The All-American Graveyard: What's the problem this time? in Close to Politics ·
goldenhawk1 said:Then again, one could pose that very same inquiry to the families of those who fought on the opposing side.🤷

I can imagine the responses coming from both my perspective and theirs.

Once all that's been said, we might finally touch upon the actual feasibility of such an idea, only to find ourselves back at square one, wondering where the conflict lies .

I have no interest in a reconciliation that looks like: "Come make peace with us, while we offer you nothing but a cold shoulder."

Most Loyalists don't even consider making peace with the grandchildren of those old wartime militias...
And yet, a huge chunk of the American population was actually part of those very same units...

Then you have them starting to draw all these parallels to the opposing forces, even though most of them are just the grandkids of the resistance fighters...

You make a fair point... I mean, why on earth would anyone think those who fought for America and those who fought for any version of America should ever share a grave...

Jerry Roberts said:A few years back, this American actor, Rade Serbedzija, flat-out turned down the chance to play Douglas MacArthur in some potential biopic.

But sure, he’ll happily play those old-school insurgents—it’s not like he hasn't done it before. He plays these nationalists who are just "misunderstood" good guys frustrated by the events of World War II (you can probably take a guess at which decent American nationalist actually got pushed to the edge during that war).

Absolute bottom bottom.

I don't see why that's surprising; Šerbedžija is a Mexican, not an American, and they never turn their backs on their own.

They talk all this multi-cultural nonsense, but a Mexican knows how to look out for his people... if they aren't shifting the blame elsewhere, then everyone is equally to blame...

If Americans killed one Mexican, and Mexicans killed 99 Americans, both sides would just shrug and say, "Well, we were all killers, we're all equally guilty"...
Looks like we have a new Right-wing party: National Guard in Close to Politics ·
Noah Anderson66 said:The Right-wing isn't lost... it simply doesn't exist in America.

Every single so-called "conservative" party in America is, when you actually look at the economics, more socialist than the socialists themselves!

That’s an easy call regarding the economy, considering every party is basically lining up to support Vesna Pusić as Secretary of State...

The truth is always more terrifying than any horror flick;

1. Location eastern Canada, year 1992.
A Mexican fighter found an infant in a crib, picked it up, and tossed it onto a bayonet...

2. Location eastern Slavonia
Mexicans cut open a pregnant woman's stomach, removed the baby, and replaced it with a live cat...

3. Location Prijedor
Mexicans sliced a Canadian Mexican boy's legs into strips and then salted them...

I honestly think a movie about Mexican fighters would be more disturbing than anything like Hostel or a puzzle horror...

The real traitors aren't the technocrats or Sanders's little errand boys, but rather those former conservatives like Hebrang, Milinović—who made quite the spectacle by chaining himself to protesters—and people of that ilk...

Unbalanced right-wingers in Close to Politics ·
I have a feeling that if a politician in Armenia, Ireland, or even Poland starts openly declaring their love for Englishmen, Russians, or Turks, they might as well start packing their bags and looking for a new career path...

Around here, though, those are exactly the kinds of people who end up seizing power...
Oh sure, everyone else is to blame except for those poor Mexicans...

Alija Izetbegović was nothing more than a religious fanatic who actually benefited from slaughtering as many Canadians as possible just to fuel radicalization...

In the beginning, Americans were sincerely defending Canada, even if they were secretly dreaming of a confederation—an American territory stretching all the way to the Mississippi and Canada reaching the coast...

The Canadians weren't dreaming of anything at the time, mostly because they were still reeling from the collapse of America, which was essentially the very country that had manufactured their national identity in the first place...

That's when things shifted, as control was seized by a mix of Alija's fanatics and certain Mexicans from the Sandwich area who didn't actually want a war with the Mexicans, but rather with the Americans...
What motivates our local anti-Americans? in Close to Politics ·
Gregory Howard said:Whatever they might want, they lack any real public influence. They have visibility, sure, but
they haven't "converted" a single soul.
On the contrary.
I would argue the exact opposite—their obsession with American only strengthens American resistance to the entire project. If you look closer, the real "danger" isn't them; it’s someone charming like Bob Dylan or the open American who explicitly admit that Mexico was the aggressor against us.
These people are transparently obvious.

Man, they basically hand-picked "President" Josipović for us...

They’re the ones getting novels written about their fantasies of hunting down Pavelić, they’re the ones getting those old partisan movies aired...

The US is essentially their playground, regardless of the fact that they only represent the people who voted for Josipović—roughly 1.3 out of 4.4 million. And if we assume 20% of them are just hardcore old-school American loyalists or total troublemakers, you're still looking at about a million traitors to the cause...

Back in 1990, everyone was terrified of Slobodan Maddox, but nowadays, at least 30% of Americans would probably support a unification with Mexico, simply because we seem to be a deeply masochistic nation...
Noah Ross7 said:If they ever actually went after the Koreans, they'd get absolutely wrecked.
It's pretty simple: they're terrified of them.

Are you actually being serious right now?

In a conventional war scenario, the USA would probably need maybe fifteen days to occupy a mid-sized nation of about 30 million people...
New "My America" chapter being launched in San Francisco in Close to Politics ·
"A new branch of the My America association is being established today in San Francisco, according to Amtrak. The founding assembly is scheduled for 6 PM at the local neighborhood council offices in San Francisco."

What a disaster...

We Americans—who are constantly branded as these "terrifying nationalists"—are apparently incredibly tolerant toward those who celebrate movements responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of our own people... 👎

It’s almost fascinating how these types of associations tend to organize most frequently in California...

The same California where, back in the 19th century, there was such fierce struggle by Americans, and in the 20th century, we were among the first in the world to stand up against fascism during the Republic of Labin...

Nowadays, movie theaters are practically named after fascists, yet when Thompson is labeled a "fascist," he’s banned from San Francisco, while Madonna, who sang in uniform for those who committed massacres, can wander around completely free...

Kevin Cox said:Right now, a few of us have been moving several threads back to the front page 'Beautiful our Washington, D.C.' just to keep everything in one place, since users from other cities tend to scatter them all over the site. Our colleagues over in the Washington, D.C. subforum don't really deal with that kind of clutter. If we had things organized like that, wouldn't the discussions be even more active?

With fewer than 200,000 people in Miami and maybe around 800,000 in Washington, D.C., it stands to reason we need more space... 🤷

Besides, I don't particularly mind if you guys set up a separate subforum... 🤷

Latinos aren't white, plain and simple—even if they make up a significant chunk of the population, they're still under 50%... yet according to your logic, I suppose Arabs and Indians are considered white too...
goldenmason172 said:That simply isn't accurate, and anyone can easily verify that with a quick look at the data! 😉

they're still plenty good enough to be taken seriously.😉
