So, how much does stretching actually matter? To be honest, I always seem to skip that entire part of my routine, and now I'm starting to wonder if I'm making a massive mistake...
hollowdrifter3 said:I’m dealing with something very similar. Even though I really ought to have taken it more seriously—actually heading to a doctor for a proper checkup or something—I just haven't. I find myself unable to do push-ups because of this intense pressure in my right wrist; I first realized how bad it was right in the middle of a CrossFit session a few months back, and honestly, it hasn't improved one bit since then. I still attempt push-ups, but I absolutely have to wrap my wrist tightly with a brace, and at home, I'm constantly slathering on Tiger Balm, Voltaren, or even just some Bengay... Usually, push-ups are the only exercise that triggers this specific pain.
I'm going through the exact same thing, to the point where I can't even perform them anymore. And now, to make matters worse, my right ankle is starting to act up too. Up until now, I've never had these kinds of issues, except for the trouble with push-ups, so I'm feeling a bit lost on what to do next. I haven't worked out in two days because the moment I put any real weight on that foot, the pain hits me...🤷
Oh my goodness, wait just a second before anyone gets banned! Could someone please explain to me how to resize an image? And what dimensions should I actually be aiming for?🙂
I heard this story quite some time ago, so I’m honestly not entirely certain if I can recount all the details perfectly... So, there was this elderly gentleman just sitting there on the shoreline, staring out at the horizon... A wealthy shipping tycoon once approached him and asked, "How on earth can you just sit there for days on end, doing absolutely nothing at all?..." So, what exactly am I supposed to do about all this...? He really could just grab a fishing rod and head out to the lake if he wanted to... So... what happens next? So, you take that fish you've caught and sell it for a decent profit, then you take every cent of those earnings and reinvest them back into better gear—buying more hooks, better tackle, and everything else you need to head right back out there and land an even bigger haul... And then what happens...? Then you just take all that catch down to the local fish market, turn a tidy little profit, and use those extra funds to finally buy yourself a boat... So, I find myself staring out at the dock, looking at that boat, and honestly... what on earth am I supposed to do with it? It’s just sitting there, taking up space and staring back at me, and I can't help but wonder if it's become more of a burden than a blessing... You take your boat out past the breakers and head straight for the deep blue where the schools are thickest, cast your nets wide, and suddenly you're looking at a massive windfall... So, I find myself staring at this sudden, massive windfall... and honestly, I am just sitting here wondering, what on earth am I supposed to do with a mountain of cash like this?... You simply acquire a fleet of vessels, hire a dedicated crew to handle all the heavy lifting for you, and then you can just sit back, relax, and truly enjoy the fruits of your labor...
-That is precisely what I am doing at this very moment... 😉
[ Honestly, all this unsolicited advice is just driving me up the wall. Everyone thinks they’re an expert, jumping in to tell you exactly how things are going to go, what you should expect, how you'll feel... it’s just constant, endless noise... I seriously don't understand why they don't make earplugs and sleep masks mandatory equipment for pregnant women?😳
Leg cramps... general sluggishness... clumsiness... brain fog... and honestly, I feel like my intellect has just completely evaporated.🙄 It’s like certain words are right on the tip of my tongue, yet I can't quite grasp them, and even when I do remember them, they just won't come out right...🤦 Yesterday, this massive bug flew right into my room, and since I have a truly paralyzing fear of insects, I lunged forward trying to grab something to swat it with. Next thing I knew, I was flat on the floor, feeling every bit of my full weight hitting the ground at once.🙄 Okay, maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but I ended up face-planting onto my hands and knees, and now one of them is bruised deep blue.😢 It's just that my legs simply won't cooperate with me anymore. And I am struggling so much to adjust to this new reality and accept that I really need to slow down and take it easy. I'm basically moving through the house today like a little old lady...😁 But if there is any silver lining, it's that I'm already in my 32nd week, so I know there is an end in sight...
The scenario might play out something like this. Let’s say it’s happening between some unfortunate soul looking to end it all and myself. THEM: I want to kill myself. ME: Why? THEM: Because life is meaningless, and don't even bother trying to answer me. This is my decision. ME: But, you haven't even truly lived yet; there are so many experiences out there worth having... THEM: That's all just nonsense... nothing matters... I'm going to do it. ME: Okay, then go ahead and do it. THEM: How could you possibly say something like that to me?!
I honestly feel like these people are just desperate for attention; on these psychology forums, you constantly see these types popping up with maybe a handful of posts, preaching about how they're going to take their own lives. Though, I haven't actually noticed any real spike in suicide rates.🙄 I have this friend—we've known each other for quite a while now—and he has attempted to take his own life at least twenty times, yet somehow, he’s been saved every single time.🙄 It's always something; he'd start cutting his wrists right when he hears someone knocking at the door, or he'd be attempting to hang himself just as someone walks into the room... I'm telling you, it's quite a story. To be perfectly honest, I almost hope that one day he finally succeeds in his intention. At least then, he would die happy.☕ Where does anyone get the right to tell another person what to do with their own existence?! If someone wants to get married, let them get married; if they want to travel to Africa, let them go. In the same vein, if they want to end their life, let them end it—who am I to stand in their way?!
And I've observed that these individuals are capable of moping about the same single topic for years on end; no matter what anyone tells them, nothing changes, they can't be helped, everything is just so meaningless... blah... blah... blah... They don't actually want to change anything, nor do they truly intend to follow through with dying in the end. If they really wanted to, they would have done it by now; if they didn't want to, they would seek professional help. They wouldn't be posting their little sob stories on an internet forum.
Kimberly Johnson4 said:We all know it... most of the baggage we’re lugging around, all those issues we deal with daily, they’re buried deep in the subconscious. My question is pretty straightforward: how do you actually get rid of them? In tons of different philosophies and cultures, there’s this idea that humans are spiritual beings. And when someone can't figure themselves out—when they're just miserable, angry, depressed, or just feeling off—we usually say they haven't settled things within themselves yet. Nowadays, people turn to religion, or booze, or drugs... basically anything that lets them let their guard down enough for that subconscious stuff to start bubbling up to the surface. Easterners meditate, Americans drink, some pray, others go the shamanic route... every culture has its own way of trying to sync up the subconscious with the conscious mind, what I'd call some kind of grand realization. So, my question is... how do you actually connect with your subconscious? How do you make sense of those deep-seated feelings, figure out what's triggering all that negativity, and finally... how do you fix it?
Honestly, I think trying to tackle this on your own is completely irrational. There is a very real danger that you could "slip" over to the other side and find yourself unable to ever find your way back. If this is weighing on you this heavily, why not consider something like clinical hypnosis instead? I suspect you might have read Castaneda; in his books, the concept sounds incredibly alluring and exotic, but please keep in mind that even if it weren't just literature, he had an exceptional guide to walk him through it. You don't have that safety net, and if you decide to go rogue and experiment with substances just to see what bubbles up from your psyche... well, I believe anything is possible. However, there is a massive risk that you could simply lose yourself in the process and end up causing far more harm than any potential good...
Until some kindest soul finally steps up to guide us on what this whole thing is actually for, I say we all just grab some drinks, pile onto a big comfy sofa, and start sharing stories about our very first sexual experiences... you know, those classic "mom and dad" topics... I wonder what else people are whispering about over there...🤷
Oh, I just adore you smart cookies! I was actually going to ask what the point of this all was, but honestly, I was completely in the dark about it...😁

I really wish I could be one of those urban legends, you know, the kind of person who hits the road with just ten bucks in their pocket and ends up becoming a millionaire.
Well, you certainly have quite a lot...😉 So, what on earth are you waiting for...?
🤣 Well, if you don't, then don't.🤷 But I am certain that the exact thing you were asking about was mentioned in that specific book... At least, back then, that particular part made perfect sense to me...
It’s been quite a while since I last sat down with 'celestial prophecy,' but I vividly remember one specific section touching on this exact subject—the idea of those deeply ingrained behavioral patterns we all pick up during our childhood years. If my memory serves me right, they categorized them into roles like the intimidator, the victim, the interrogator... and I believe there was also the distant type, or something along those lines. It was ages ago, so the details are a bit fuzzy now... But the core concept was how these cycles perpetuate themselves; for instance, an intimidator eventually produces either a new intimidator or a victim, while a victim might evolve into someone emotionally unavailable or even an intimidator themselves... it just keeps spinning in circles unless we find a way to break the chain. You should try to track down that book; it might offer you some much-needed clarity...
I truly believe it is quite a rarity for a parent to consciously decide to screw over their child; generally, they act based on what they feel is necessary. They believe they are doing the right thing. As for the fact that years later it turns out they completely botched everything, well, that’s a different story altogether... In my own upbringing, there were endless gaps and oversights that my parents simply failed to notice. But I don't hold them against me; they did the best they could, or rather, the best they knew how to do... If I had to pinpoint the main issue, it would be that they didn't push me, or rather, they didn't know how to draw the absolute maximum out of me... I was just different from the other kids; the things that worked for everyone else just didn't click for me... Back in first grade, I was miles ahead of my peers, so my teacher—who was more like a friend at the time—suggested to my parents that we set up a special curriculum for me, so that instead of going into second grade the following year, I would jump straight into third... When I heard that, even though I never actually had trouble reading, I suddenly started stuttering over my words...🙄 So, skipping to third grade never actually happened... Then in fifth grade, since math came naturally to me, I was supposed to represent my class in a regional math competition. Once word reached my ears, I managed to score two failing grades in math within a single week...🤣 And I did all of that on purpose...I loathed it when anyone expected anything from me; I hated being singled out for any reason at all. And my folks just had no clue what to do with me... Quite by accident (when it was already far too late), during the first semester of my junior year of high school, my old man went to see the administration. I had enough unexcused absences to get kicked out six times, not to mention eight failing grades...😲 My dad absolutely laid into me. He waited for me at home, sat me down, and began that same serious lecture that repeated year after year... how I am above average... how brilliant I am... blah, blah, blah... how what most people have to read five times, I can grasp in just one glance... But this time, he made one exception; he said all that usual stuff, but then he brought up how I got hit by a car when I was eleven. "Now, if my dear child had their head slightly scrambled because of that accident, I can understand that. It's not your fault. But then we might need to enroll you in a special education program... something more suited to your level..." "Are you saying I'm stupid?!" "Oh, noooo, not stupid at all, you just can't grasp this material..."🙄"But I'll talk to your counselor about transferring you to a special ed school🙄, where you can learn some simpler things, like maybe basic chemistry or something practical..."🙂 Basically, he showed an incredible amount of understanding, mostly because his only child is a complete moron in his eyes... I couldn't believe what he was telling me; I thought he was joking, but he was deadly serious. And right then, that stubborn streak in me—the one that had been driving me my whole life, just in the opposite direction—finally kicked in. I didn't just fix those eight failing grades; I pulled my GPA up to an honors level, surpassed him, handed him my report card, and said, "Here, look what your idiot daughter achieved." He just looked at me with total indifference and said, "And what do you think? Do you think I don't know that? If I had told you how smart you were, you would have spent the whole year repeating everything back to me just to spite me..."
And I don't blame them for it, because honestly, who in their right mind thinks threatening a kid with special education is a good move?!🙏 I blame myself the most. Even today, when I'm working this crappy job and I'm stuck on the early shift feeling nauseous, I say to myself, "Well, whose fault is it now?" When my old man kept badgering me to go to college...😂oh please, as if. I could barely wait to finish high school, let alone deal with the headache of university... after all, who can guarantee you'll actually find a decent job through it... which college would actually... make money move where it needs to go... I always had an answer for everything...😵 If he had just told me straight up that his main priority was finding me a good husband to "take care" of me—that women weren't meant for higher education, and that this whole academic path wasn't for someone like me... well, damn him if I hadn't earned my Master's degree today 🤣 . That’s just how things had to go with me back then. But he never actually said those things, and honestly, I can't even blame him; I was old enough to use my own head and take full responsibility for the choices I made. Some of those consequences still sting a little bit even now... The only thing I'm really focused on these days is making sure I don't make those same mistakes all over again.
Eric Richardson49 said:Me? Not so much. But when I do laugh, it’s the real deal. My friend swears I’m constantly cracking up, though. Even her mom chimed in once, saying: Eric Richardson49 knows she looks better when she's laughing, so she just keeps at it. Always catches me off guard because I honestly feel like I rarely smile or laugh. But hey, maybe people see us differently. Or maybe they just see the good side. Personally, I always feel like such a grouch. 😁 Maybe it's just about being around people who actually make you want to laugh. When that happens, it's genuine. You need the right person by your side for everything in life to feel natural and unforced.
Actually, reading your post just made me burst out laughing... it's basically the exact opposite situation for me.🤣 So, while you think you're a grump but everyone tells you you're beaming, I claim to be a happy person while everyone else thinks I'm a total grouch.🤣 I constantly get hit with questions like, "Hey, why are you so mad?" 😕 And I'm not even angry! I think I just have one of those permanent "resting grumpy face" expressions.😁
