Alright, I was wondering if it's actually possible to get into the area around Central Park on those two nights without a ticket? Specifically, where do they actually check the festival passes? Is it right at the main entrance by the ramp?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I think I might need a little assistance here. Ever since I moved to Chicago, I transferred my medical records over to Martić's to see a young doctor—though, to be honest, I can't quite recall her full name anymore (if I remember correctly, she had two surnames). Her office is located on the ground floor of a building on Martić's, specifically in the left wing of the hallway. She was practicing there at least a few years ago, though I suppose things might have changed since then. I’m really just trying to track down her name so I can check her hours and figure out how to book an appointment. Since I don't live in Downtown Chicago anymore, it isn't particularly easy for me to just drop by to ask. If anyone happens to know who she is, I would truly appreciate the help.

If I’ve posted this in the wrong section, I'd appreciate it if the moderators could move the thread to a more appropriate category.
Hvala.

😕 And is it really necessary to figure out the entire plot and the ending within the first twenty minutes?

So, which bank are we talking about here, and what kind of terms are they actually offering?

I mean, it’s pretty much a given that you shouldn't be dipping into a negative balance immediately after receiving your first paycheck.

I think I might to enroll. 🤣

It immediately brought to mind that anteater from the old cartoons.

Is it really "sound" just because his environment conditioned him to loathe himself simply for being different? I’m not sure there’s much health in that.
Anyone else a fan of parodies? in Movies ·
copperharbor47 said:I think those movies are alright. Honestly, though, it would be pretty hilarious if they did a parody of some cheesy soap opera.
Like, imagine if ten identical triplets suddenly showed up out of nowhere or something.

Yes, well, truly hilarious. 🙄 It feels like it’s been years since we’ve seen a decent parody, so whenever their names come up, I can’t help but feel a bit skeptical.

but it isn't. Honestly, the movie is brilliant—it’s right up there with Shrek.

Pandora isn't owned by Disney.
Skin cancer concerns in Health ·
Could you describe what that "mole" actually looked like? I'm wondering if it seemed to be spreading quickly. Also, how much time passed between when it was first noticed and the actual surgery?
Skin cancer concerns in Health ·
By the way, if surgical removal ends up being the necessary route, does anyone happen to know what the typical wait times look like or how long the whole process takes? I suppose I’m asking just in case the prognosis isn't great; I have a trip planned out of the country in less than three weeks, so I'm trying to gauge whether there's any realistic chance of getting it all handled before I head out.

Should I start with my primary care physician, or can I just book an appointment directly with a dermatologist? I'm wondering if I'll need a referral first.

I’ve been scouring the forums for a while now, but I couldn't find a thread that quite hits on this, so I figured I'd start one myself.

I was wondering if anyone could walk me through the various signs of skin cancer, along with how these things are typically treated and what kind of timeline we're looking at. I suppose I should mention why I'm asking: a few weeks back, I noticed this tiny, almost imperceptible little sore on the top of my left hand. Over the last month or so, though, it seems to have spread just a bit. It's sort of a pale reddish color and the shape is pretty irregular.

Susan Evans3 said:As for how Adam Sandler looks, I read somewhere that he spent months hitting the gym just to get that fit, so he could pull off those crazy stunts, haha 😉

What kind of stunts are we even talking about? Honestly, the most action he’s personally performed is some "dancing" on the street or in a lounge. I wouldn't say I'm exactly a huge fan of Sandler's, though he has had a few movies that aren't quite bad enough to make you want to immediately turn off the TV, but this one isn't really in that category. There were maybe two or three jokes that actually landed; everything else felt a bit forced and clearly aimed at people who find it hilarious when a character just tells a cashier to go screw themselves on their way out of a store. 🙄

briskbison41 said:You make some fair points, but you have to consider that the lead is B. Fraser.
So, if you're on board with him, I suppose there's no reason to dismiss the movie itself.

I don't really see how one actor dictates the entire vibe of a production. Are we actually choosing movies based solely on the cast? It seems a bit much—like rushing to the local video rental shop just to borrow something because Timberlake shows up for maybe thirty seconds.
Original or a pirated version of Windows?? in Software ·

I wouldn't give them a dime $1.75 for new Windows licenses if I could just download everything myself from the web for $35

If you aren't grasping my point—which I believe I’ve laid out quite clearly—then I suppose there isn't much more I can do for you. Perhaps some government agencies could help. ☕
Landing in second place with an opening weekend under $10 million tells you pretty much everything you need to know: it’s a total flop.
Original or a pirated version of Windows?? in Software ·
I realize our purchasing power isn't exactly what it used to be, but it honestly pains me to see guys dropping eight or ten grand on top-tier graphics cards and high-end rigs, only to immediately go and fry their Windows installation. I mean, if you’re spending that kind of money, surely you can spare a few bucks every couple of years to do things right...

It reminds me of those people who carry around a flagship Nokia, yet still rely on prepaid minutes. 🙄

Does a therapist's sexual orientation matter? in Psychology ·
James Allen6 said:Hmm... that is a difficult question.

Speaking from experience—it actually mattered to me when I saw that rainbow flag on my psychologist's desk. I have to admit, I wouldn't want my life being guided by someone who doesn't seem to understand boundaries. I am not just talking about sexual orientation, though LGBTQ+ individuals are often the ones advocating for freedom in every sense, even in areas where I feel they might cross into immorality.

That said, my psychologist was wonderful. She was professional, kind, and she never forced her own views or solutions on me. Instead, she allowed me the space to reach my own conclusions, which I believe is the true job of a therapist.

So... yeah.🙂

Nonsense.

There seems to be this lingering, rather silly prejudice that gay people somehow lack a moral compass, or that they’re just waiting for any excuse to cross some invisible line into immorality. It’s a strange way of looking at things, really. As if having a different sexual orientation somehow fundamentally alters one's ethical framework. I suppose it leads to the absurd assumption that a gay psychotherapist would offer entirely different advice than a straight one, simply because of who they are. It just doesn't hold up to much scrutiny, I guess.
