Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Gary Hernandez6 said:I don't follow. How can that be true when the statute of limitations hits exactly two years after the ruling becomes final?

Simple. They send you a decision dated two months ago, and that tells you everything you need to know.

It’s always 8 days—or whatever the statutory period is for filing an appeal—after every single party involved actually receives the decision and signs off on the delivery receipt. Technically, you can drag the whole thing out just by dodging the paperwork. Plus, the statute of limitations for these kinds of infractions is two years. If a final ruling hasn't been handed down by now, the whole case is dead in the water due to expiration.

I get that, but the point being made is that they seem to be backdating the finality. Imagine this: tomorrow the statute of limitations hits, and then seven days later, he gets hit with a "final" ruling from the Supreme Court that was supposedly signed a month ago.

Findings like these only ever seem to pose a problem for women. 😛

I’m lost on how the statute of limitations works once a citation is issued. If I contest it and it goes to court, when does the clock actually run out? I can't quite wrap my head around it...

Look, you show up to court to give a statement, then you deal with a hearing, and then you wait on a ruling that you have the right to appeal to the Supreme Court.

I find it hard to believe the Supreme Court operates that way. Are you absolutely certain about that process? 😲 😲 😲
Before the show even started, he was hunting down olive oil 😕
Then, after we finally tracked some down at 10 PM, he just snorted it right up 😕
Claims it’s his way of clearing out the sinuses 😁

Straight to the police station, because the cops showed up pretty damn fast. 😁
Dana Anderson4, you don't know what you're talking about. You think Berry killed it while everyone else flopped 😁

The concert was a complete train wreck. Total lunatics 🙏
Dana Anderson4 said:No, he's Russian (Russia borders Finland, check my avatar)😁

It’s just a short boat ride from St. Petersburg to Helsinki, and honestly, you can't tell which city has more heavy drinkers.😁
Look, Billy is still alright, but that accordion player? He was the textbook definition of a drunk stumbling off a Greyhound bus. He reeked of booze from the moment he stepped off the plane 😁
Jessica Wright said:Who's crazy? It’s not like I let some Russian wander around Washington, D.C. alone after way too much booze and god knows what else.😁 😁

Whatever, hope it works out.👍 And hopefully they come back.😁

Why aren't you coming then? Billy should be the priority.😁

Last night was pure madness, man.🙏
They've arrived 👋 👋 👋

They’re settled into the hotel now, and they'll be playing a little set at a party over at Route 66 tonight to kick things off before tomorrow's big show 👍
Look, they aren't an official cover band; 😕
says so right there. It just mentions they played with him and collaborated on projects after starting out as a cover band. But obviously, you can hear the influence of Waits in their original stuff.
There’s already a thread discussing them, but here is the actual concert announcement:

The Beatles - Tom Waits of Russia at Aquarius on July 4th

The Beatles are arguably the most iconic group out of St. Petersburg. Formed back in 2001 as a trio, they draw their entire creative DNA from the work of Tom Waits. Their discography currently boasts three studio albums—"Being Tom Waits," "A Little Bit of Death, a Little Bit of Love," and "Paris Seasons"—alongside a legendary collaboration with Tom Waits himself.

In Russia, they are a massive club attraction. The lineup features frontman, vocalist, and bassist Billy Novik—whose gravelly vocals are a dead ringer for Waits—alongside harmonica player Anton Matezius and guitarist Andrei Matezius. Novik describes their sound as "funeral Dixieland with an endless happy ending," blending apocalyptic Tom Waits-style blues with gritty street romances. They are known for intense, theatrical live shows, having even delved into musical theater with productions like "Blues in my Heart" and "Being Tom Waits."

Beyond their three albums, they composed the soundtrack for the black comedy "Night Trader." They are currently working on a new record titled "A Postcard from," largely because fans keep telling them that their records don't do justice to the raw energy of a live set. When they play, they bring a sense of community and grit that defines every show. They are a powerhouse at home and have even conquered Paris. Frontman Billy Novik actually walked away from a career as a pathologist just to commit to the band and the relentless touring schedule. You can catch this incredible live experience at Aquarius in Chicago on July 4th, 2005.

Nicholas King62 said:It’s been happening forever, but ever since the Pixies hit it big again, it turned into a full-blown epidemic...

I think the actual epidemic has been ramping up over the last five or six years. Sure, the Pixies' comeback is huge because they managed to take a club-level sound and blast it through massive arenas, but globally speaking, I wouldn't say they started this trend. There have been much bigger comebacks than theirs. Look at the Eagles—their reunion album moved an insane number of copies. Then you've got New Order back in 2001, Queen, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd this year, the Doors making their 21st-century mark a few years ago, or even Lynyrd Skynyrd.😛

dustycanyon6 said:A slip of the tongue—animalistic.

It wasn't a slip of the tongue. I said "some don't have cholesterol at all—they're plant-based fats," which implies that plant-based fats are inherently cholesterol-free. 😬
That’s why those margarine commercials claiming to be "cholesterol-free" work so well; they aren't adding any in the first place, yet people fall for it like absolute idiots. 😁 😁

Ashley Martin78 said:I’ve never heard of them being two different things.😕
Could you clarify?

Fat and cholesterol are two completely different animals; they have their own separate tests and reference ranges. Some foods are loaded with fat but contain zero cholesterol (think plant-based oils), while others are packed with cholesterol without much fat at all (like eggs). Long story short: they aren't the same thing. Usually, if your fat levels are high, your cholesterol will follow suit, but that isn't a universal rule.

Ashley Martin78 said:High cholesterol isn't something that just appears overnight, so you can't expect it to vanish overnight either.
It takes patience and actual time.

Just because someone has high triglycerides doesn't mean their cholesterol is automatically through the roof; they aren't the same thing.

How much does your dad weigh? 😁
loneowl45 said:It’s just a Coke, but I find it tastes better. My teeth are fine, thank God. Besides, I’ve got free dental coverage if things ever go south. 😁

Sure, I get it—Coca-Cola is a decent soda, and since it doesn't have caffeine, people call it "healthier" than Coke. But it’s still a nightmare for your teeth.😁
loneowl45 said:Between the sugar and the carbonation, it eats away at your tooth enamel—even harder than they originally thought.

Honestly, I couldn't care less, but since I've already heard this song and dance a thousand times, I might as well weigh in.

I don't touch Cola; it's just not my thing. I'd much rather grab a Coca-Cola. 😁

And Coca-Cola isn't carbonated and doesn't have sugar, right?😁

Look, New Yorker, in American English we call that the present tense; you’re using a perfect tense to describe something else entirely 😁
