Gregory Smith4 said:Man, I was already typing stuff out on these boards while you were still wetting your diaper.

Honestly, you really let me down this time. I actually thought you managed to pull all this off in just 300 posts, but now I see you've been hanging around the scene way longer than that. You've officially lost my respect, man. Now how am I supposed to tell my kids about the legendary, brilliant Gregory Smith4? HOW? 😢 🙂

Man, honestly, it’s kind of on you if you just don't have a sense of humor, 😛
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in Movies ·
wanderingcrane51 said:Final Fantasy VII is hands down the greatest game ever made!!!
even though we're seeing games come out now with graphics that are three times better, none of them actually have the soul that Final Fantasy VII had.

Anyway, let's talk Fallout (sorry for going totally off-topic here).
I don't know what it is with people, but when I actually sit down and think about it,
Spirits Within wasn't even that bad. (it wasn't exactly a masterpiece either, but it was alright)

Man, casualotter21, you seriously don't know a lick of English, lol,
like, how do you even spell Texas like that? lmao,
and it's "there," not what you wrote, haha,
plus there aren't any ninjas in Lady Gaga, hahaha,
definitely no Steven Seagal in there either, hahaha,
not even Alien, hahaha,
honestly, all I can say is lol, hahaha,
and you've got that whole beard thing going on too, hahaha,
I mean, isn't just shooting guns enough for you? haha,
you managed to cram like a hundred mistakes into just two sentences, hahaha,
talk about a total dummy, haha,
it's like, when you try to flex with foreign words, hahaha,
you should probably actually know what they mean, hahaha,
and even that song you posted is totally off, haha,
hahahaha, hahahaha, hahahaha,
hahahahahahakhkhkhklj

Gary Kelly8 said:It’s such a drag when they dump all the best jokes into the trailer instead of the actual movie.

Did anyone else notice how half the stuff from the trailer isn't even in the movie? Honestly, it's not even that bad, though those creepy alien clips were probably the funniest parts—I was practically pissing myself laughing at them.😉
Musk (Warriors) in Movies ·
Sadly, this one slipped through the cracks at the local indie theaters without much fanfare, and I doubt we'll see it back on the big screen anytime soon, which would be a total waste if people miss out, so I figured I’d start this thread to get the word out. 😉

Check out more on this film here (I know there was already a thread about this, but it totally got buried under a mountain of other 😉 )
Basically, if you're looking at this American historical epic—whether you're one of those stuck-up cinephiles or just someone who lives for high-quality trash—you really can't afford to miss this one.

silentpuma25 said:Am I tripping, or did some guy just get taken out in Beowulf and they immediately toss him into one of those plastic body bags like they’re filming an episode of CSI, complete with the zipper pull?😲

Well, look, even though you wouldn't notice it in such a grand, epic tale of heroism, Beowulf—not the original, obviously, but this version starring the great Christopher Lambert—actually takes place in the future.

Don't even ask me why. 😁
Star Wars subforum? in Movies ·
rapidstag74 said:Those Boba Fett books are total trash anyway.
Star Wars was created by Lucas, not K. W. Jetter (the genius behind "Blade Runner 2: No, I Seriously Can't Make Any Money" and "Blade Runner 3: I Truly Have Zero Creative Drive Left in My Sold Soul").

Look, I’ll admit I’m a complete hillbilly who hasn't touched a single page of those recent disasters—let alone anything about Boba Fett—but the urge to chime in was just way too strong to ignore. 😉
Star Wars subforum? in Movies ·
silentpilot6 said:Look, the movies are the foundation, sure, but they barely scratch the surface, maybe like 5% of the actual Star Wars universe. It's just a tiny slice of the whole galaxy.

Take a book like Tales from the Mos Eisley, for instance...

And then you've got Lucas coming along with Episode 2 and basically flipping the script, completely rewriting or ignoring half the stuff established in the books—like Bob Fett's entire backstory, for example.

But honestly, I'm totally on board with the sentiment here. 👍
Kill Bill Vol. 1 in Movies ·
You can say whatever you want about this movie, but honestly, Tarantino nailed that Hitchcock vibe better than anyone else ever has, and just based on that one hospital scene alone, there's no way this flick is total garbage.
Steven Spielberg's early films in Movies ·
Total garbage—I was literally pissing myself laughing 👍 👍 👍
Braindead is alright too, I guess, but it’s still not quite hitting the mark 😉
How do they not know...? in Movies ·
Just imagine how much better LOTR would’ve been if they’d just cut those few stupid scenes—like how they completely butchered The Two Towers because of some bits that total maybe two minutes of screen time, which, let's be honest, were incredibly naive and totally undercut all of James Cameron's hard work, IMO.

I think I picked up from some movie why all those other RPG geeks love to make fun of people playing White Wolf games by calling them ridiculous.

My bad for going off-topic, but honestly, most of them just mock it because of those MASSIVE little... well, you know... 🙂

James Ortiz37 said:Hey, Eric Jackson43! I was sitting in the third row too, so who knows, maybe we were even watching it together?! 😉 😁
Honestly, I thought the movie was great, though maybe it was a tiny bit too much blood for some people... 😁

I know there were some idiots on the right side who just couldn't keep their mouths shut and kept making noise during the show.😉
Kill Bill Vol. 1 in Movies ·
Caught it yesterday. Only the first three rows were empty, and I ended up stuck in the third one. Honestly, I thought sitting that close would totally ruin the vibe, but it actually just dialed up the whole psychedelic effect. Even if you don't think the movie is any good, it’s definitely its own unique experience, especially if you're sitting right up front in the third row. My advice? Watch it from a close distance 😉. (not kidding) (SERIOUSLY)

The real issue is that directors spend way more time actually making a movie than audiences spend "consuming" it. Over that kind of stretch—say three or four years—you just completely lose your ability to judge quality. You get movies that look like absolute garbage on paper but end up being hits, and then you have others where it’s the exact opposite.

I'll give you that a director can lose their touch, but honestly, with all that massive studio money involved, shouldn't they be able to hire someone—or an entire army of people, really—just to tell them what's working and what isn't? If eighty percent of the public can point out every single flaw in a piece of junk, why can't someone do the same for a director before it even hits theaters? I know they try, but we still keep getting trash and movies ruined by stupid little details.

PS maybe they release garbage on purpose just to lower everyone's standards so they can hit us with a "masterpiece" later on.😉

Aaron Gonzalez4 said:It’s way tougher than D&D, though at least it feels real, but now our GM has gone and cooked up some NPCs with like 500 character points or whatever, and based on the rolls we got, almost two of us died and I totally whiffed my axe swing 😠
Can't wait for the next session later today.

But honestly, the wildest part is when we end up having this huge debate at some local pub afterward while everyone else just stares at us like we've lost our minds.😁

We really ought to start a dedicated RPG thread on a different board somewhere.😉

BTW, it’s not actually harder if the rules aren't rigged against you.😉

AGAIN, SORRY FOR THE OFF-TOPIC POSTING

Any animated movie recommendations? in Movies ·
Back in '81, link had a sequel, Heavy Metal FAKK from 2000.
We should probably also bring up Wizards from '77, which was likely the first animated flick to pack that much violence (correct me if I'm wrong).
The common thread is that all three are total junk
