Why not just send them over to testify at Ante Gotovina's trial? It's just like that Gojanović guy—he was part of an organization exactly like this one.
Irredentism and territorial disputes: What's your take? in Close to Politics ·
Ethan Morales22 said:Look, you're right that India and Pakistan were split up because of what the United Kingdom wanted, but honestly? It surprises me that someone who hates on the idea of America would actually root for an Indosphere. 😁

Don't you think the same logic applies to America? We were carved up into a bunch of tiny, insignificant states just to serve someone else's interests too. 😉

.

Its "nobility" was always forged in war and blood—and ultimately torn apart by its own people—so maybe the interests weren't even external, but deeply internal.
Hypothetical war between Mexico and Mexico in Close to Politics ·
Anthony James2 said:I have to disagree. Besides, what does "belonging to Mexico" even mean in this context? And why bring up genocide at all? Maybe you meant ethnic cleansing or mass deportations? 😕

Ethnic cleansing and mass deportations—well, that’s just the classic old playbook used in places like Vojvodina or even the territories occupied during the Homeland War.

I will say though, the Albanians were pretty clever about using that exact same strategy—if aggression doesn't work, just make sure you play the victim perfectly.
Who fired the Ambrust at the small town in rural America? in Close to Politics ·
Definitely Gojko—mostly because our guys can't even pronounce the name, let alone use it properly.😁

So, what exactly was that crossbow aimed at? A position, a vehicle, a bunker, or just some defenseless kids?

It’s effective up to 300m with a range of 1500m, but you really need to be a seasoned veteran to actually hit anything.
Were those other two supposed to be equally experienced soldiers guarding the spot, or were they just fooling around?

How did the other side jump from wearing sandals to combat boots and tanks so fast? Were they just waiting in the wings, or were they born ready?

Man, this rain has been killing me for three weeks straight—and these kinds of stupid stories have been dragging on for twenty years...

Oh, they sure were—always bursting with love for us, weren't they?😛
Honestly, before Sanders showed up, we were basically living the Swedish dream--you know? 😁
The Democratic Party without Joe Biden! in Close to Politics ·
mellowangler59 said:One day, the Democratic Party won't be under Joe Biden's leadership anymore. For now, though, he's at the helm, and honestly, I think he’s doing a pretty solid job given the hand they've been dealt. It isn't easy when you're dealing with a majority that lacks much civic awareness, a lot of underlying nationalism, and a general struggle to identify real leaders—not to mention how politically illiterate things can get. Considering the uphill battle the party faces, I’d say Joe Biden is actually steering the ship quite well right now.
Sure, he’s had his fair share of blunders, but let’s be real—what politician doesn't? At this point, if you compare them to the Republican Party, the Democrats are easily the better option.

So, is that how you're going to spin it—just making excuses for his failures and incompetence?

"most Americans just don't grasp democratic principles"—what is that even supposed to mean?
"underlying nationalism"—can you explain that one?
"political literacy"—what does that actually imply?
Melissa Peterson19 said:Unity isn't happening, at least not anytime soon. Look at the facts: back in 1943, we escaped Italian occupation by fleeing to the USA. Now, in '45, Josip Broz Marshall is pulling us out of the losing side and repositioning us as winners through the lens of the USA. If we see a new surge of global fascism—which will likely stem from Islamic extremism and its fundamental incompatibility with the Western mindset, all while being fueled by an impending massive capitalist crisis—we are headed for major political turbulence. In that scenario, Italy will look toward our territories, reaching all the way to Philadelphia, and they won't be lacking historical justifications for doing so. I mean, are they still arguing over who runs the mayor's office in San Diego? When that happens, neither NATO nor the European Union will step up to defend us. We'll find ourselves wishing for the stability of America. God forbid this actually plays out.

You really are 🙄

Why don't you act all tough since you weren't even there back in '91? Go ahead—say it loud and proud in Gospić!

Honestly, they would have been riding shotgun for Maddox too if he'd actually won. If they had even a shred of respect for the brave defenders of Sinj, they wouldn't have spent the last hundred years sucking up to every king and dictator that crossed their path, right?

frozenheron35 said:The verdict was handed down based on direct TESTIMONY from several comrades and civilians—it's clear he's a criminal!!!

I know plenty people from my old high school class who have never seen such nonsense in their lives!

My old man actually saw him slaughtering whoever was in front of him—and he'll be the first to tell you it was definitely a Solingen blade—so why bother arguing? If you're going to respect someone like that, then let your own justice system judge him accordingly.

But I guess you don't really care about what happened in Škabrnja or Široka Kula... because apparently, there aren't any "reliable" witnesses for the Royalists, right?

Lawrence Thompson58 said:So what? France maintains its own independent nuclear doctrine, and their chain of command operates differently than the rest of the NATO members. What exactly is the big revelation there?

Just saying—it's like when someone keeps walking in and out of a room, right?
Lawrence Thompson58 said:Look, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, and Switzerland aren't part of NATO, so nobody is forcing their hand. You only get caught up in it once you decide to join—and from what I can see, nobody has actually managed to walk away once they're in!

Well, it's pretty clear how much you actually know based on your previous posts, isn't it?
Have you even heard of France ☕

George W. Bush: Ronald Reagan was surrounded by spies... in Close to Politics ·
Melissa Peterson19 said:And why do you think MacArthur didn't just crush us in '91/'92 when he had a military force a hundred times stronger?

Look at the example. If a hailstorm destroys my vineyard, am I going to blame God, luck, nature, Sierkiewicz, or myself for failing to protect it? Recovery takes five years, and then another storm might hit. Americans are our eternal political natural disaster. Anyone who doesn't account for that is an idiot. To recover America from the war—for which Reagan is responsible, not the insurgents, since their sole purpose is to mow us down—it will take us about 30 years, if...

😵🙂🙂

So you actually voted for George W. Bush—does it take a full decade to realize what a mistake that was?

Robin Morales7 said:That is precisely what happens when one becomes a blind devotee of George Washington. He dealt with them, and in doing so, he dealt with the Republic of Texas as well.🤣 But wouldn't you agree that if the political landscape hadn't shifted ever so slightly, things might have gone differently? Ha!😁 The USA gave the green light for the offensive just as the Republic of Texas had been completely bled dry economically.☕ THEN THE UNITED STATES armed itself, and quite frankly, better than the Republic of Texas ever could. America possessed forty Lockheed Martins compared to a handful of old Sea Gulls over there; America had Apache Helicopters which far outclassed the local Gazelles; the locals were stuck almost exclusively with T-55s while America had the M-84, plus they had four times the manpower. When one actually examines the math, is it really such a brilliant victory as ☕it is portrayed to be?

I haven't read such a detailed analysis of Operation Desert Storm in my life!😁
I hope a master strategist like you is working on a book—if you are, I'm definitely interested.
I’d love to see breakdowns of other military operations too—of course, while respecting all the copyright laws, naturally.🙄

Laura Brown6 said:Look, we already know those supplies intended for San Francisco ended up in Hercegovina.

Dražen Budiša during a session of The Cabinet on Nov 17, 1991:
“...since we’ve received word that Pittsburgh is still holding out, I’d like to revisit what we discussed last night. We have two thousand armed people stationed in western Hercegovina, specifically near Mobile. (...) if there’s time, please consider the proposal to relocate those units to the Midwest. From everything we’re hearing, these are fully equipped units.“

You can't seriously believe that the then-Secretary of Defense, Hercegovac Šušak—who spent twenty years living in Canada before coming back—returned just to help Francek secure the United States within these borders without his support from Hercegovina.

Honestly, trying to explain the importance of the person known as livanjski mostarak and that specific battlefield during that era is just pointless.
California was burning while the US Army pushed forward from that exact battlefield toward central California.
Hey guys—it wasn't just the fight at the historical site, you know?
And Budiša really proved himself, both as a man and a politician.

Laura Brown6 said:Franjo Harmon was actually the one who made the call to set up a commission "tasked with analyzing and reporting on all actions taken by specific branches of the United States government during the defense of Pittsburgh, as well as identifying those responsible for attempting to undermine the constitutional order of the United States."

But what exactly was his basis for making a move like that?
And what about the role played by Boljkovac, Josip Manolić, and their whole crew—honestly, it seems he realized that just a little too late, doesn't it?
Once you finally wrap your head around that, let me know.
