The Rambo - Tetralogy is hands down my favorite franchise of all time. I basically grew up on these movies—I still remember how awkward it felt going to the local Blockbuster to rent them because the staff would just stare at you, thinking, "Oh, here goes this guy again." They’ll always hold a special place in my heart. And honestly? This latest Rambo exceeded every single one of my expectations. Sly is the absolute king!
Has anyone here actually sat down and watched this movie yet? It stars David Duchovny and Demi Moore, so you've definitely heard of them. The premise is basically about them and two younger people playing a family that moves into one of those perfect, picture-perfect American suburbs. Everyone there is super friendly—almost too friendly—because they’re all trying to get close to the new neighbors just to subtly pitch everything they wear, eat, drink, and own. After they throw a little get-together, everyone becomes obsessed with their lifestyle and wants exactly what they have... but, obviously, things aren't quite as idyllic as they seem on the surface. I won't spoil anything else, but personally, I thought it was pretty solid. I liked how it handled the moral dilemmas the protagonist faces. It’s essentially a drama with some comedic undertones, though based on the trailer, you might go in expecting a straight-up comedy.
Taken is basically just your standard action thriller, whereas Edge of Darkness feels more like a heavy drama with some thriller elements thrown in. Plus, in Taken, you have this father fighting to save his daughter, but here? They kill the daughter off within the first five minutes of the movie.
I headed over to the "variety" section because I know teenagers are actually full of some pretty wild and creative ideas, so I figured I’d drop them here too.
Look, I’m not the one actually founding this association—it’s just one guy. I only stepped up to help out with the naming process because he asked if I had any ideas, and honestly, my mind was a total blank at the time. I told him I’d head over to some online forums to see if I could dig up some inspiration. To be fair, I was a little taken aback by how massive the scope of this organization is; they're looking to cover such a huge variety of industries. But the thing is, this guy has a knack for this stuff—everything he’s set his mind to so far, he’s pulled off. Plus, he’s a genuinely decent person, which, let's face it, feels like a rare find in these circles nowadays.
I could really use some brainstorming help here. I'm looking to start an association that covers a massive range of ground—everything from environmental sustainability and education to nutrition, media, child and family welfare, economic development, and humanitarian aid.
The name can be in English, Latin, or Greek, or even a mix of those. Ideally, I'd love to keep it punchy—just one or two words if possible.
I’ve got that DVD, and man, it’s fantastic! I also have this bootleg DVD of the live show in Essen from '80—that Rockpalast concert—and the quality is actually incredible. I even read somewhere that they might release an official version soon with upgraded picture and sound, which is what we're all waiting for! It's such a bummer about the NYC show, though; I was really looking forward to seeing them there.
After five years, those Texas legends are finally set to reunite with their American fans at the same iconic spot—Madison Square Garden in Washington, D.C.
To celebrate four decades of legendary hard rock and blues, ZZ Top is hitting the road for their "Hard Rock Live" anniversary tour, and according to the band's official site, they’ll be landing in Washington, D.C. on October 16th.
With just over a month to go before the show, I'm expecting the local promoters to drop all the ticket details and logistics very soon.
I'm finally going to see them! Thank God they didn't skip us like they did everyone else.
I finally sat down and finished that last fourth season, and man, what a ride. Honestly? It’s easily the funniest show of this decade—maybe even this entire millennium. It’s the first thing that's actually felt as good as Friends since it first aired.
It’s definitely going to beat My Bloody Valentine 3D. For me, the first Final Destination is the absolute best, followed by the second, and then the third.
I honestly think the '78 Body Snatchers remake hits harder than the '56 original, even though I still have respect for the first one. I know most people will swear by the original being superior, but for me, the remake takes the win—especially that ending. Just thinking about those final moments gives me chills. Even the 2007 version isn't half bad.
The Thing is easily my favorite horror flick—it's Carpenter at his absolute peak. I haven't even checked out the original version yet, but honestly, nothing beats this one. I've also really enjoyed some of the remakes, like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, and The Hills Have Eyes (which I actually prefer over Craven's original), plus the American version of The Ring and The Hitcher.
