I have to say, there was something truly special about joining in on that singalong. 😕
I didn't say anywhere that someone here was the one who wrote it. 😉

I really hope you're just pulling my leg here. 😬
I have to say, I was actually pleasantly surprised by both the BBC coverage and The Flaming Lips performance 😍
and as for those folks who seem to think bubbles don't count as music, all I can say is: 🆙
My only real gripe is how they handled the juice and chips at the entrance; it felt quite different from what was originally promised on the Internet.😠
Old threads
in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Well, I just handed out a 50-point penalty for bumping an old thread.
Why the sudden crackdown?
It’s because the post was clearly trolling and the topic itself was incredibly vague.
😁I don't mind being lenient—maybe just a quick warning—with our newer members who might haven't had a chance to digest the community guidelines yet. However, if someone has been part of this forum for quite some time and decides to revive an ancient thread without any real reason behind it, they can expect sanctions. 🤷
*Just to clarify, this doesn't apply to those massive aggregate threads that occasionally dip in visibility and need a little nudge to stay afloat.
Personally, I don't see the utility in creating a dedicated sub-forum just for locked discussions, much like I don't see the point in locking every single thread automatically. We already have a specific section for archived topics, and for everything else, we simply rely on the rules which, honestly, aren't that difficult to follow. 🙂

It’s honestly a bit unrealistic to expect a crew that spends all their time getting bogged down in the mud to suddenly become more proactive, don't you think? 😁
Why are you even complaining? 😁
Personally, I didn't mind the mud one bit. In fact, I wore it like a badge of honor for the rest of the night! 🤣
The performance by Chain was actually quite impressive, though I have to say the rest of the night ended up being even better. 🙏

unnamed is the third one on my list. ☕
The BlackRock track (which you won't find on the mastered version, much like how You still love him 😛 is missing).
I’ve been sharing these tracks everywhere like wildfire, though I haven't quite managed to win over a few of the more stubborn listeners just yet. 😢

I absolutely adore how incredibly handsome Harry is. ☕
And honestly, I really want to catch one of their concerts sometime, somewhere out there. 😛
Do you still have a soft spot for him and E. S. T.? 😍 🙂

I am truly sorry to hear about everything you're going through right now, especially since it sounds like you don't have anyone to lean on. Are you absolutely certain there isn't even one single person in your life you could reach out to and talk through this situation with?
You mentioned that you aren't even in a position to be friends anymore. I'm curious, what led to that?
I didn't quite catch that part—does she actually know how you feel, and if so, does she feel the same way?
And then, most importantly, what is this terrible thing you feel you've done to yourself?
Also, why do you have this feeling that things are going to take a turn for the worse in just a few days? 😕
Please, do reach out soon, because I'm genuinely worried that if things don't change in the next couple of days, something quite serious might happen.
That doesn't sound good at all. 😢

Yeah, you can. ☕
It’s because I’ve already had to clear out the chat logs for you guys before, and I gave you a fair warning. You just chose to ignore me and kept doing exactly what you were doing.

Look, that's just a conversation. Honestly, I'm done going back and forth with you on this. If you have any more complaints, please just take them up with the admins.

hollowmason64 said:I have to wonder if I’ve fundamentally misunderstood how the rules of this game actually work. I always walked away with the impression that the moderators were here to serve us—to step in and hit the brakes whenever someone decides to completely disregard the boundaries and cross every line imaginable. It felt like their role was to maintain order, not to act as an obstacle. Honestly, it feels more like they are steering our discussions in whatever direction suits their own interests rather than helping us navigate the conversation properly. 🙄
So, I went ahead and cleared out the chat history for you and a few others today, making sure to leave behind a polite warning and a quick note of thanks. I didn't do it because things were spiraling out of control or heading down a dark path—honestly, there wasn't even any real debate happening. It was just time for a little bit of housekeeping!
So, what exactly is the move here? You find yourself in the middle of a high-quality discussion—one where you actually have a golden opportunity to shed that whole troll persona and engage like an adult—and instead, you choose to drag the conversation down to a personal level. You start throwing jabs, claiming my posts are just too long or too exhausting to read, all while acting like you're too cool for the room. Is that your idea of being constructive? Honestly, I expected a bit more substance. 🙂
It certainly feels like the new moderators didn't just drop out of thin air with some arbitrary set of imaginary rules they decided to enforce simply because they felt like being difficult. We all know exactly what the established guidelines are and the reasoning behind why they exist in the first place. If anyone is feeling a bit lost, there is a dedicated chat thread specifically for the topic where we can clear things up.
I honestly feel like you’re just trolling at this point, and if I’m being completely honest, I think you might be blowing things a bit out of proportion.
My partner's past
in Psychology ·
But honestly, the guy didn't give us any specifics. He didn't say exactly WHAT part of it left him feeling so blindsided. Maybe she made an insensitive comment about her ex having better equipment, or perhaps she mentioned he was more skilled in bed or even better at oral. Or maybe she brought up some wild story about a group encounter. The possibilities for awkwardness are truly endless.
And I have to respectfully disagree with the idea that a past doesn't matter. It absolutely matters. Especially if someone is still carrying all that baggage around with them. For instance, imagine you're out grabbing coffee with your girlfriend and her ex—someone she claims to be on good terms with—only to realize he's the same guy she once described as being exceptionally well-endowed or someone she used to engage in mutual masturbation with. 😁 Is that a comfortable situation to be in? I certainly don't think so.

Look, I get it—the present is what matters, and exes are exes for a reason. But still...
Yesterday, during a conversation, I found out something I really shouldn't have. I know, I know—it’s ancient history, and we’ve been together for three years now. But somehow, this jealousy just flared up out of nowhere. Picturing the person I love doing... certain things with someone else? Yeah, not exactly a great feeling.
We were just talking about our past relationships versus how things are now. Then they dropped something on me that totally floored me. I didn't even want the details, but there it was...
I basically just stood up, grabbed my stuff, and walked out. No words. I know it wasn't the right move, but I don't know why I'm struggling so much to accept that there was a whole life before me.
Now I'm a mess. I can't even bring myself to be physical with them—it's like their past makes me feel physically repulsed.
Is this just being possessive? Or am I looking at some kind of pathological jealousy?
What exactly is on your mind? That’s just about all there is to say on the matter! I have to admit, I was a little caught off guard when you just decided to head out without saying a single word! It was quite a surprise, honestly.
I honestly can't quite wrap my head around why I struggle so much to accept the reality that there was an entire era unfolding long before I ever stepped onto the scene. It’s one of those quiet, heavy realizations that hits you out of nowhere—the idea that the world was spinning, people were building lives, making mistakes, and carving out their own legacies all without me being there to witness it. Sometimes I find myself sitting on my porch in the evening, just looking out at the neighborhood, and I get this strange, overwhelming sense of vertigo thinking about how much history happened in these very streets before my time. It’s a bit humbling, really, though I still find myself wrestling with the sheer scale of it all.
Is the core issue really just what she said, or is it the simple fact that she already had more experience under her belt than you did?
I’m lying here in bed right now, staring at the ceiling, and I honestly can't even wrap my head around the idea of being physically intimate with the person I love. It feels like there's this heavy, unsettling sense of aversion washing over me, almost like a physical repulsion, and I suspect it's all tied to things I've been through in the past.
This is truly disheartening, and honestly, it just doesn't feel right at all. 😢
Unless, of course, she was implying that someone else was outperforming you, or just going out of her way to paint you as completely incompetent.

Look, I was truly just trying to be helpful, but by jumping straight to labels, you’ve basically shut the door on any chance of getting some solid advice. Since you’re the one who started this thread, honestly, you missed out. 🙂

But what makes you so certain he's actually into you?
And how can you be sure you weren't being too pushy or overwhelming?
You mentioned that he was being rude and acting quite unpleasant toward you when you were out with friends. Honestly, if a guy is treating you poorly in front of a crowd, isn't that pretty much the ultimate sign that he isn't interested? 😕

Whatever issue might be brewing here, the author really ought to handle it herself. Instead of letting things fester online, she should just grab those girls for a coffee or meet up with them somewhere out in the real world to hash it out.
If they keep turning us down, we should just move on, find a new crew, and call it a day. Simple as that.
Look, they aren't the only girls in town. Honestly, it’s much better to just be on your own for a while and focus on finding some actual, high-quality friends rather than trying to force a connection with someone just for the sake of it.
But honestly, how else are you supposed to describe people who claim they absolutely have to make it to a birthday party, only to vanish toward a nightclub, or tell you they’re just heading to the restroom and then end up driving home? 😬
I think I’d reach the exact same conclusion—that someone is being a total snob—if they had the nerve to look me in the eye and say they can't be seen with me because, get this, I actually earn my own living while they're basically being subsidized by their wealthy elders. 😁
What does your guy actually have to say about all this? And when did this "crew" even enter the picture?
How long have you two been hanging out (assuming you could even call this kind of dynamic 😁socializing
)?
Did those girls explicitly tell you that you aren't on their level, or was that just something you gathered yourself or heard through the grapevine?
Tarantino's Top 20: From Reservoir Dogs to Now

Emily Thomas3 said:But why even take it personally? Is it because of snobbery? Or some high-brow view on art? Maybe it's because movies shouldn't just be made for those little boys living inside men even when they hit their 20s? You have no idea how many memories can be triggered by that goofy scene where Keanu Reeves is on a skateboard trying to defuse a bomb. Forget Proust and his madeleines! Tarantino has dedicated a huge chunk of his career to chasing lost time, and he does it with a genuine love for his characters that you rarely see from any other director.
I don't mind if you aren't into Tarantino's "pre-teen" action flicks, but don't dismiss them so easily. They actually mean something to people. For some, it's just ninety minutes of mindless fun, but for others, it's a massive connection to their childhood.
It’s been a while since I’ve come across such a beautifully written and concise post. 🙂 👍
Great movie, but what a disappointing ending!

rustyscout34 said:Personally, I thought all The Ring movies were great. Even the third part had a perfect fantasy ending, though I know plenty of purists and fans of Tolkien will probably argue against it (they miss the showdown with Sauron and the whole industrialization angle, which honestly would've been a pretty bad ending in my book). Thinking about this topic, some random movie just popped into my head: I Am Legend with Will Smith. Not only did the ending let me down (including that alternative version), but the entire second half—all that religious nonsense with the daughter and the fighting monsters... man, the movie could have been so much better if they just stuck to the book. Cast Away with Tom Hanks also had a totally crappy Hollywood ending. I mean, who actually falls for the joke that after a dangerous ocean voyage on a raft, you're suddenly saved and perfectly adjusted to civilization after just one camera cut, despite having spent months talking to a VOLLEYBALL!?! War of the Worlds with Cruise started off great too; the plot was developing nicely until it hit that endgame stretch filled with mindless bombs, action, and an ultimately disappointing happy ending (the idea that aliens traveling at light speed in spaceships were killed by microbes (!) — if that isn't the peak of stupidity, I don't know what is. Sure, it's like that in the 1898 book, but science has progressed since then, and so has the average viewer...). Batman Begins also really disappointed me with its finale. The movie spends the whole time on character development and psychological depth, only to turn into a brainless rock concert full of flashy explosions and stupid train scenes. I'll also mention Knowing which I watched recently, featuring Cage. It starts off so well and builds tension, only to force in the whole formula involving aliens, some crazy lady and her daughter, Noah's ark, Adam and Eve... it was just a disaster and the epitome of stupidity. I can think of others, but I'll add them later.
The ending was just dreadful, truly. The first act of the movie actually holds so much promise with a really solid plot, but that final third is enough to drive anyone crazy; it’s simultaneously boring and incredibly frustrating. And don't even get me started on the whole Adam and Eva bit 😂—what a joke.
I keep thinking about that one scene where Cage is searching for the kid out in the cornfields, and then suddenly a massive spacecraft appears, followed by this overly theatrical farewell and an even more dramatic departure of the ship, all set to music that completely misses the mark.
All in all, it was a huge disappointment. 👎
