I really ought to rewatch the first one. It’s been forever, and honestly, I can barely remember anything besides that one scene where his buddy gets blown up by a bomb brought in by a shoe shiner; that part just stuck with me.
I actually just rewatched the fourth one a few days ago, and man, it’s great. The only real downside is a couple of those clunky lines right at the start. I'm actually trying to track down the Director's Cut now so I can watch it again.😁
I think briskhound2 is right—his girlfriend is pretty much the only reason he even went looking for those missionaries.
He’ll absolutely wreck his life, and then he’ll just go around beating everyone else up too. Oh, and don't forget that whole "Luka, I'm your uncle" cliché. He’s got the physique of a guy who spends way too much time at the gym—all chest and glutes. Pretty mediocre, honestly.

Man, honestly, now that I've had some time to sit with it—it’s actually an excellent movie.🙂😍
Anyway, changing the subject—we were talking about Curtis Hanson earlier... I think he's the one. It leaked.... Since those movies were actually pretty great: I’ve been thinking about L.A. Confidential and Wonder Boys lately. Both are such solid picks. I guess they both just hit that sweet spot for me., I guess they followed up: I was thinking about 8 Mile and In Her Shoes today. Maybe I’m just in a certain mood, but they both seem to stick in my mind for different reasons..🤮
Panic Room is great; honestly, anyone who can pull a decent performance out of Kristen Stewart deserves an Oscar for their entire career.
I rewatched this a few days ago. Honestly? It’s a masterpiece. I’m still just as blown away now as I was the very first time I saw it. It’s raw, gritty, and just totally brutal. Val Kilmer🙏 was incredible. If the movie had gotten more hype, I bet he would've walked away with an Oscar. My only real issue is that ever since I saw Kilmer with a beard, I can't stop mixing him up with Bridges.😁

This sounds pretty interesting to me, especially since you can draw some parallels to today’s consumer culture and everyone constantly maxing out their credit cards. I wonder if people would still be swiping like crazy if the consequences were a bit more heavy-handed—not quite this extreme, obviously, but maybe like having your house or car automatically repossessed if those debts aren't settled on time.
I don't know, the whole concept feels a bit forced to me. If they just focused more on the action and less on the deep philosophy, I think it would actually be great.
I just watched the trailer and, honestly, the whole concept seems pretty stupid to me. If you don't pay up, they just show up and rip out your heart, or your kidney, or your liver... then what? Are they just going to leave you there to die?

Just a heads up, you’ve gotta give them some time to break in, so don't be afraid to really push them.😁
I honestly don't think those 20W specs mean much—actually, they probably mean nothing at all. I'd bet the amp is basically identical and the drivers are the same size; I guess the 3000 just has a slightly larger cabinet. Regarding the bass, it’s soft and smooth, which is exactly how it should be. You aren't getting that cheap, "hammer hitting a floorboard" kind of thud or any distortion. It isn't incredibly powerful, but if you set them up right—maybe keep them at least 8 inches away from the wall on the back and sides—you can get a really solid sound out of them. I can't quite remember what I paid for them, maybe somewhere around $133.
