I bet they'll just tack on The Prodigy—who have already played here—instead of booking an actual band that hasn't visited us yet...
I can’t quite wrap my head around this. I’ve seen them twice and they’re incredible—but this lineup just feels off...
It looks like we aren't getting any more big names unless they decide to pull a surprise zero day
Gregory Harris8 said:I don't really get why everyone's obsessing over adding another day—as if the length of the festival matters more than the actual ticket price. They could tack on three more days, but what does it matter if they just fill the slots with mediocre local acts? Honestly, looking at the current lineup for these two days, it's already feeling pretty thin—gentleman, The DØ, Biafra, Cypress Hill—so stretching it out might just make the filler even more obvious.

Look, Cypress Hill isn't "filler"—plenty of people will show up just for them. As for the extra day, maybe they're trying to replicate last year's move when Alice in Chains played; they probably have someone in mind. Though, if they actually added a third day, it would be the perfect opportunity to bring in SOAD.

One LIKE = ONE VOTE FOR DAY ZERO! Hit that Like button if you want a Day Zero festival—something that can only happen if we get backing from Washington, D.C. How many of us are actually out there?

p.s. where are the insiders hiding—any fresh intel? 😁

I know they're missing—left them off because their tour schedule isn't even listed on their site yet.

It would be helpful if someone just put this in the original post.
If I recall correctly, there was talk last year about Bad Religion being on the shortlist for the festival lineup—who knows, maybe they’ll actually pull it off this time
Frank Grant36 said:Hey everyone—I didn't catch the full lineup details, which is a problem since I really need to know. Does anyone have the exact set time for Arcade Fire? I'm heading out around noon, and since I'm coming from 249 miles Chicago, I need to plan my transit accordingly. Thanks.

Given they're easily the biggest act at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival right now, you can pretty much bet they'll hit the main stage around 11 PM.
Most of those European Union artists will probably end up on that second stage—which is total garbage anyway. They can just go over there and endure the nonsense. 🙂
Mind you, I'm actually into reggae, so it might be worth checking out.
"Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo presents their more mature third album, 'Morning Glory'—a record that proves they belong at the absolute peak of modern post-rock on a global scale. They’d make the perfect opening act for The White Stripes."

Sounds more like an announcement that they're headed for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival next... though I've never actually heard a single note from them.

It's an AMD Radeon X1600. I did some digging online and apparently the card should support this resolution—at least on paper. I installed the latest drivers, but "latest" just means they haven't been touched since February of last year. Typical.

Quick question for the experts here. I picked up a 22'' monitor that’s supposed to hit 1920x1080, but once I get into the settings—after all that trouble—it won't let me go past 1600x1200. Any ideas on how to actually unlock the resolution I paid for?

It takes a hundred listens to really sink in, so stay patient. Grab the full album and listen straight through; they're conceptual, almost like one long song. It’s heavy lifting for the ears, but once it clicks... 🙏 To me, they're the strongest new metal band out there, right up there with Disturbed.

I have to admit, Crack the Skye grabbed me immediately on the first listen—though their older stuff still hasn't quite clicked, no matter how many times I try, even if there are some gems in there somewhere.
They just scan an ID or maybe the front page of a student card—but honestly, it all depends on whether they feed those details into a central database. If they do, other locations could easily flag if someone’s already burned through their student discount. It's worth looking into.

edit: It’ll definitely clash with something else I actually want to hear—like Arcade Fire—because honestly, who on earth listens to both 😳 :|

No, I checked that immediately 🙂
Arcade Fire is playing on the 21st, while Mastodon is hitting Bulgaria that day—so they aren't even in town until the 22nd. 🙂

Morgan Palmer2 said:I dig heavy sounds, but right now... maybe our definitions of "heavy" just don't align. I'm not exactly a metalhead—though I suppose I could be—so why not? I'll give it a listen. Any specific tracks you'd suggest starting with, so I don't waste my time on something that misses the mark? 😍

The whole album feels pretty uniform to me—maybe Oblivion, Ghost of Karelia, and The Last Baron stand out slightly. If you want to ease into it, try the instrumental versions of Oblivion and Divinations.
Morgan Palmer2 said:Yeah, right... I'd love to see that...

Well, if you're actually into that heavy stuff, sure🙂
—I don't usually touch progressive metal, but they're alright in my book.
goldenlynx30 said:Wait, were they actually at Coachella before?

No—they haven't even played in the States yet. This is their first time.
Honestly, this is just too good. For anyone who missed out or hasn't even heard their name before—do yourselves a favor and spin their latest album, "Crack the Sky." It’ll probably win you over in no time. 🙂
Well, I see they'll have cold beer on tap—and I’m betting Overflow will show up too, especially since they're dropping a new album after five years.

edit: actually, maybe I'm off base. It's starting to look like rap, hip hop, and that whole scene might just take over at this Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.😢
