I’ve gone ahead and lifted your ban, but I really need you to stick to what we agreed on.
Smith in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, let's keep things civil—no messing around with people's passwords or usernames. If you pull that kind of stunt, I'm hitting you with a six-month ban. And honestly, if you don't feel like coming back to the forum after that, then don't.

The ban has been lifted. :)
AFL-CIO Moderation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Bradley Carter12 said:After three years away from the AFL-CIO forums, I decided to pop back in and drop a single sentence—just a quick attempt to help a fellow member navigate an obvious issue they were struggling with. I figured I’d make my own little contribution to the thread. But man, talk about instant karma... I was flagged and wiped out within five minutes flat.

I have to give it up to Robert Martin23 and that impressive plumbing expertise of his, I really do, but honestly? It’s just not right to confuse a casual hobbyist forum with actual paid technical support. There is a massive difference between a space meant for informal, open conversation and a workplace where your boss is breathing down your neck, counting exactly how many tickets you close every hour. One is about enjoying your downtime, and the other—well, let's just say they aren't even in the same universe.

Hey Robert Martin23, if it’s just me being paranoid, then honestly, whatever! But if you're seeing this too, man, you might want to take a second look at how that PDF file is actually named.

Thanks for sticking around and reading!

I see that your post got nuked where you were replying to this:

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but I just had to jump in because my mind has been racing since I read that last thread. It feels like we’re constantly hitting these walls where things just don't add up, you know? I was sitting there thinking about what everyone was saying, and it really struck me how much we overlook the small stuff when we're looking for big answers. It’s like when you’re trying to fix a leaky faucet in an old house in Chicago—you think it’s a major plumbing issue, but turns out it’s just a tiny, worn-out washer that nobody bothered to check. That’s exactly how this whole situation feels to me right now. We are all searching for these massive, sweeping explanations, but if we actually slowed down and looked at the granular details, the truth would probably be staring us right in the face. I'm not saying anyone is wrong, per se, but I do think we might be overcomplicating a very simple reality. I'd love to hear if anyone else feels that same sense of frustration, or if I'm just spinning my wheels here! kaže:
So, we took a good, hard look inside the unit, and honestly, everything looks pristine—there isn't a single scorched component or any sign that anything has actually burnt out. But here’s the weird part: if you listen really closely, there's this faint little "thump-thump" sound coming from the circuit board. It's incredibly subtle, almost like you have to hold your breath to hear it, but it's definitely there.

Bradley Carter12 said:Oh man, you really don't want to see water getting into your electronics. It’s one of those heart-stopping moments where you just freeze up, staring at the device, praying that nothing catastrophic happened under the hood. Once moisture hits those circuits, it’s game over unless you act fast. Seriously, if you ever find yourself in this spot, don't even bother trying to turn it on to "see if it still works"—that's the fastest way to short everything out and turn a bad situation into a total loss!

If anyone ever needs to reach out to me regarding my housing situation, just know that I've basically been under a self-imposed gag order around here!

Maybe that first sentence actually fits the topic, even if it's a bit problematic, but honestly, the second one is just completely unnecessary and totally off-topic—if anything, it feels like pure trolling. Look, Bradley Carter12, this isn't the place for that kind of stuff. If someone’s looking for you, they'll find you, so bringing up those supposed "bans" in quotation marks is just pointless.
Cuka, what counts as trolling here? in Banned Users Corner ·
Jeffrey Adams said:And rustydrifter10 just keeps staying silent because she’s perfectly happy with how things are, even if it means everyone else gets screwed over.

Look, don't try to shift the blame here or play dumb. The real issue isn't some supposed "liberal agenda"—it's those bearded monkeys running the show.

Aww, guys... 🙂 🙂
Yep, all set. 🙂

Maybe we could turn this into a dedicated thread. 😁
Avant-Garde Lonely Hearts - Myth or Reality? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, you haven't actually pointed out any real issues here. It’s perfectly fine if you aren't a fan of a particular moderator, but please wait until you have a legitimate grievance before you start complaining about them. And hey, if a specific thread isn't your cup of tea, feel free to just skip it and move on. The new crew brought in some changes, and honestly, we should have expected that not everyone would be thrilled right away, but it seems like enough people are enjoying things, and the PDF system is working smoothly. I’m asking you, please don't go filing formal complaints unless you actually have something concrete and substantial to report.
Why was the thread about free speech and discrimination locked? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, here’s my take: personally, I don’t have any issues whatsoever with how Zoran Oštrić handles his moderation duties. If anyone actually has a specific, tangible grievance, feel free to bring it to the table—it'll be reviewed just like anything else—but at the end of the day, the final call on what happens next rests with the site admins. As far as I'm concerned, Zoran Oštrić is doing a great job as a moderator, and I have absolutely no intention of seeing him removed from the History forum. If anything, I'm really grateful for everything he does and the effort he puts into keeping this PDF section organized.
Honestly, I feel like everything important was already covered back in the second post. Look, let’s not hide behind the concept of "freedom of speech" just to drag other users or the moderators through the mud—it’s just not cool, and frankly, it goes against the rules to go after someone without actually having any proof. Every kind of freedom has its limits, and yeah, that includes freedom of speech too.
Oštrić - Persecution and Banning in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Zoran Oštrić really went above and beyond putting all that energy into this thread, and honestly, I’m so grateful for the effort he put in. If Anderlon or Strile have anything else they want to throw into the mix, please, jump in! As for me, I think I've said my piece.
Can someone explain why I was banned? in Banned Users Corner ·
My bad, there was a bit of a mix-up on our end! So sorry to keep you hanging, too—I had to dig through a few things to get this sorted out. You're all good to go now, so feel free to jump back into the discussions. Your ban has been lifted! :)
Is it just me, or is the PM section getting toxic? in Banned Users Corner ·
Richard Lewis16 said:No worries at all, there are about 15 of them floating around, so I'll just report them and see how things play out.
Well, you'll definitely find out what happens next

At the end of the day, it’s always up to the admins whether they decide to hand out a penalty or not—that’s just how it works here.

I wouldn't bother reporting old posts. If it happened a couple of days ago, sure, but don't dig too deep.
Is it just me, or is the PM section getting toxic? in Banned Users Corner ·
It really just comes down to what was actually said and how much of a personal attack it was. At the end of the day, it’s up to the admin to make the call.
Is it just me, or is the PM section getting toxic? in Banned Users Corner ·
You really ought to report that message; you can handle it once your ban is lifted. At the end of the day, insults are insults, whether they’re posted publicly on the board or sent through a private DM. People tend to think direct messages are a safe zone where they won't get flagged, so there's a higher chance for toxic stuff to slip through the cracks unnoticed, but let me be clear: those messages aren't exempt from the rules. If someone breaks them, they still face the consequences.
