Blow-Up is one of those movies you can watch a hundred times and still spend an equal amount of time debating... unless you and whoever you're talking to immediately agree it’s a masterpiece. In which case, you can just skip the debate and move on.

How much was that again? 20 grand out of 600 million in just 60 minutes...😁

If you’re that desperate, I’ve got a Star Wars marathon waiting for you. 👍

🙂..she's coming with me, so you can just binge it on Netflix!! 🙂

😁😁
VIP is just our portal that picked up the news 🙂 ;-) ..just because it's true doesn't mean they aren't a total group of sissies 😁😁

Great movie, though. She’s way too old for this role. 👍

...you're still at it 😁
Jason Diaz34 said:Oh sure, because having a PrittPen come over to teach you the alphabet is such a great idea. 🙂

That thing is legendary...but I don't even know who you are. 🙂 😁😁

Sure you are... if we're counting from 2005.🙂 🤣

blueranger12 said:What’s actually interesting is whether this even counts as debating aesthetics. The skeptics were the only ones talking about how it looks; the fans just went, "Aww, so cute 😍 😍." I can't even bring what I love about this movie up to an aesthetic level. It's more spiritual. Like a self-help book.

...if by "aesthetic" you mean visuals then you're wrong...(one-liner italicized, vol 2 😁😁 )

Quite the profound stream of consciousness there—half the people on this thread felt the impact.

Just look at me over a year ago on this same thread, calling out Jose Miller17 for claiming if you don't love LIT, you don't know how to watch movies. 😁 😁Fast forward a year and I'm writing that the guy doesn't know how to watch movies.😵

Took you a whole year to get your head on straight? Or maybe you're just the last one to realize who's actually playing the game.🙂...
...😁 😁

I mean, the guy is from Canada, after all!! 😁 😁

Jessica Nguyen85 said:- So, a few posts ago, Joseph Lee3 was busy playing the humble guy. Look, if my name is on a post, it’s my take, period—doesn't matter how I landed on it. I dare anyone to find where I added anything extra to suggest my opinion is somehow the ultimate truth. By the way... this would make a great sig 😁

So this is a lesson in fake modesty..😁...
but I wouldn't count on those empty promises from blueranger12.. he's already missed one showdown he swore he'd show up for...😁😁

I don't really think it's bad anymore, considering the budget was a measly $4 million. I'll give it another watch and see if I can actually find something worthwhile.
These quiet, introverted stories always make me compare them to Carver's writing, especially *What We Talk About When We Talk About Love*. Honestly, if he can create an atmosphere ten times more heavy than just some old folks hitting a raffle at a local fair (maybe that's what people meant by "Will you please shut up"), then *Lost in Translation* would HAVE to be even better to justify all this hype.

I bet it was that whole bit about the kid and the ocean that got to you... high expectations usually ruin the first impression.
Michelle Howard2 said:If you set aside Universal Pictures—which is easy enough to do—this was the only American film magazine I actually bothered buying. Why did it die? Simple: nobody bought it. They were moving maybe 2,500 copies, so even distributors wouldn't touch them for ads. It’s hard to wrap my head around the idea that in America, you can't find more than 2,500 people willing to spend $8.25 on a movie mag. That's basically the price of a single ticket. It didn't even matter what was inside; it was about movies. Any similar mag would have hit the same wall. Unless, of course, you slash every single expense and try to look as slick as Universal Pictures. For me, it was a reliable way to see what was playing in theaters or at the video rental shop, and they occasionally ran director profiles. Sure, it was a bit shallow and thin in places, but I bought it regularly. It was the best we had.
What a fucking backwater! You can't even sustain a basic film magazine here.

We've already covered this...with the desperate plea from Paramount Pictures...
which clearly didn't catch on.

Yeah... honestly, it’d be perfect if there were no audience at all.🙂..😁

As far as I know, he’s one of the rare ones—basically the only one—who got into Juilliard at sixteen. That should tell you everything you need to know about his talent.

I don't know... I heard he was busy doing all sorts of things at sixteen, and some say (allegedly) he was also cleaning out inboxes ;-)
