SSD crashing during driver installation

Did you actually set the BIOS to AHCI mode?

Upgrading your GPU isn't going to be a game-changer here. An HD 6870 is basically performing at the same level, if not slightly worse, than a GTX 750 or an R7 360. You’d need to grab something significantly more powerful to actually see a return on your investment. Honestly, you're better off throwing that money toward an SSD instead. And obviously, get some more RAM.

I guess I could probably go a fair bit lower on the price...

EDIT: My bad, missed some posts 😬 How on earth is the FX 6300$167 more expensive?
crimsonstag84 said:The FX 8300 combo costs $167 more, the FX 6300 is almost $133 the same, and even the FX 4300 combo is pricier unless you go with a worse motherboard. Or a significantly weaker graphics card, which I wouldn't suggest.

I quit my job at ED, and now I'm just seeing all these bad reviews popping up everywhere.
What about this one? Still waiting to hear back from 7-Eleven.
quietpilot23 said:Yeah, I am. The guy said if I decide to order, he'll check how long the wait is. Gonna give him another call; this could turn into a whole thing lol 😁
quietpilot23 said:I'm just going to order this one since it's the only shop actually holding stock. Whether it's Newegg, Best Buy, or any of those other guys, they all claim to have it but nothing is actually in the warehouse. I called everyone first.
I'm done with the drama. It'll work fine.

I’ve been reaching out for support and looking into some minor configuration tweaks, but all I’m getting are suggestions for new interfaces and various other upgrades... Look, I appreciate the input, really, but it’s just making it harder to actually commit to a final build... And if I were to push the limits $3333, I assume everyone would be gravitating toward something in the 1150 socket range... 🙂
Does that Xeon also become obsolete once the 2011 architecture hits? Of course it does, since it’s on an older socket. What was that processor even designed for—mobile devices? *mutter mutter*... It seems like a really unfortunate window of time to try and put together a solid, long-term configuration while trying to stay budget-friendly...
Can the setup I outlined above actually hold up for 4, 5, or even 6 years in a corporate environment—running about 8 hours a day, 6 days a week—without dying off in 2 or 3 years due to heavy workloads and the sheer demands of Windows with all its constant updates and INI files?
