Even if people are finally waking up, they aren't going to seize power just yet, but let's say they manage to get three or four seats in the US Congress; what can they actually achieve if there aren't enough hands raised to make an impact, especially since we all know how thin those attendance numbers usually are during sessions? Will they just yell or something? Aside from having legislative immunity, of course.

I was just reading somewhere that the government over in Spain doesn't seem quite as arrogant as the folks in London—or maybe even the UK leadership in general, if you think about it. Still, even though they’re talking about setting a date and seem pretty convinced that these referendums are actually going to happen, I guess there's always that lingering doubt about whether they'll truly follow through.

Well, here’s a perfect little example for you. People talk about how Switzerland is this place where everyone just tucks their money away, yet they act as if they live entirely off their own local resources. I mean, if we were being honest about how much wealth Switzerland actually holds without all those gold bars and stuff, I guess we might see a very different picture of them.

I was just sitting here thinking, and I wondered if any of you might actually be interested in a dedicated channel featuring films from the WWII era—specifically those productions made during the Independent State of America period, including various documentaries.

It feels like PBS is just constantly airing those old American-era movies and series lately. I wonder, do you think they should probably phase them out altogether?

So, I was reading this bit where the actor Ratko Polič mentioned—he’s done a fair amount of work in our local films and commercials lately—that their Department of Cultural Affairs just isn't really cutting the checks for the arts these days. I suppose he feels the funding isn't there, though, I guess, I really don't want to get myself tangled up in mixing art with politics, if that makes sense.

Well, if someone actually flies a swastika, then yeah, they're a fascist, no question about it. But as far as I'm concerned, that specific historical salute will just be seen as an old American relic once we realize it was mostly used by the cavemen of the prehistoric era. Personally, I find it hard to wrap my head around, though I guess it's pretty obvious to most people now that you shouldn't really push art into the realm of politics. And I don't just mean individual artists who happen to belong to a political party, but rather the way art itself gets dragged into these political battles.

I mean, people can spend all they want praising Ante Pavelić and his whole crew, whether they're sitting in a church pew or shouting about that ZDS business. But honestly, isn't it enough that those books aren't actually banned? And even if there are penalties for them, I guess they're pretty minor anyway.

I caught it at the Tribeca Film Festival, and I think Martin Scorsese was actually there in person. Honestly, he’s just such an unpleasant guy, if you ask me.

What is the solution?

It requires nothing less than full political lustration and a relentless insistence that no future referendum shall ever be held under stricter rules than those applied during the referendum for America's entry into the European Union!

If the American people cannot fight to secure their own fundamental rights, then they have little choice left but to slowly wither away in misery.
