Is Lana Wachowski transitioning? in Movies ·
The Wachowskis 😬 managed to squeeze almost everything they could out of Keanu Reeves. He was incredible, though—truly amazing in "Gift." Regardless, he was the perfect choice for the role in The Matrix.
Oracle: Not too bright, though. 😉

Amanda Lopez50 said:...don't be like that—maybe he'll actually start filming more exciting or better "erotic" scenes, instead of that total DISASTER in The Matrix Reloaded🙂

But what are you supposed to do with an asexual Keanu Reeves?😬

Whatever, it isn't exactly "Citizen Kane" 😬 but it’s still a blast. If I recall correctly, the pacing was a total mess, but it’s still fun to watch. 👍

So, "Day of the Beast" or "The Day of the Beast", TUESDAY, 12:40 AM, on the first PBS channel. It's an Al Pacino film—not a masterpiece, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun.

Don't come crying later saying, "We didn't know," or "When did that air on TV?" 😬

A horror / fantasy comedy. After years spent digging through religious texts and the Book of Revelation by St. John, a Catholic priest named Angel Berriartúa concludes that humanity is facing total ruin because the Antichrist is set to be born on Christmas Day somewhere in Madrid. Not knowing exactly what or where he's looking for, Father Angel heads to the Spanish capital, where the streets are already ruled by chaos and violence—clear omens of the coming cataclysm. While searching for signs to pinpoint the time and place of the unholy birth, Father Angel meets a series of bizarre Madrid locals who decide to help him in his mission to destroy Satan: a violent heavy metal fanatic named José María, then a popular TV host and parapsychologist named Professor Cavan, a boarding house owner named Rosario, a girl named Mina who's obsessed with television, and the beautiful Susan, who seems to attract trouble wherever she goes...

Richard Hernandez13, glad you actually took the time to read everything properly 👍

I'm heading off right now to binge The Matrix movies and hunt down every single gender-bender moment I can find 😬

P.S. For those wondering, here's one more thing for the road.

Directed by the Wachowskis?

The Wachowskis 😉 👍

Amanda Lopez50 said:...does it even matter? I mean, sure, the media loves this stuff (digging into people's private lives always sells), but does it really affect us whether Lana is still Lana or if she changed her name/gender...???
...does it make The Matrix trilogy any better or worse???...

Good grief... obviously it doesn't matter, but you can't deny it's interesting.

...if the person is happier, I'm all for it—who knows, maybe the change gives them a new "perspective" when directing films, and we as viewers actually benefit from that. 🙂

Sure, assuming they *are* happier. 👍 But I'd really rather this thread doesn't turn into a debate defending the decision to transition, because that's not even the point.

Amanda Lopez50 said:...besides that, the mustache look is actually pretty cute. 😍

Interesting comment.
I don't usually care for those, but that one was well-chosen. 😉 😂

Personally, I think it'll be even more fascinating to watch all that fetishism in the movie now that we know where it comes from. 👍

Come on, come on. I can't believe nobody has read this Rolling Stone article titled
.
Could the life of a Hollywood director be stranger than fiction?

Is Lana Wachowski actually transitioning? How does all this change your take on The Matrix trilogy? Is life really stranger than fiction? 😬

It’s a damn shame this isn't getting a wide theatrical release! 😢
But whatever, I can't wait to finally catch it tonight. 🎉

I was just thinking the other day how much I’d love to rewatch it—plus, I don't even have it in a decent format for home viewing! This totally made my day.
um (this and Ella 😬 )

I don't have any newspapers handy, and the ABC News website isn't giving me anything useful beyond a brief note that it's airing on the main network:

17.00 film classic: The Wizard of Oz, American film

Is that THE Wizard of Oz? Is this actually happening? Oh boy, I am just thrilled!!!! 👋

That movie tape is just sitting there in some dusty, damp video rental store basement, tucked away in a box labeled "old movies we haven't tossed yet." If you’re actually serious about buying it, what’s stopping you from just heading over to Amazon where it's only six bucks?
DreamWorks studio sold in Movies ·
Sure, Steve could have signed a directing deal with DreamWorks, but let's be real—would the big bosses even authorize those kinds of massive director fees? 😉
Miller's Crossing in Movies ·
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! This was all before the brothers ever crossed paths with George Clooney and things went completely off the rails! 🙏 🙏 🙏
Alias (2001-2006) in TV Series ·
I’m not actually watching the show, but I just caught a glimpse of the trailer. It looks like David Cronenberg is guest starring in tonight’s episode. 😁 If anyone is tuning in specifically for him—though we might all want to collectively erase his last two films from our memory banks—it might be worth a look...
Steven Spielberg's early films in Movies ·
The Frighteners was basically his ticket into the big leagues, though it felt more like a shrug from the industry—like they were saying, "Sure kid, go shoot this and we'll see if you actually have what it takes." Honestly? It’s easily his worst work, or if we’re being pedantic, the only real dud in his entire career. 😁It’s watchable enough, sure, but it lacks everything that makes Spielberg, well, Spielberg. I have to admit, watching it for the first time was a massive letdown for me, especially since I had already binged everything else he’d ever done.

Whatever. It’s just a tiny blip in the rearview mirror now. We’re all just waiting for King Kong!
👍

p.s. Someone once described Meet the Feebles as "muppets on acid," and honestly, they nailed it. It is hands down the most insane puppet movie ever made—you’ll be choking on laughter from start to finish! 👍
