Having lived in Miami for a few years, I remember being at this wedding where they started playing those old-school local anthems, and the crowd just completely froze... nobody was feeling it at all. But the second they switched over to some classic pop hits or those big mainstream radio songs, the whole party finally came to life. I honestly don't quite get how people can find themselves dancing along to those heavy, melancholy ballads about life passing by...

I'm right there with you. Makes no sense.🤷

Maybe they're just masochists who actually enjoy feeling miserable.😍
I’ve been smoking for a few years now and my weight just won't budge. My mom smoked for about a decade and ended up packing on like 45 pounds during that stretch. She still smokes today and she's sitting at around 200 lbs—easily 40 or 50 pounds overweight. So much for that logic 🙂

basically, my hair gets super greasy but the ends are always bone dry (curly hair struggles, you know)
and then there’s the dandruff on top of everything else.
so I head into the CVS, thinking I'll just grab a Vichy anti-dandruff shampoo, but the clerk hands me something specifically for "dry" flakes... she asks if they actually fall onto my shirt, and I told her yeah, a little bit... then she tells me that oily dandruff doesn't even flake off like that, so she gives me the dry scalp stuff instead. honestly, it feels like she totally steered me wrong.
is it even possible to have an oily scalp but dry dandruff, or did that lady just mess with me?

wtf?? 🤣🤣

have you tried any of those natural brands from Whole Foods?? and also that trick where you don't put conditioner on your roots, just the ends? worked wonders for my brother🙂
Sex is fine, but my OBGYN says no?! in Women's Health ·
I actually went to get on the pill before I even had sex. I made a deal with my mom back when I was 13 (😬) that I wanted birth control 🙂

Then, at 16, I got into my first real relationship. After about 2 or 3 months... I decided to run away, and my mom came with me... (obviously, she didn't walk right into the ☕ clinic with me)

Got the prescription, took them for maybe a month, and then we finally 😉😉

After that, I went back for two more checkups (my first real ultrasound and a Pap smear) and I've been going once a year ever since!
Reaction to semen in Women's Health ·
I've been there.

Up until now, I’ve only had two sexual partners—both long-term relationships—and I was on the pill for both. With the first guy, everything was fine, but with the second... man, what a nightmare. I’d get these burning sensations that would last for 15 or 20 minutes straight. It was so intense I felt like I wanted to claw my own skin off. One time, I actually had to duck into the bathroom and just break down crying because it hurt so much.

He was my first, and I am one hundred percent sure he wasn't cheating on me, so I knew it wasn't some STI. I even went to the doctor for a full checkup—which sounds kind of intense, 😬—but they couldn't find a single thing wrong. To this day, I have no clue what caused it. We eventually just started using condoms again because it felt stupid for me to be suffering like that every time we had sex. 👍
I'm so sorry 😢

My grandma passed away out of nowhere. She'd been feeling under the weather for days, then one night she ended up in the ER because of breathing issues—asthma stuff. She was gone just a few hours later. Honestly, I’m still kicking myself that I didn't get one last chance to say goodbye..

Hang in there. I know it sucks right now, but I bet your grandma wouldn't want you stuck in this grief. I know that doesn't make the pain go away, but it's better that she went peacefully rather than fighting a losing battle for years in constant pain.

🤔 that’s a bit 🤔

My old lady ended up paying through the nose just for two hours of "post-op monitoring," let alone a full day or night—and that wasn't even including the extra fees for a private room. Honestly, compared to that, this is a total steal. 🤔

Grab your confirmation and then you just gotta file a claim with Medicare (pick up the paperwork from them and hand it back in)🙂
So I took a little detour to see how the Spanish actually teach on this site . You can grab some CDs later if you feel like it, but no pressure!

Honestly, I think you should just go give it a listen. Once you hear it, you'll realize pretty quickly if their method feels like an uphill battle or not. They let you check out the first few lessons for free 🙂
URGENT: Need help ASAP!!! in Health ·
brightorca4 said:Alright, look, my mom is dealing with this absolutely brutal, unbearable pain in her left shoulder. During the day, it’s somewhat manageable, but at night? She can't get a wink of sleep. She’s only 45. She describes it as this sharp, stabbing sensation in the joint. This whole thing kicked off just two days ago—she woke up one morning and the pain was just there. I'm starting to get really worried about this, so if anyone has any insight, please reach out ASAP 😢 ..... She tried taking some over-the-counter painkillers, but they didn't do much of anything. Seriously, if anyone has advice, please let me know 🙂

My grandma went through something pretty similar with her arm. She went through endless tests and doctor visits, but they couldn't find a single thing wrong. Then, after a while, the pain just vanished as quickly as it showed up. 🤷

Fingers crossed for you guys 🙂

Benjamin Gray88 said:thanks for the advice. survived that part, now i just gotta get through the colonoscopy... honestly, i had one last year but they rushed me through so fast i barely even realized it happened. this time? definitely not lucky. i don't know what to do anymore. i can't eat. every single bite feels like a gamble. my stomach hurts, my gallbladder hurts, my gut is just killing me—and yet all the test results come back perfect. after months of this hell, i'm spiraling into a pretty dark place, and then some doctor at the clinic actually asks me, "maybe you have anorexia?" ???????????????
Like i wouldn't be eating if my digestion hadn't basically ghosted me. Right now we're basically living like roommates in the same body; she's out there doing her own thing while i'm just trying to exist, but this monster is winning. Dammit.

this is written so perfectly!! it hits the nail on the head for exactly how i feel... 🙂

Draft software/randomizer recommendations? in Software ·
stormygardener24 said:So, here's the deal. I need some kind of randomizer or a draw program. Like, something to pick matchups—kind of like how they do it for the Champions League or whatever. Hope that makes sense.

Basically, you've got a massive pile of stuff and you just want to pull out, say, two random bits of data? 😕😕
My partner's past in Psychology ·
mistyraven said:I'm spiraling over my partner's past.

Look, I get it—the present is what matters, and exes are exes for a reason. But still...

Yesterday, during a conversation, I found out something I really shouldn't have. I know, I know—it’s ancient history, and we’ve been together for three years now. But somehow, this jealousy just flared up out of nowhere. Picturing the person I love doing... certain things with someone else? Yeah, not exactly a great feeling.

We were just talking about our past relationships versus how things are now. Then they dropped something on me that totally floored me. I didn't even want the details, but there it was...

I basically just stood up, grabbed my stuff, and walked out. No words. I know it wasn't the right move, but I don't know why I'm struggling so much to accept that there was a whole life before me.

Now I'm a mess. I can't even bring myself to be physical with them—it's like their past makes me feel physically repulsed.

Is this just being possessive? Or am I looking at some kind of pathological jealousy?

Man, I feel you. Maybe too much so... I don't really have any advice, because if I did, I would've used it on myself instead of beating myself up like I have been lately.. 👎

briskskipper71 said:Why do I get the feeling you both act like little boys? I mean, seriously—it’s just so childish and immature. You have every right to keep your former partners around, but the other side doesn't really have a choice since they can't stand you.

And what if they are? 😕

driftinggull21 said:I don't see the point in exhausting yourself over things that are fundamentally unchangeable.🤷
The past is set in stone.
If you have identified yourself—which you clearly have—as a jealous and possessive individual, then I am sorry, but that is your burden to carry, not his. You need to learn how to manage those impulses if you intend to sustain a relationship with him or anyone else.
Jealousy and possessiveness are purely destructive to partners.

But how am I supposed to *not* stress? (Seriously asking here, not trying to be provocative 😛)
Motion sickness remedies? in Health ·
I feel you, honestly. I’ve tried pretty much everything under the sun, but nothing's really moved the needle for me yet 😢
I don't know, man. Just feels like one of those things where you gotta go with the flow. Sometimes you just gotta sit back and see how the chips fall. kaže:
So, I haven't had a single bout of vomiting—whether from some nasty flu or too many drinks—in five years straight. Before that, though, I was getting hit by those seasonal bugs at least twice a year. It’s wild how much things change. 😕

My old man used to go like fifteen minutes between bouts of puking... totally normal stuff. Honestly, the older you get, the tougher your system becomes. You aren't just catching every little bug going around like some kid does.

As far as booze goes, I’ve never been one to get sick. Honestly, I can go through a few rounds and still feel totally fine. 😁
How to stop biting my nails? in Health ·
Grace Lewis58 said:so you're actually embarrassed????!!!!
that's enough reason for me to just quit altogether!!!!
then there's those ridiculous little "hacks," like rubbing chili or pepper on them—as if that's supposed to fix wounds or anything!!

those tricks are honestly pretty laughable (like you said), and totally useless too...

I used to be a total nail biter for years, but what worked for me probably wouldn't work for you, so... I just decided to let them grow out and cover them up with nail art instead.. 😬

I totally get how you feel, but the only advice I can really give is to just stop touching that nail. 😍
Risky or not? in Health ·
Still in school? So you're basically still a teenager... Honestly, dropping weight that aggressively while your body is still growing might not be the smartest move.

As for the plan, I’d say skipping dinner is usually more effective than cutting out lunch. Also, try to cut back on the bread and pastries as much as you can.🙂
I totally get where you're coming from... I was the exact same way.

For the longest time, I basically dodged any kind of interaction with people I didn't know. Like, seriously—even stuff as basic as ordering a pizza or calling the local library to renew my books... I just couldn't do it. But then college happened, and I had to figure things out on my own. It’s not like I was gonna call my mom to handle my business when I could just pick up the phone myself, right? So, I started small. Just making those calls, then chatting with people before or after class... and honestly, it actually helped. The anxiety isn't nearly as bad anymore.

Just don't quit on yourself, okay? And stop beating yourself up over what you did or didn't say. Dwelling on it is just a waste of energy and it only makes things harder for you. 😛
