And there goes Lando

Oh, man. This is looking good.

With a starting grid like this, I'm telling you right now, we are in for one hell of a race.
So what, is having a different opinion officially banned now whenever we start talking about "superheroes"?

Anthony Ortiz said:What do you mean by "original"? Aside from spying on neighbors and some alleged murder of a wife, there’s absolutely nothing else in common.

Look, those two people right there? They basically summarize the entire movie. 🙂

Sly was incredible in the first Rocky, the first Rambo, in Fist, and especially in Copeland.

"Remember When I Said I'll Kill You Last, Sully?
-Yes!
-I lied."

Or that bit where the guy kills someone on a plane:
"Please don't disturb my friend, he's dead tired"

😁

Look, sorry if this is getting off-topic, but I just had to weigh in.
Honestly, action flicks from the 80s had better comedic timing than 95% of the "comedies" being churned out today.

Honestly, this movie hit the spot for me. It was exactly what I needed right now. 🙂

I think the main reason it worked so well was that I went in with zero expectations, especially since Guy Ritchie was at the helm.
But here’s the thing—it doesn't actually feel like your typical Guy Ritchie flick, which honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible.
Sure, there are a few plot points that are pretty much staring you in the face—like, come on, we all know who the "inside guy" is—but that didn't ruin the experience for me one bit.

The bottom line:
It's a solid action thriller that doesn't try too hard to be something it isn't.

I see some people out there expecting something along the lines of Bernardo Bertolucci or Ingmar Bergman... well, good luck with that while you're busy watching movies starring Jason Statham.

ruggedhawk20 said:Yeah, Senna had a crappy start and Hakkinen was right on his tail—just plowed straight into him. If Senna hadn't botched the start, Hakkinen wouldn't have hit him.

The steering column snapped because of the impact with the wall.

So, what? If someone rear-ends you on the highway, it's somehow your fault? Ridiculous.

We finally got to see a showdown between McLaren Racing and Ferrari, and thankfully not just for 13th place. Little Lando Norris is really growing into a seriously impressive driver.
Yuki Tsunoda scoring points—honestly, it makes me happy (the first Japanese person on the board who isn't driving like a total maniac).

No other driver on the grid would have stood a chance today if they were in Lewis Hamilton's shoes. And as for Valtteri Bottas—to use that old American saying: "If he didn't have bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all!" Though, let’s be real, the guy probably wouldn't have been much of a factor anyway, even if they hadn't completely screwed him over in the pits.

Sure, Fernando Alonso looks solid sitting in 16th, trailing Esteban Ocon by about 0.3 seconds.

Max was absolutely dominant, and seeing McLaren perform this well—that’s honestly what I’ve been waiting years to see.🙂

And then you'd have Lance Stroll coming in second.

Diego wasn't the tiebreaker in a fair fight; he was just dead weight that allowed a mediocre team to skip ahead without breaking a sweat.

Your favorite influencer "proved himself" plenty of times when he actually needed to win and failed; he only took titles when he was handed a convincingly superior car. Even with a machine like that, he still lost the championship to Nico Rosberg, which tells you everything you need to know about his skill level. He's average. He just got incredibly lucky to sit in the best car ever made. It's easy to be a champion when everyone else does 90% of the work for you.

Well, I can assure you I'm certainly not on cocaine like that criminal fraud, Diego Maradona.
Comparing an elite athlete like Lewis Hamilton to a criminal, a con artist, a coke addict, a cheat, or some mob lackey is honestly just tasteless.
That handball goal and that dribble straight from the center circle? That basically sums up his entire career—both on the field and off. One word: fraud. Two words: selfish egoist.

Back to the topic at hand:
I assumed George Russell would perform well, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to clock such impressive times. Unless he ends up getting caught in a collision or a podium battle (which is looking way more likely now that Romain Grosjean isn't driving), it's almost a given the kid will pick up some points. I’m genuinely curious to see if he can carry this momentum into qualifying and if he'll manage to keep a clean sheet against his own teammate.
Paul Thomas46 said:If I were going to watch this, it would need to move along at a much faster pace—like a campy B-movie...
Honestly, even standard feature films feel too long sometimes, let alone something dragged out through endless episodes.

Well, my experience is actually the exact opposite 🙂

I consider myself an old-school cinephile when it comes to movies, however...

Lately, there’s this massive hyper-production happening in Hollywood (not counting the weirdness during the pandemic era), where they pump out so much absolute garbage that finding a decent watch is a struggle, let alone finding something truly great. Sure, a masterpiece pops up once in a blue moon, but they're getting rarer by the day.

If I head over to a streaming site like Netflix or Max, out of ten new releases—seven are just bottom-tier horror flicks (and I actually love horror), two are some mindless teen nonsense, and maybe one will be a solid drama or thriller (if you're lucky, that is).

And then, when you finally stumble upon a genuinely good movie—it's gone in ninety minutes or two hours. Then it's back to waiting months for the next thing.

That's why I find series more appealing sometimes—when I actually find something worth watching, I'm set for a while. I know I'll have something decent to sink my teeth into for the next few days.

My biggest gripe with series, though, is how they just abruptly cancel seasons if a show is successful, or worse, how they lack a plan. You can really see with certain shows that the new seasons weren't properly mapped out; they're clearly just making stuff up on the fly. It's usually the same repetitive formula as the previous seasons, except five characters die off and they just plug in five new ones to fill the void, and then the whole narrative starts to fall apart.

So, both formats have their pros and cons. I watch both and try to find what resonates with me, regardless of the format. The only thing that really turns me off is this recent trend where they take a single movie and chop it into fifteen 7-minute episodes—essentially turning it into a micro-series. To me, that's completely nonsensical, bizarre, and impossible to sit through.
That first album they put out was actually pretty solid.
I honestly have no idea what possessed them to pivot toward that sugary, mainstream American pop sound afterward.

quiethound6 said:What Disney is pulling right now is an absolute disgrace. Where did all the imagination go? Where’s the creativity, the fresh storytelling, the actual new ideas? It feels like they’re just shamelessly milking nostalgia for films that were actually crafted by creative minds over twenty years ago.
The Lion King has been turned into nothing more than a CGI fest that looks uglier and significantly more boring than the original. Way to go, Disney. 👏👏

I couldn't agree more with everything you just said.
Turning a masterpiece into a cash grab like this is honestly unnecessary and insulting.
