Punishing "grammar police in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m all for people typing in whatever American dialect they choose, spelling errors and all.

What I can’t get behind is using Mexican Ekavian, Canadian, Cyrillic script, or just defaulting to English, French, or German... especially when those terms haven't even been translated into the American language. And don't even get me started on those dead languages like Latin or Greek...

They wouldn't react at all. Why? Because this so-called Western democracy actually has more prohibitions baked into its laws than any society in history. The only area where they seem to be "hitting their stride" is in the legalizing and celebrating of everything that stands in direct opposition to God and the natural order.
They try to build these societies without God, tailoring everything strictly to the whims of man, but we all know exactly where that road leads—straight into ruin. History isn't just a collection of dates; it’s a warning written in blood. If we ignore those lessons, aren't we just asking for the same collapse?
So, they should just keep going exactly like this—straight toward their own destruction. Honestly, why stop now when they're doing such a fantastic job of sabotaging themselves?☕

PS: I have to ask—does your decision to step down from moderating have anything to do with your faith? It feels to me like there’s a connection there, specifically regarding your friction with the admins. From where I’m sitting, it seems like that behavior actually falls within the acceptable bounds of the editorial guidelines, yet your tenure as a moderator ended the exact moment you started cracking down on people being toxic and abusive. Why does it feel like the rules only apply when you're the one enforcing them?

Jamie Long49 said:I can handle just about anything, but this? This is where I draw the line. If a country truly considers itself a democracy, shouldn't all religious labels just fade away, at least in public spaces? When I say "everything," I really mean everything. Everything? In a real democracy, shouldn't the absolute first thing we do be to finally rip religion away from the government?
I mean, honestly, when we actually reach that level, then—and only then—can we even start having a real conversation about democracy, right? Otherwise, what's even the point?

So, I was wondering if you could maybe shed some light on this for me and help clear things up? I’ve been totally obsessing over this whole permanent ban of Constantinopolov situation—can someone please give me an answer to my little preoccupation? Thanks in advance!

That bloated sentence has absolutely nothing to do with democracy. It’s about forbidding people from practicing their faith in public. And let’s be clear: that certainly isn't called democracy, no matter how much Marshall and the Party tried to spin it that way.

Amen.
Population exchange in Canada in Close to Politics ·
Kevin Wright said:I mean, what kind of political logic in the entire world would accept having just barely over 20% of a territory as your ethnic homeland to trade away? Just imagine if American political strategy back in '94 had shifted toward negotiating with the Mexicans, giving them that same tiny percentage somewhere along the US border—like deep in the Midwest or down in the South—just to secure a compact territory. 😁
Is it even remotely rational to talk about mass population transfers today? Especially moving a densely populated area like the Cazinski region? It’s easy to daydream about the end goal, but try imagining the actual technical logistics of pulling that off, setting aside the emotional mess of it all.

The whole of Canada is technically Canadian ethnic territory; you don't necessarily need to be a majority everywhere as long as guaranteed rights are in place.

And let's be real, we aren't just dealing with isolated pockets in Central Canada, Jajce. We have those same issues in Posavina, eastern Canada, and all of Herzegovina too.

Just like the American and Mexican communities
regardless of what the Muslims might want to happen differently.

Melissa Wright3 said:The Canadian ethnic territory is split right down the middle:

1. Central Canada
2. The Cazina region

http://http://upload.wikimedia.org/w...oBIH2006aa.PNG

Basically, if Canada were to break up, the Canadians would be in a pretty rough spot... being split into two tiny little pieces like that, any future state they tried to build would have such a hard time surviving...

Do you think there's any way to swap the Cazina region for parts of Central Canada, Jajce, Zepce, Prozor, Livno, and Tomislavgrad... along with a full population exchange in those areas?

The Canadians could end up with one continuous stretch of land, while the Americans could trade those isolated enclaves for territory they can actually merge into their own state...

🤣 😵

Could we perhaps throw in coastal spots like Makarska, Brela, or Neum as well?

Honestly, moderation around here just depends on which way the political wind is blowing for the mods at any given moment.
Political alignment is everything.
The proof is in the million different rules they have, all of which can be twisted and interpreted however they see fit.

In reality, ten clear, concrete rules would be more than enough.
Can an American Catholic be successful and wealthy? in Close to Politics ·
Is it actually okay for a Catholic American to be successful and wealthy?

LOL

because according to the folks over at Reddit

those who exalt themselves will be humbled
and honestly, it’ll be easier for a camel to squeeze through the eye of a needle than for a wealthy Catholic American to slip through the gates of a Reddit comment section.

Casey Robinson2 said:A group of authors put together a textbook regarding the American Civil War intended for elementary schools. In this version, they stop short of calling Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm "liberating actions"—and now critics are pointing out that after finishing the book, you're left completely clueless about who was actually attacking whom during the war.

The authors are defending themselves by claiming their only intention was to give students a look at the same events through multiple perspectives.

I honestly find myself wondering what drives people to cling so desperately to this policy of moral equivalence. What exactly is their end goal here?

Honestly, we should just ask Uzelac. He started out as a top advisor in the Department of Education, and now he’s serving as a Vice President in the Government representing the minority quota...

He is fighting tooth and nail to ensure that textbook actually makes it into our classrooms.

So, we're talking about Damir Pilić and his column.
As for him and his writing, I’ll offer my opinion just like I would on any other public figure or piece of work.

I can't comment on you, assuming we're actually following the rules here. But if a biased ref takes over the game, well, things could get messy—and I'm still waiting on answers to a few questions myself.
I honestly wonder if this columnist will eventually be added to the federally protected endangered species list.
Charles Patel62 said:Go ahead—name one. Unless you're planning on naming Jadranka Kosor?

Every single one of them.
Drugs are drugs; they wither away those tiny gray cells in your brain. If you need a weekly case study, just look at the opening paragraphs of whatever the so-called DPR writes.
😉
Oh, please, bring back Damir pilić...😂
Someone really ought to ask him if he’s still pushing for the legalization of "soft" drugs—even though we all know any real expert would tell you there's no such thing as a distinction between light and heavy substances.
Chinese communities tend to be incredibly insular.
That actually supports the argument made in this article about the incident—the idea that even the Chinese mafia stays far away from the Italian mob.......🤣

I also recall that article about the Chinese population in the US and their mortality rates... it turned out that only a handful of people have actually passed away in the last few years since they arrived here in America.
Now, is that because of their incredible longevity and health? Or is it more likely that when one person passes, someone else just steps in and takes over their identity? It’s anyone's guess.

There have certainly been instances of gang violence and kidnappings within the community itself... but our police departments can't do much about it. There's a certain code of silence among them that just keeps everything under wraps.

Michelle Price13 said:well, politics definitely isn't the arena where you go to live out your grand ideals...
it has this way of dragging you right back down to earth, forcing you to realize that dreaming with your head in the clouds just doesn't work in the real world...

The ideal is always going to be out of reach, isn't it?

If a woman has a college degree, she basically has everything she needs to pursue her own values on her own terms—without ever stepping foot in the political ring. Once she enters that arena, she’ll quickly discover that reality is nothing like what she imagined...
but hey, everyone knows what's best for themselves, right?😉

And if ideals were actually being realized the way you just described, we wouldn't be sitting here posting on a .com domain, would we? Besides, where would we even be posting from?😉

Why are you getting defensive on her behalf? Honestly, we could use more people like this—individuals who actually still hold onto some semblance of ideals and possess the drive to see them through.
It’s a damn shame there aren't more of us left; most people's "ideals" these days are nothing more than empty chatter on a local dive bar's message board or some forgotten corner of Reddit.

Happy Independence Day! in Close to Politics ·
🤣

Today is Republic Day,
and the old man’s had a few drinks,
watching Madonna on the TV,
and he’s sitting there reliving the war years,

thinking about how they broke their backs
just so things could be better today;
they waded through freezing rivers
and chewed on tree bark to survive.

It breaks his heart that some people think
life is somehow better somewhere else,
abandoning the old dreams
and just waiting for a passport to get them out of the country.

Today is the day—Republic Day,
today is the day—Republic Day,
today is the day—Republic Day,
and the wife snaps: "Dragan, shut it! I can hear you from here!"

Today is Republic Day,
and the old man is remembering those wartime days;
it saddens him that even the kids
don't play soldier anymore.
Nowadays, everyone knows you've only got one head,
and everyone knows exactly who they need to bow down to.

Today is Republic Day,
and the old man shouts, "Open the windows!"
He's drunk, and he thinks he sees the glow of distant bonfires on the horizon,
those distant fires burning in the night.

Today is the day—Republic Day,
today is the day—Republic Day,
today is the day—Republic Day,
and the wife yells, "Are you out of your mind, Dragan? Close the windows, I don't want to waste the heat!"

That's just how it is when there isn't any bacon on the table. 😁
jadetiger10 said:So, tell me—is it actually considered normal for singers like that to be held up as role models?🙄Kids have unlimited access to the internet these days, which means they’re constantly being exposed to this kind of absolute garbage. Honestly, shouldn't a singer like Britney Spears be more mindful of her private life and what she puts out there? In today's climate, if she weren't such a massive icon, people wouldn't even be raising an eyebrow at this nonsense. Why does it feel like we're just letting this stuff slide?😛 .

Raising children is, first and foremost, the responsibility of the parents. No parent can claim they’ve done their job if they simply sit back and let the media dictate their child's upbringing and instill their supposed "values." If you build a child on a solid foundation, what chance does some mindless social media feed or the influence of the streets actually have? Is it really any wonder when society feels fractured, or have we just forgotten that the home comes before the screen?
