Just finished watching Dropkick Murphys - Live at Madison Square Garden 🙏
Hands down one of the best concert DVDs I've ever seen. Absolutely flawless—it's a shame I haven't had the chance to catch Murphy's in person yet...
I wouldn't even serve this swill to pigs😁
all those mass-produced beers are absolute garbage—but if I'm forced to pick one, I guess Budweiser will do
I couldn't care less about The Streets—but I was actually caught off guard by the news that there'll be six stages

It says valid until April 14th—or whenever they run out of stock—and mentions limited availability. Honestly, I doubt they’ll even sell through the lot, so you’ve probably got another month to decide. From what I gather, it’s open to all students, even those of us who graduated ages ago—if you can actually navigate the bureaucracy.

Poor old America—it’s a tragedy that nobody has even thought to bring the Dropkick Murphys here yet. 😢

It feels similar to Appeal to Reason.

True—it does feel like Appeal to Reason. I don't know, it’s decent enough, much like the last album, and I find myself playing it constantly—but the tracks all start to bleed together after a while. It just doesn't have that same edge anymore.

Last year, a friend told me the lineup would include Dropkick Murphys, a Kawasaki Ninja, and SZA.
And she was right—all before they were even officially announced. So, I trust her. 🙂

Everyone knew about the Kawasaki Ninja way before the festival was even a thing. 🙂
As for SZA... does anyone actually listen to her??? 🤷
Fine, okay, Dropkick Murphys—that’s a solid pick.
But I’m still not buying it that Kings of Leon are coming—it feels impossible—and I certainly don't believe Prodigy will show up either.
Morgan Palmer2 said:I didn't even bother looking at the index—I just slid it across the desk—but now she’s asking for my ID...

Same here—just checked the ID, then ended up copying it for the files and Xica just to be safe. But let's move on; the sale is done. Now we just wait for the next lineup to drop. 😁
Carl Mendoza87 said:I’d probably rush over there myself these days—if they didn't insist on seeing an ID and a Xica card. Since I'm already busy wooing this new girl, my student status is basically non-existent anyway...

The website claims you can just show a state ID and a student ID, a Xica card, or some official transcript. Personally, I finished college three months ago and still managed to snag a ticket. It says my student privileges are valid until October 15th, 2011—not sure if that matters, though. I doubt they actually cross-reference a Xica card with a national database to see if you're still enrolled.
Got my ticket. Handed over my ID and credit card—standard stuff—so they've got my info copied, but at least the pass is finally in my hands. 🙂

I caught them last year at Coachella—they were decent enough, I guess.

I haven't been following this thread closely, but what's actually been confirmed so far?

The White Stripes, Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Cypress Hill, and Jamiroquai.
Morgan Palmer2 said:Look, don't make me call you narrow-minded—do you even have an ounce of taste?

Here’s what they're actually talking about...

Haha. I'm listening. Truly a profound realization from such a master of intellect.
Coachella, happening June 21st and 22nd at Central Park, is bringing some massive global headliners to Washington, D.C., though there’s talk of adding a third night. Of course, that all hinges on negotiations with City Hall—they're demanding $350,000 just for the field where the festival sits.
Morgan Palmer2 said:Are we talking about those random local acts they book every year—or what...?

Here's more detail.
Karen Green97 said:and then there’s Cypress Hill coming through.

Not exactly my cup of tea—but I suppose it isn't terrible.

The new Rise Against - Endgame track is out. Official release drops in a week 🙂
Alice in Chains definitely wasn't on the lineup at first—if I recall correctly, they were one of the last ones announced. I don't think they even mentioned them in the TV spots initially, though they eventually did
What a masterpiece. Caught it a few days ago—heading back for a second viewing today. Absolute legends.
Morgan Palmer2 said:You mentioned they were there last year—yeah... if you look at all the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festivals globally compared to those 200 performers and 15 headliners from last year, this year’s lineup actually feels like a step down with just these four:

If I may weigh in—I don't think they missed the mark with Arcade Fire, though Grinderman feels more suited for a side stage than the main one. TV on the Radio is still decent enough given last year's roster, but Jamiroquai? That’s just silly—certainly not headliner material, in my opinion. It's underwhelming.
Megan Miller31 said:I’d much rather head to Lollapalooza—where I'm certain the lineup is already looking stronger—than sit around waiting for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to drop the rest of their roster, assuming they even bother to please us at all. 🤷

The bands are significantly better. Out of the few acts they've announced for Lollapalooza, two are actually slated for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. And that's not even counting the DJs, the house music, or whatever else they throw in there.
