel like we should just move all the casual chat threads from every single sub-forum over to Offtopic. It seems like the most logical way to keep things organized without cluttering up the more serious discussions. If everything is done with that kind of intention behind it, then I truly believe everything is perfectly fine. That being said, if the US forum is an exception to the rule, it really makes you stop and wonder about the objectivity here. It raises some serious questions regarding whether the moderators are actually being impartial, or if there are underlying motives driving this kind of behavior.

Are you really deciding that it’s okay only "if..." certain conditions are met? 😁

Personally, I don't have much of an interest in how the other moderators choose to manage the chat threads on their own sub-forums. It was a collective decision made by the US moderators to move all the chat discussions over to the Offtopic section.

Most of the people hanging out in those chat rooms don't actually contribute anything of substance to the subforum; they just seem to exist solely for the sake of chatting. Honestly, if that's all there is to it, that chat could be hosted anywhere else under the sun. It’s pretty much functioning like that right now anyway.

feraltrucker5 said:Yeah, those morbid lyrics from the debut album really hit differently. 😢

True, none of them actually kick things off with some guy at a funeral. 🤣

Oh, I saw this coming. Personally, 😁 Let It Be just grates on my nerves with that electronic intro. 😲

It wasn't really predictable for me, though; I think I just got too caught up listening to Holy Ghost and Streetlights during my first spin. 😁

Eventually, I realized this one is actually quite lovely too. 😳
Yeah, totally subpar. I get that not everyone can pull off tracks that stretch to ten or twelve minutes, but they could at least put in enough effort to make it through seven. Five minutes just feels a bit thin. 😁

That’s a fair point, though he was comparing both albums, and honestly, the long tracks seem to be a recurring theme in both.
White Lies in Music ·
Well, there you have it, proof that it can be done.😁

I’ll admit the songwriting feels a bit thinner compared to their debut, though there are definitely some standout moments scattered throughout—it isn't all bad.
Let It Be, Bad Romance, Larger Than Life, Streetlights, and Strangers all feature pretty solid lyrics.

As for the track lengths, if you take a look at how long the songs were on that first record, you'll see the timing is actually quite similar. 😁

What really grinds my gears is the heavy-handed religious imagery used in the lyrics, certain song arrangements, and the inconsistent volume levels; some tracks are just drowning in noise and feel way too loud compared to others. Honestly, I think it's more of a production failure. In my opinion, Steve Albini would have handled this much better, as these songs actually sound far superior when they play them live.

That said, I wouldn't go so far as to call it a disaster, because it really isn't. 🤷
White Lies in Music ·
You really hit the nail on the head with those points. 🙏

For me, the biggest sticking point is just how loud everything feels lately. 😕
The direction has shifted so heavily toward electronic textures—it’s almost veering into pure synthpop territory. I suppose there's a silver lining in that, since they aren't just pigeonholing themselves into one specific sound, but I can't help feeling like that raw essence from their debut album is missing.

As for the lyrics, they definitely feel like the weakest link here.

Initially, those last three tracks didn't really resonate with me at all. But after sitting with the record in a quiet, dark room for a bit, I actually started to appreciate them—especially Let It Be. 😍

That said, the first album still holds the crown for me. 😳
White Lies in Music ·
Which concert are we even talking about here? 😁

It’s definitely worth a listen. 😬

As of right now, my top picks have to be Streetlights (that one track from their set really stuck in my head, though I have to admit the studio version feels a bit off to me now 😳), Holy Ghost 🙏, and Strangers (mostly because I’ve already played Bigger Than US on repeat more times than I care to admit).

It might not quite top the first one, but hey, we shall see. 😛

@ Bradley Taylor24

I'm absolutely terrible at this, especially since you're out here comparing women to sheep! 🤣

I actually have a couple in my neighborhood who don't just do everything together—like being pregnant, having kids, or even just running errands—but they actually call each other "Mom" and "Dad." 😱

They are both such wonderful people; they’re both college-educated, and she has her own career rather than staying at home, so they’re really the last pair I’d expect to act that way.

I feel like we've drifted a bit from the original topic, haven't we? 😁
Women are villains, men are saints in Psychology ·
Bradley Taylor24 said:I have to admit, your comment caught me completely off guard. I had always thought of you as... well, quite grounded, realistic, and open about your perspectives. That is why this almost malicious sense of exclusivity was so startling. To suggest that a woman effectively ceases to exist simply because she chooses to be a homemaker and a mother is truly a harsh thing to say. 😢

Fair enough, but those are just certain cases. How do you account for instances where young women walk away from successful careers to devote themselves entirely to their children? I know two such women personally, and I can tell you that when they left their firms, their absence was felt deeply across their entire departments. They were incredibly talented and high-achieving professionals. Now, they are home, fully dedicated to raising their kids, and they are genuinely happy. 🙂

I think you might have taken my post a bit too literally.

I didn't anticipate needing to clarify, but I suppose I will.

When I say someone "ceases to exist," I'm referring to her sense of self—who she is as an individual. I don't know how many young mothers you've encountered in your life, but I certainly know plenty.

They often lose sight of themselves—their hobbies, their passions, and all those little things that made them who they were before marriage and children came into the picture. To me, that specific version of the person I once knew effectively disappears, replaced by the roles she has stepped into: mother, wife, homemaker.

Fair enough, but those are just certain instances. How do you account for the women who walk away from high-powered careers specifically to focus on their kids? I personally know two such women, and let me tell you, when they left their firms, there was a massive void left in their departments. They were incredibly talented, top-tier professionals. Now, they're home, fully dedicated to raising their little ones, and they are genuinely happy doing it. 🙂

My point is that these women are making a conscious, rational choice. They have the common sense and the agency to ensure that motherhood and marriage aren't their *only* sources of fulfillment. Kudos to them. 👍

However, I still feel that the percentage of women choosing this path could be higher. I can't help but wonder if it's because men aren't stepping up to shoulder half of the parenting and household duties, which forces women to stay home, or if it's just a matter of following the path of least resistance.

It’s actually quite disheartening when I go to visit a friend who has a child; nearly every single thing she talks about revolves around her kid, someone else's kid, or her husband (usually something about his job at a firm like Goldman Sachs or similar).

In those moments, I find myself thinking—honey, where did *you* go?
Women are villains, men are saints in Psychology ·
I’m certainly not much of a masochist, so I don't think I'll be picking up any religious texts anytime soon. 😬

Joel, did he mention anything about you turning into a pillar of salt if you don't cut it out? 😁
Women are villains, men are saints in Psychology ·
I find it quite difficult to wrap my head around the idea that even in our modern era, women still face such limited choices—to the point where one might feel like opting out entirely. That’s just how I see things. And honestly, I wouldn't dream of judging anyone, because I certainly wouldn't want to be surprised if someone actually found happiness within those constraints.

When I look at certain dynamics in the world around me, I truly struggle to believe that people can still hold the mindset that the man should always come first, essentially bending everything to his will while the woman is treated as if she barely matters at all.

William Watson3 said:Sure, women can be absolute nightmares—it’s hard to deny—but I won't go so far as to generalize every single one of them... obviously not everyone belongs in that category, just like not every man is a saint.
Personally, I find myself gravitating toward male-dominated circles. It's simpler. I find it much easier to find common ground with men than with the opposite sex—they’re generally more laid-back, more open, and actually fun to be around. Getting on the same page with a guy is easy; trying to align with a woman? Not so much. From what I've dealt with, women are often just malicious, envious, and hypocritical. They constantly drone on about trivial nonsense that bores me to tears... so, in that regard, men definitely win. But hey, that’s just my experience. Everyone has their own take, and different strokes for different folks.

I certainly wouldn't want to make a broad generalization, but I feel like that is exactly what you're doing right now. 😁

Do you have any examples of female villains? I’m looking for characters that sort of capture the essence of most women, if that makes sense.

To be perfectly honest, I’ve always found myself gravitating toward male-dominated circles. There’s just something about the dynamic that feels more intuitive to me; I find it much easier to strike up a conversation and truly find common ground with men than I ever have with the opposite sex.

Do you happen to be on the same page as I am regarding this matter? 🙂

I’ve found that I tend to get along much more easily with men; there’s just a certain relaxed, open, and genuinely fun energy about them that I find really refreshing. To be perfectly honest, based on my own personal experiences, I’ve often found women to be somewhat more difficult—tending toward being unkind, envious, or even a bit hypocritical. It seems like our conversations frequently drift toward trivialities that simply don't capture my interest or leave me feeling quite bored, so if we’re talking about ease of connection, I definitely give the edge to the guys. Of course, I realize this is strictly my own subjective take on things, and I’m sure many others would have a completely different perspective to share. After all, there's a saying for a reason—different strokes for different folks!

I certainly respect that it’s your personal take on the matter, but I have to wonder—where is the actual evidence to support the claim that women are inherently unpleasant?

To be honest, I find myself gravitating toward male company quite often. It isn’t necessarily about being in a large group where it’s five guys and me, though; more often than not, it’s just those meaningful one-on-one conversations that I truly value. In fact, if I look at my inner circle, I actually have more close male friends than female ones. My relationships with women tend to stay a bit more on the surface level—usually centered around grabbing coffee, going out for drinks, or just chatting about the latest guys we've encountered. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but I find the depth I share with my male friends to be much more fulfilling.

I also have a few wonderful girlfriends in my circle whom I can say, with absolute certainty, are truly lovely people. They aren't just friends out of habit or convenience; they are genuinely kind souls through and through. 🙂

I honestly can’t quite wrap my head around how the title even relates to the actual topic at hand. It feels completely disconnected. From what I can gather, it just looks like a gathering of some well-known, rather frustrated men.

What truly weighs on my mind—and I find it genuinely unsettling—is that even when you weigh all those arguments regarding the historical suppression of women, there remains this lingering question. I was actually discussing this recently with an old friend of mine, much like how one might sit down for a long chat over coffee in Seattle, and we touched upon a profound paradox. If women finally have the autonomy to choose their own paths—choices that previous generations quite literally fought and died for—why is it that some still gravitate toward being exclusively a mother, a homemaker, and a wife? It’s a complex puzzle that I can't help but dwell on.
