P.S. It just hit me—I remember watching this kind of thing as a kid, sort of a hybrid series vibe...

Children of the Corn and Pet Sematary

So, looks like I'll have to swing by their office in person, huh!? Thanks for the lead! 👍

Man, just use Google! 😁 She’s an actress... 😉🙂

Brian Foster2 said:I was actually hesitant to brag about the Dawn remake—honestly, I thought you guys would tear me apart for it—but I have to admit, the remake was so incredibly good that I ended up going out and buying the original DVD just to complete the set.

As for Romero's "Land of the Dead," I’ve been hearing from some folks who watched it back in the day on digital downloads that it’s actually a fantastic movie, though quite different from his other stuff. They also mentioned it gets pretty gruesome; honestly, you’d probably have to cut at least thirty minutes of footage just to get a thumbs up from our local US movie ratings boards!

Well, we can only wait and see!

Man, that's awesome! Now you'll have to point Noah Watson4 in the right direction and tell him where on earth he can pick up an original copy of the Dawn remake...! 🙂

Thanks so much for bumping this thread! 👍

Exactly! Look, it’s a far cry from my usual rotation, but honestly, I’d be a total fool if I just stuck to one single genre! 🙂 I mean, if it lands in my hands, I'm giving it a spin—even Portishead! 😉 You might skip Massive Attack sometimes, sure, but you still leave them in the playlist occasionally, right? 😉

hollowseal33 said:So, I was just sitting here thinking about certain bands—one of those heavy hitters that basically defined their whole genre, you know? They were absolutely massive back in the day. I used to spend so much time spinning their records right alongside all that classic trip-hop stuff and that specific era of French electronic music (I’m talking specifically about Portishead). But honestly? It feels like a lifetime ago. I haven't actually sat down to listen to them once since then. It's funny how that works. Meanwhile, I'll still find myself casually picking up something like Kid Loca every now and then. It's just one of those things where the tastes shift and you realize how much time has passed. 🙂

So, can we please take a quick detour from the main thread? I’m feeling a bit of an itch to veer slightly off-topic and talk about trip-hop and all those messy, questionable ways people try to categorize it! 🙂 I’m looking for some suggestions! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

It honestly baffles me that nobody has brought them up yet.

Noah Watson4 loves Portishead!!! 😎

ps

you forgot about Day😉

Uh-oh! Here we go again!!! 🙂
Yap, I totally blanked on "Day..."! 😉
But listen, this remake actually caught me off guard more than any of Romero's originals! 🙂 It's gotta be that intense factor that really tipped the scales here!

I haven't actually sat down to watch it, but honestly, I’m just not really feeling it. I don't think I have much interest in yet another ralje meets documentary style attempt along the lines of The Blair Witch Project...🙂

Our dear legend, Romero, basically paved the way by spitting out Night of the Living Dead... which started the whole craze... then he gave us Dawn of the Dead... and, believe it or not, today he's working on... hmmm... Land of the Dead! 😉 BTW, regarding that remake of Dawn... the one that hit theaters back in the day—I actually think it’s much better than the original! Quite interesting, really! I was so against anyone touching a sacred classic that I was practically geared up to spit on it before the credits even rolled! I'm honestly glad I was "disappointed"! If we get more high-quality remakes like this... things might just be looking up! 👍

dustyscout53 said:Hey everyone, has anyone actually listened to W.A.S.P. lately?! They were the absolute kings of the bedroom! And "I Fuck Like a Beast"—man, I’ve been blasting that track all day long! Then once I finally got my hands on the Headless Children album, it was just pure magic!!!!
Here comes trouble with a capital T! 🙂
And then you have that ballad, Sleeping in the Fire, man, just wow.... 😍 😍 🙂
Then there's the other ballad, the one dedicated to his mother, Forever Free... 🙂 🙂 🙂
There's really nothing left to debate here; W.A.S.P. lives forever!

Honestly, those guys in Metallica were basically just their opening act back then... man, they were booking anyone and everyone during that era....

Ah, W.A.S.P. Trasheraj is a band that stands apart simply because they don't take themselves seriously at all! 😂 I mean, it's the kind of music meant for a rowdy party... you know, just enough to get the whole crowd laughing their heads off!!! And the singer... what a legend... he spins a grinding wheel for sharpening knives and uses a freaking bull horn to grind them on the wheel!!!! 😁 😁

Ugh! Americans and their damn obsession with cataloging every single movie ever made!! 😠 Those cursed predicates!
slyowl9 said:Come on, everyone, just think back to when Franjo Harmon passed away—remember how there wasn't a single movie in stock for three whole days? I have honestly never seen a video rental store look so completely stripped bare in my entire life.😁

Well, it’s not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, but yeah, that's pretty much the vibe! 😉
By the way, your avatar is absolutely stunning! 👍
Honestly, above all else, my heart just aches over the death of the pope. He truly was such an incredibly human being... though, I suppose it might be a bit much of me to say that we should cancel all our shows because of it! I can't help but feel that wouldn't really be in line with what the Holy Father would have wanted. I am certainly all for observing a day or two of mourning, but not in a way that shuts everything down! 😉

Fox News said:So, what’s your take on Axl Rose?😲

If we’re talking about the frontman for Guns N' Roses, then absolutely! 😉 I’d toss him in the same bucket as Chris Cornell... and hey, maybe even throw the late Kurt Cobain in there too! 😉 Actually, hold on... poor Chris Cornell, I really shouldn't lump him in with those two losers! 🙂

Oh, and by the way, Axl Rose is basically Sissy Spacek on steroids! I’ve actually got the proof right here! 😉

Brian Foster2 said:I absolutely adore Soundgarden, though I’m a big fan of Rage Against the Machine too—maybe not quite as much as the former, but hey, what can you do? I’m just sitting here waiting for a new album; maybe they’ve finally decided to get their act together!

Look, the die-hard fans are probably going to come for my head after I say this, but in my humble opinion, Chris Cornell has a voice so powerful it feels like getting kicked in the teeth by a rhino! 😲

Absolutely phenomenal............................

Oh, for sure, I’d recommend that movie too! 👍 To be honest, the character development wasn't quite hitting the mark for my specific tastes, but man, the animation itself is just incredible! There were so many hilarious bits that I was practically choking on my laughter! 😂
Larry Cruz51 said:.... the biggest AMC Theatres in town won't be showing any movies today, tomorrow, or Friday—the day of the funeral. Meanwhile, the second largest cinema, Broadway, has decided to skip anything remotely funny, just for today and tomorrow, which is what most other local theaters are following suit with as well.

The Guthrie Theater, the Metropolitan Opera, and even The Comedy Store have all announced they are suspending their performances. Everything should be back to normal by Wednesday....

Thanks for the heads-up! 😉 And here I was, thinking I’d spend my evening watching... hmmm... Hitler! 🙄
