Tick bite help! in Health ·
Removed a tick from my ankle joint a few days ago... honestly, I have no idea how long it was lodged there...
It’s been 8 days now, and redness has started appearing at the site along with some itching...
It is just pure redness for now; no ring has formed yet...
I suppose I will head to the ER, though I've had similar experiences before that weren't too bad... if anyone else has dealt with this

Well, I just finished watching this trash...
I used headphones and sat in the dark... I thought that might enhance the experience, but the film is such junk it doesn't even have any jump scares or decent sound design to actually startle you...

Look... the movie explains how the apartment residents turned into zombies... they are possessed...
The possession spreads from one person to another via bites...
I guess the first half of the film is somewhat tolerable, and the camera work was relatively steady enough until they suddenly introduce these new characters. They seem useless and were clearly added without any purpose other than padding the runtime to hit 80 minutes... that is when the movie goes completely downhill...
With those irritating new characters comes all the shaky cam and incoherent screaming intended to create an illusion of chaos... and it stays that way until the credits roll...

Honestly, I would have been satisfied with a straightforward action film where they kill the possessed attackers floor by floor... at least that would have been something...

At the end, they show some retarded demon performing some mouth-to-mouth thing involving an eel, and somehow that's why the survivor lives... I mean, what absolute garbage...

I fell for it the first time, I fell for it again now, but I won't be testing my luck a third time...

I think I realized it even after the first one—that I should run from this stuff—but I guess I just didn't listen to myself...

I haven't seen the teaser or the trailer... but without any exaggeration... he should have grabbed it instead of kicking it in the head, maybe a kick to the groin... that would definitely have bumped the rating above a 7...

Look, I watched that remake way back before anyone even mentioned the original REC movies, so everything felt super familiar. Honestly? Wasn't impressed at all...

But man, that second one!
Uhh, killer movie. Seriously. 🙏
It was nothing like what I was expecting—that whole virus thing actually starts making sense, spoilers:

The whole demon/devil thing showing up, how it talks through people, then that ending twist...spoiler end

Total ten out of ten.

REC 1... honestly, it's total garbage in my opinion...

I was hoping I’d at least get a decent laugh out of it, but honestly, it didn't even manage that.

I suppose there isn't much to say here. Perhaps I should have provided more context, but I didn't feel it was necessary at the time. Maybe. kaže:
I want my hour and thirty-five minutes back...👎👎👎

Nancy Howard4 said:I just finished watching this, and honestly, I have to wonder why anyone would even bother throwing money at making something this stupid.

It would’ve been way more interesting if they had actually stuck to the real story about smuggling drugs out of a small plane over the States—you know, where the crew is tossing the stash out the window while being chased by the DEA in another aircraft, and then that poor bear ends up finding the loot. They could have shown the whole chaotic escape where the smugglers bail out of the plane, including that part where one of them fails to deploy his parachute properly and ends up slamming right onto someone's car.😁

I suppose I should weigh in on this. It seems necessary. Regarding the recent discussion about film direction, I find myself somewhat at odds with the consensus. Perhaps my perspective is too rigid, but I maintain that the pacing was fundamentally flawed. It felt disjointed. Maybe it's just me, but I found certain sequences to be quite tedious. I noticed boldviper16 had some strong opinions on the matter earlier. While I respect the enthusiasm, I think the argument lacks a certain level of analytical depth. It’s a bit simplistic, I guess. Similarly, when mellowskipper mentioned the cinematography, I found the point to be somewhat overstated. The lighting was adequate, nothing more. I have been looking at the ratings on IMDb, and while the numbers are high, they don't always reflect the structural integrity of the script. A high score doesn't necessarily equate to quality. It's a common misconception. I will likely remain skeptical of the upcoming releases as well. One must be cautious. The user says:
Pure garbage on every conceivable level. It doesn't even manage to land in that "so bad it's good" category. I guess it's just a total failure.

Someone apparently assumed the concept was so absurdly hilarious that it would practically direct itself. I guess they thought the idea alone would carry the entire production.

I suppose I should probably weigh in on this, though I'm not entirely convinced it matters much. It seems there is some ongoing discussion regarding the recent data. Perhaps. If you ask me, the current direction feels somewhat misguided. I guess it could be argued that certain variables were overlooked, but I find that hard to accept. Maybe it's just my perspective, but the logic appears flawed to me. It’s all quite messy. kaže:

- It could have been handled much better... the way it is, it’s just one watch and then you’re done...

Paul Anderson7 said:It’s a bit mid and hits some pretty mediocre notes here and there, but there’s definitely something working in this film. It’s a shame they didn't just lean harder into the trash aesthetic; I think it would have landed much better that way. As it stands, it just sort of lingers in that awkward middle ground between a light action-horror flick and a full-on trash comedy.
Still, it was an entertaining enough ride, and I'm glad I checked it out.

I am not sure if the issue lies with me... or how difficult it would be to make a diagnosis, but I actually found it okay... I watched it strictly as a comedy...
That one obnoxious character reminds me of someone just as deranged from back home...

I have watched all sorts of garbage that I could recommend without hesitation...

Perhaps what was missing were more close-ups of the bear actually mauling things...

Ice Cube's son is his spitting image...

Red Sonja Remake in Movies ·
I can't really recall much about Red Sonja... maybe just a few scenes, like the fight with Kalidor in a stream involving some kind of metal object...
I suppose the movie isn't actually bad, even by today's standards... I probably should rewatch the new Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja... I wouldn't say the new Conan was any better, either... Chuck, I honestly can't think of a single film on this subject released since 2000 that was actually superior
Edward Watson18 said:either you watched a Larry Cohen movie regardless of anything else, or nowadays it's the case with James Wan and Neill Blomkamp... back then there were more directors you could actually point to, whereas today it feels like just a tiny handful where you can say the movie is worth watching

- when you knew Rutger Hauer or Tom Atkins was in a film, you knew the acting would at least be entertaining; those kinds of actors don't exist anymore

- if the effects were handled by Rick Baker, Stan Winston, Rob Bottin, or Tom Savini... you knew you were watching because the deaths or the creatures were going to be impressive

- when you saw names like Joel Silver, Albert Band, Roger Corman, Irwin Yablans, Robert Zemeckis, Jerry Bruckheimer, Mario Kassar, or Andrew G. Vajna producing... you could generally expect a decent movie

- similarly, seeing screenwriters like Dan O'Bannon, Larry Cohen, or Fred Dekker meant the film should be good

for a million reasons... you wouldn't have a clue about any of them... it's like asking if the players are from Uruguay or if they are politicians from the upper house in Wales...

I just want to know if the movie is good or not...
Nathan Wells29 said:The first Terrifier is absolute garbage.
I mean, the plot isn't anything special, just like any other slasher, except some slashers actually have decent plot twists or more interesting characters.

To me, Terrifier 1 is total trash...
but Terrifier 2... was a complete turnaround... definitely worth watching... and certainly ranks above a 5/10...
So... at least that's my take, though people will likely disagree... whereas for the first one, I see plenty of haters, myself included...

Those who praise the first part will try to claim "you just don't get it," but if you actually asked them to name a single scene that impressed them... well, they’d probably struggle...
I watched it, and there is nothing to grab onto...
There simply isn't a protagonist... just an antagonist and a few moronic characters... I guess the brunette tried her best, but her attempt was maximally pathetic... she acted like someone who has never watched a UFC fight in her life, yet tries to play the hardcore boxing fan by counting down...

Edward Watson18 said:P.S. — people who follow horror films, especially slashers...

I follow horror in general somewhat... and I don't really care which subgenre it is... as long as it's at least passable... without some idiot director forcing in ultra-retarded nonsense like how the Creeper "got what was coming to him" in the last installment...
First, Sho Kosugi took him out, and then Leonidas finished him off...
Like this:

But in this specific case, everything was well calculated and planned... so there shouldn't have been any errors or awkward situations... they just had to stick to the plan...

In my defense, I just caught the thread
Rules, Suggestions, and How the Soccer Subreddit Works
which I didn't see in time. Apparently, page 61 states that the entire "soccer" sub has been pure anarchy for God knows how long, and I just walked into this mess completely unaware of the situation...
I am asking to be unbanned...
I won't even open the soccer sub again, let alone post anything there...

I've been a user here for three years... including one, let's call it an undeserved, infraction regarding a question I had about Facebook

on the thread Reddit > Information Technology > Internet > Web
page 261, posts numbered 5203, 5204, and 5205
basically, I asked a question under post 5203, where I received a sarcastic reply in post 5204, to which I responded as minimally as possible in post 5205...
I got an infraction for that... though I figured, whatever... this was two years ago

anyway, as a model user with three years of seniority and one infraction... which I consider unjustified, I find myself wandering into a sports thread about MLS, where back in 2022, I was reading endless essays in the MLS 2021/2022 Vol. 2 thread about how sacred certain clubs and fanbases are, and all the nonsense regarding how some team was robbed when they first made it to the top flight back in the 2009/2010 season...
meaning, that team has been in the league for 12 years now and people are still whining about it...

furthermore
thread Sports > Soccer
MLS 2021/2022 Vol. 2... on page 217, post 4325, there's heavy whining about a referee stealing from "our team"...

long story short, on page 220, I get involved with my first few posts in that thread, numbers 4396 and 4400, which were more or less civil... but then in post 4401, someone responds somewhat rudely, so I hit back satirically...

I wasn't really participating in the thread; I was just lurking... because it's like their thread, so they can just complain and comfort each other there...

ultimately, I end up banned from a thread where absolutely every single post is just trolling or constant complaining...

WTF...

Which means I probably won't bother with this remake either. Though, I guess you never truly know. Maybe a wave of extreme boredom will eventually hit me.

You aren't alone in that... the movie was just hyped up way too much for its era, so people were likely too intimidated to admit it wasn't great. If I gave Freddy Krueger a 10/10... then Hellraiser is maybe a 3/10.

Back in 2006, it’s like they already knew that by 2020, the USA would be halfway through the exact plot of that film.
The characters in the movie were pretty mild, so they basically just delayed the total insanity by a few years, but if you ask me, we're going to hit that breaking point way sooner.

It is clearly evident with some Kardashian type having 100 million brainless followers... and so on.
Complete idiocy isn't just knocking on the door; it’s already marching right through it.
