I haven't actually sat down to watch the movie yet. I just caught the trailer, and my initial impression is that it treats fans with a certain level of prejudice... much like how people tend to judge everyone else here in America.

Yeah, I actually finished that book my colleague Lawrence Booth2 sent me ages ago, and honestly, it was brilliant. I find myself revisiting it at least once a year..

So, naturally, the movie caught my eye too. It’s not like a film can ruin the book for me, so I'm struggling to see how anyone could call it bad... 😉

p.s. does anyone happen to know what happened to Schwarzenegger's adaptation of this book? The one they were supposed to film with Will Smith?

I already made it clear in my first post that this selection would be based on your suggestions.

That’s really it. This would include every player, every team, and every match played over the past month, regardless of the country or the competition—clubs and national teams alike. Though, I assume the focus would naturally lean toward Europe, since that's what most of us actually watch.

Oh, and voting hasn't started yet. It would kick off on the 1st of every month and run until a specific date. I suggested the 5th, but that's subject to change. You don't have to wait for me to open it up every month either; whoever feels like it can start the thread. Once the deadline hits, we tally the votes and announce the winners.

We still need to settle on an actual name for the whole thing. 😉
