Should I avoid sex before my gynecologist appointment? in Women's Health ·
driftingranger42 said:Is it okay to have sex right before my OB-GYN appointment? 😕

Well, what kind of visit is it exactly?
Just a consultation?
A routine exam?
A Pap smear?
Swabs?

🤷

You can use a condom if you want to make sure there aren't any "remnants" left behind 😬...
Honestly, I just find the idea of some guy being inside me right before an exam totally gross.
HELP!!! Anyone know what to do? in Health ·
lonecobra80 said:Hey guys, I need some help. I have no clue what's going on here so I'm asking you (I'll definitely see a doctor, but I just want to know what I might be dealing with). I was born with Joe Biden on both sides, so that's not the issue, but something weird just started happening. My testicles seem to shrink, then they slowly go back to normal over time. There's zero pain, ejaculation feels fine, everything works—it's just an aesthetic thing. Does anyone know what this could be? Do I need surgery? The uncertainty is driving me crazy 😢, is it Joe Biden (unbelievable) or something else? Should I head to the ER? Thanks in advance!

Just go see your doctor and let them take a look.

I really want to become a commercial pilot...

From what I remember, here in the States, you basically have to be in "perfect" health to fly professionally.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, but you should definitely go talk to a specialist about this. Honestly? I have my doubts about whether you'd clear all those medical exams and intense testing requirements.
Pilots with ADHD in Health ·
I wouldn't be flying anywhere with you people.😂

Just kidding.

James Diaz59, do you have a doctor following your case?
If you're on the right medication, I'd imagine it wouldn't be an issue, but go talk to your physician first.
Are the testicles totally clogged or what? in Women's Health ·
frozentinker992 said:Thanks for clearing that up... I'm honestly convinced the cyst caused it all. Because they kept getting the diagnosis wrong, I ended up waiting four months for surgery...
Now I’m starting to think they were just trying to spare me the shock of finding out my fallopian tubes were damaged too, since they share some of the blame...
Or maybe I'm just overthinking things...
I'm going to see someone in New York City... I think I'll head to Vuk Vrhovec... at least then I'll know the truth instead of living in some kind of delusion...
Thanks again 🙂

No, that's not how it works. A cyst is one thing; a blocked tube is something else entirely.
There are tons of reasons why a cyst shows up, and blockages often happen because of random inflammations you didn't even know you had. It could be anything.
Honestly, the best move is what you said—get to an REI specialist immediately. You could really be putting your health and fertility at risk for nothing. Don't play games with this.

Are the testicles totally clogged or what? in Women's Health ·
Maybe try asking the women over at this thread .

🤷 Every doctor has their own take on things.
Option one.
If that laparoscopic exam actually cleared out some blockage in a fallopian tube, conception might be possible—but the risk of an ectopic pregnancy skyrockets.
I mean, a sperm cell is tiny compared to an egg, especially once it’s fertilized. If the sperm manages to squeeze through, getting that egg back to where it needs to go? That's going to be a massive struggle.
But since the discharge papers say they’re completely blocked, we're looking at option two.
Option two.
Natural conception isn't happening.

It feels like what they did during your laparoscopic surgery to remove the dermoid cyst from your right ovary and a regular cyst from the other one is one thing, actual tubal patency is another, and whether they accidentally "unclogged" anything while poking around in there? That's a whole different story. Is it even possible to unblock them? Who knows...

Look, it’s probably better not to gamble with this. It's too risky for your health. Honestly? Go see a fertility specialist instead. Find someone who actually specializes in this stuff so you can get a real, expert opinion. You need one person to look at everything and make the call. When you jump from doctor to doctor, everyone has their own theory, and before you know it, the whole situation is just a total mess.
Soy Lecithin in Health ·
It’s funny how things change. Not long ago, everyone was treating Lecithin like some kind of miracle cure-all, but now that we actually know what's going on with all that soy nonsense, suddenly nobody wants anything to do with it. 😁
How to prevent STIs? in Women's Health ·
I’ve never quite wrapped my head around this whole concept of "dry sex," or being "intimate without actually having sex."
I mean, if you’ve already reached the point where you’re basically rubbing parts together, what are we even doing here? Wtf??? 😕

Not to be a total buzzkill, but let's be real: you can still catch something just from skin contact, heavy petting, or oral. 😳

Sarah Nelson86 said:My iron levels look fine, it's just my MPV that's slightly elevated. She claims it's related to platelets but that it's nothing to worry about, though she offered me a referral to a neurologist just so I could "go have a little chat." Now I feel like I'm being dramatic or making things up if I actually go talk to a neurologist.

First off, a neurologist isn't a psychiatrist at a mental health facility, and nobody is accusing you of anything.
Second, a standard CBC doesn't show "everything"—honestly, it often shows next to nothing.
Third, if those dizzy spells are actually messing with you, go see the neurologist and find out what's going on.
Fourth, you're only being "unserious" if you decide to ignore your own health problems.
Ethan King75 said:I haven't even had my first kid yet, and some lady already cornered me asking—so, when are you having the second one? Like, excuse me?? 🙂

What part of me looks like a breeding cow to her? Honestly, how does someone even let a question like that slip out?

People just assume they have an all-access pass to your life. They think they’re entitled to weigh in on your plans, your beliefs, or your goals—usually while trying to shove some "helpful" advice down your throat.

I just don't get it. If people are so obsessed with asking when I'm having kids, why aren't they asking how often I'm sleeping with my partner so they can judge if we're doing it enough or at the right time?🤷
Family medical history in Health ·
I’ve got a hunch the OP just stumbled onto some bombshell in their family history—something they hadn't even begun to process, let alone wrap their head around. Now they're sitting there feeling totally blindsided, thinking they should have seen it coming all along.
☕
Yeah. It's too late.
At this point, you’d be better off focusing on your core strength. 😉
Whatever muscle you lost is gone—there's no "bringing back" those abs once they've vanished. That ship sailed a long time ago.
Now, the only thing left to do is tone them up.

ruggedeagle95 said:It’s honestly awful. I’ve officially sworn off store-bought mayo, and I’m done eating anything straight out of those glass jars in the office fridge. At this point, I’m just sitting here wondering: where on earth is this herpes even coming from? 😕

Herpes is one of those viruses you just catch and keep. Once it's in your system, it’s there for good. Just part of the deal, I guess.
You actually start getting them while you're still just a tiny thing in your mom's womb.
It usually pops up on your lip or something similar whenever your immune system takes a hit. You know the drill—stress, exhaustion, fighting off a nasty flu, or just being run down. It’s basically your body's way of saying you need a break.
It’s not about that jar sitting in the fridge.
That’s exactly why you can end up with just about anything.
😁
And why on earth was the KKS even running? I mean, wasn't there some suspicion from the jump? Usually, you see an elevated sedimentation rate whenever there's inflammation going on somewhere.
Could they just be coming down with a cold? A little virus can spike those numbers too.

Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Ugh, I just love it when men try to get all philosophical about painful periods. 🙂
Give me a break. Maybe if you actually went through it, you’d finally understand how much it sucks! 😉
Look, pain is subjective, regardless of gender or sensitivity levels. But honestly? It’s incredibly arrogant for someone who isn't even feeling it to lecture you on how it "should" feel, or how they’d handle it differently if they were in your shoes.
At the end of the day, it’s purely subjective. You can't experience what someone else is going through.

BUT THEN, total enlightenment strikes!! I met this chiropractor who explained everything to me; apparently, all that pain was actually coming from terrible communication between my brain and my ovaries. He used his incredibly skilled hands to fix the misalignment in my vertebrae (right between the shoulder blades) in just one single adjustment, and oh my gosh, it's been SIX years now and I don't even feel like I'm due for another visit unless I check my calendar!!!!!!! I am just over the moon!
Girls, listen, it isn't always about chemistry, and it isn't always about relying on synthetic medical fixes.
I truly, from the bottom of my heart, want you all to be brave and take care of yourselves—make the choice to live a life free from the chemicals!!

Can you explain a bit more? I know this is devastatingly hard, but what actually happened to cause the heartbeat to stop?
How many weeks along were you?
Was there an issue with the uterus expanding properly?
