Once Upon a Time in America in Movies ·
This movie is just a damn naive waste of time. I honestly didn't think anyone was still making films with that tired "bad guys want to take over the world (or Mexico, in this case)" plotline, especially paired with such incredibly gullible action sequences—like when two guys are gunning down Antonio Banderas in a cramped hallway and he doesn't even walk away with a scratch. The only thing that actually felt like it followed any kind of logic was Timothy Cox2's former avatar being the law in this story.

I actually thought the show was decent enough... right up until I actually started watching it. Can I toss three more eggs at poor little Felicity?

I'm straight too—which just gives me more reason to 🙂 👍
I’m honestly proposing we invent a specialized machine gun that, at the mere press of a button, fires ten eggs per second. It would feature an ignition button, but naturally, there wouldn't be an off switch. I’d aim five or six of these things toward J-Lo, though I suppose Lara Flynn Boyle deserves some

Thanks a bunch 🙂
For all you Lucy Liu fans out there, do yourself a favor and check out "Play It to the Bone." Is the movie any good? Not really. But Lucy Liu basically carries the whole thing on her back, so it might be worth the watch anyway. 👍 👍 👍

I only sat through the first part, and honestly? I wasn't feeling it. The plot felt way too tangled up in itself. Don't like it.

Lucy Liu is an absolute knockout, seriously, she’s stunning... but even she isn't enough to make me sit through that mindless drivel 🙂

Honestly, Americans pull off even worse stunts than we do; it’s just that when we act out, it looks like mindless chaos, but when they do it, they wrap it up in a neat little bow and call it "fighting terrorism."

I guess this just goes to show that stupidity doesn't care about what passport you hold. It’s a total utopia to think we can all just get along perfectly, but this? This was way over the line. Honestly, the behavior of those fans felt like watching a spoiled three-year-old having a tantrum because they didn't get their way. I really thought we were going to conduct ourselves with some level of class—you know, representing our side properly—but what happened had absolutely nothing to do with sports or basic decency. It’s honestly tragic that the fans from Mexico were acting just as bad. It isn't about old wars or whatever; it’s just a fact of life that there are idiots everywhere, whether they are Americans or Mexicans. It also hits close to home knowing how much damage they've caused to America over the years. By the way, the comments on this thread have been enough to make anyone cross themselves; any sane person would condemn both our fans and those Mexican fans during that game against the Lakers. "An eye for an eye" isn't just a saying—if everyone actually lived by that logic, there wouldn't be a single living soul left on this planet.

I’m on the exact same page as the person who started this thread.
"dad of format" was actually... decent enough.
But everything after that? It’s just a complete waste of talent. Look, the guy isn't stupid, but why does he always have to play some dim-witted idiot? It’s the kind of low-brow humor that wouldn't even fly with a five-year-old.

The ending is basically Bullseye lying in bed, covered in casts, while a fly buzzes around his head. He grabs a syringe, slams the fly against the wall with it, and mutters, "Bullseye!"

I hope that was enough to scare off the masses and save them twenty bucks. You can all thank me later. 😉

Amanda Cruz68, sure, Daredevil is an old-school comic, but the movie script feels totally fresh—no apologies needed there! My only real regret is that I didn't head over to the box office to ask for my money back 😠
And honestly? That final scene was actually pretty cool 🙂

Jesse Kern6 said:Look... the movie is based on a superhero comic book. Don't act surprised if you weren't expecting it to bend reality or anything... it's just a popcorn flick meant for pure entertainment without any deep thought involved...

Sure, but the comic was actually engaging—it had style and some actual substance. This? It’s just mindless. The costume is garbage, and every single scene is so laden with clichés it hurts; you could predict the whole thing without even using your brain. I went in looking for "pure entertainment" without overthinking it, but honestly, this movie didn't even manage to deliver on that simple promise. What a waste.

Timothy Cox2 said:Honestly, that’s easily the best scene in the whole thing.😁

Oh, come on, did you miss the ending? He finds that Braille medallion left behind by—wait for it—a woman! So, clearly, she didn't actually die...
Spider-Man in Movies ·
I honestly went in expecting something mediocre, but man, was I wrong... I haven't seen anything quite this incredibly naive since I was a kid watching Power Rangers on Saturday mornings!
The whole thing is so predictable that you can basically call every single scene before it happens; it’s just a collection of tropes we've all seen a million times before.
Here are a few of the more "interesting" choices the filmmakers made:

Apparently, giving Daredevil heightened senses—aside from his sight—somehow grants him the ability to leap ten feet in the air and twirl a stick around like he’s leading a high school marching band.

Then you have Print and Delete just standing there side-by-side.

And don't even get me started on the plot. It’s an absolute fever dream.🙄
It follows the most basic formula imaginable: drop in a good guy (Daredevil), pair him with a "witty" sidekick, add a love interest, a priest, a ruthless assassin, and a big bad villain. Toss in some vague connection between the girl and the boss, and you've got a movie. Calling this film "brainless" feels like an insult to brainlessness; even a single-celled organism would find this too mindless to process.

redowl90 said:Look, that argument doesn't hold water, because you knew all this before the movie even hit theaters here... You already knew the synopsis: young Frank was the ultimate con artist in the USA, and after getting caught, he started working for the FBI... That’s the whole point of the movie: it’s essentially mocking Americans for being so incompetent they had to hire a criminal to solve their own fraud cases...

Um... from what I've read about the film since, Frank Abagnale actually did work for the FBI in real life, so maybe it wasn't some stroke of screenwriting genius, but just following the actual facts of the story.😕
And please, don't lecture me on "points" of the movie. The only real point of this shallow flick is to entertain the audience—which clearly failed for me, so my complaining is perfectly justified!

As for that choice to end where it begins? It’s a trope we’ve seen a thousand times. In my opinion, though, they handled it poorly this time; jumping from the end back to the past felt totally disorganized.
I really don't see how anyone calls this a masterpiece, because honestly, Spielberg's movies tend to get on my nerves. And I don't just mean his typical commercial blockbusters; even E.T. was so tedious I could barely sit through the whole thing. Ugh.

redowl90 said:Honestly, I have no idea what anyone found boring about this movie. For me, it flew by, unlike something like Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which felt way too drawn out...

And don't even get me started on the music and that opening sequence?? My god, it was absolutely intense (in a good way)...

Overall, the movie is solid, definitely worth a watch... And honestly, if you're one of those cynics who just can't stand Spielberg, maybe just stop watching his movies altogether...

I don't know about you guys, but I felt every single minute of that movie—mostly because I "figured out" the ending two hours before it actually happened (and no, I'm not psychic)

That opening sequence was such a cliché-ridden mess—I mean, he runs away from it and then just escapes because they slap some giant "T" on the screen representing an Executive Producer's initials. wow, how original!

After seeing stuff like this, I really don't get why people obsess over Spielberg. Look, I'm a tolerant person, but I truly don't see what's so spectacular about this film. It feels like they took a perfectly good story and ruined it with unnecessary dramatization. Gross.

P.S. That critic clearly hasn't a clue. He didn't catch the mother being unfaithful, he just made a clever deduction, and his old man wasn't stealing from employees.
