😵 my bad—I meant this applies to proteins rather than nitrites, sorry 🙏 mea culpa

There’s definitely an uncut DVD out there—full 100% stuff. I actually bought the standard one first, then realized a week later there was an uncut version with a bonus disc... (picked it up over in Austria)

😎 I already got the DVD 😉

but you might be mixing up The Grudge and The Grudge 2
You might want to get those kidneys checked out—nitrite showing up usually points to kidney issues, since a basic bladder infection shouldn't be throwing nitrites around on its own.

Cranberry is a solid call, though maybe stick to tea—you really need to flood the system with fluids to "flush" everything out.

Since there are nitrites present, I'd put the kid on a low-protein diet just to take some of the pressure off the kidneys.

And antibiotics, obviously.

(So, what was the doctor's take?)

I'm feeling meh about it—watched it right after The Ring, Phone, and Dark Water, and honestly, The Grudge was the worst of the bunch. Plus, I'm just not a fan of SM Gellar

Yeah, it totally feels disconnected, and The Grudge just looks like a cheap rip-off of the others—same tired color palette every single time

btw, Phone was definitely my favorite out of that group (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0323630/)

nah, it's just because they have more than one speculum (just like a GP has multiple throat swabs or a dentist has more than one set of those little needles)

Gross

I'm all bloated, exhausted, and my brain is basically mush

And my "peak" 😠 experience? Stepping out of the shower only to be sweating again within 15 seconds—ugh, gross👎

The AC is running in the living room so it’s fine there, but everywhere else👎

I just want some snow😛

Jamie Johnson6,

I just replied to that thread about how and when gynecologists actually sterilize—or "clean"—the tools they use on patients.

The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way in your post was you using the term "public clinic." I don't get why doctors working at community health centers get such a bad rap—even if they do—but honestly, I doubt I could find a more skilled or competent doctor even in some high-tech private practice in Beverly Hills.

Look, I wasn't saying you were making stuff up. It’s totally possible you saw that happen, even if I haven't personally dealt with it—my doctor always uses those paper sheets, so everything feels super clean. 😉

As for the instruments, it never even crossed my mind that any doctor—not just OB-GYNs—would grab a used tool for an exam. I mean, if they did, they'd be completely losing their license, right?

Sterilizers are standard everywhere—general practitioners (for those little throat swabs or whatever), dentists, OB-GYNs, surgeons, you name it.

Those little ones look just like a microwave—and no, it’s not actually a microwave 🙄 it’s a sterilizer—but yeah, they make big ones too.

Anyway, I don't get why everyone's making such a big deal about seeing an "insurance-based" OB-GYN? I’ve been seeing my doctor through my insurance plan for years and he’s freaking amazing. Honestly, I doubt I’d get any better care at a private clinic—it’s not like the private guys have some magic way of sterilizing their tools.

And as for catching something on the exam table... 🙄 I mean... how do you even know it didn't come from the gym, a tanning salon, or the nail tech?

Actually, let's be real, those "insurance doctors" probably don't even bother sterilizing anything—they probably just toss everything into a dishwasher on a bio cycle without a detergent tab at the end of the day.🙄 👎

And instead of using speculums, they probably just grab some pliers from the local AutoZone.

I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. You only sent "je"—is there something you wanted to talk about? 🙂

So, Sinersul is an antibiotic—but just to be clear, it’s definitely not a penicillin-type one.
blonde_hair said:nah, I'm just allergic to penicillin so I don't touch
those kinds of antibiotics

Sinersul is a sulfonamide—so it's actually the go-to choice for anyone with a penicillin allergy!

Basically:

sulfonamides are one thing
penicillin is totally different

It’s all super individual, though. Hard to say if Sinersul is "good" or "bad" since everyone reacts differently—personally, I can take almost anything, but Amoxicillin makes me break out in hives, so I steer clear of that.

@Walter Smith8 - if you're getting side effects that heavy, I'd hit up a doctor and ask for an alternative. Stopping an antibiotic course after only three days isn't smart either; if you don't finish the whole prescription, you risk building up resistant bacteria, and then you're stuck with something that won't even work when you actually need it.
Gerald Lopez6 said:I've got some Johnson & Johnson cream—Pfizer stuff, I think—that's supposedly for fungus. Is it actually any good?

No way—Johnson & Johnson is for fungus (specifically Candida), but don't just go rogue and start treating yourself without asking someone first, because...

If you start slathering that Johnson & Johnson stuff on before seeing a doctor for swabs, the results are gonna be totally useless—it’ll mess up the whole reading. Plus, if it isn't even Candida, you're just making things way worse for yourself.

Look, I'm a woman—but honestly, I have zero clue what's going on here. I'm assuming you mean "General Availability" or maybe just a quick hello? Either way—I'm here. Just hanging out. Man, you’re really out here acting like that—seriously, whatever. 😉

Seriously though, there’s zero shame in seeing a doctor—don't sweat it. Trust me, they've seen way worse than this. Just grab a referral from your primary care doc and go see a dermatologist or a urologist.

Honestly, I don't think it's anything crazy—but seriously, just go see a doctor. Only they can actually tell you what's going on.
Laura Lewis13 said:vertigo?

😁 vitiligo—unless you meant vertigo, which is just dizziness 😉 )

those white patches... depends on where they are, but if they're on your scalp, it's probably just a fungal thing or maybe leukoplakia

just go see a doctor

Peter Hernandez53 said:How many hours have you guys managed to pull without sleep? — I’m currently running on nothing but caffeine and bad decisions.

36 hours—though I was only 18 at the time. 😉 Couldn't make it happen today—but honestly, I just crashed and slept for like 18 hours straight right after.

I’m pulling maybe 5 or 6 hours on a typical weeknight—honestly, I’m basically running on fumes—but then I’ll crash for like 8 or 9 hours over the weekend and call it even.

Man, I really miss those weekday afternoon naps—seriously, my soul needs them. 😛 Post-lunch vibes... honestly the best part of my day.

I know a girl who broke out in hives all over her forearm—wasn't TB either (she’s always been pretty allergy-prone, so maybe there's a link there)—which is why I played it safe with the "could be" and "maybe" stuff

Anyway, glad to hear everything turned out fine 🙂

What is the Democratic Party? in Health ·
If we're talking about the Democratic Party, you’re probably looking at a TB skin test—you know, the one where they poke your inner forearm and see how much it reacts to the TBC stuff

If I remember right, anything up to 7 mm is usually considered normal—though I'm not 100% sure. If there’s zero reaction, it basically means you have no antibodies and should probably get vaccinated. But if you hit 20 mm? That’s a massive reaction, which could mean that maybe you’ve actually got TBC (plus a ton of antibodies from an active infection), hence why it reacts so hard

- assuming it was a TB test (?)

nah, they aren't even sweaty... (if they were, I'd get it), it’s just constant little electric shocks 😕
