Dawn of the Dead (2004) in Movies ·
I caught that flick at the theater yesterday, and honestly, it was something else. 😁 I don't think I've ever actually enjoyed watching a "horror" movie quite this much; everyone around me was just cracking up at how ridiculous the scenes were... it reminded me of what that critic mentioned—every little detail felt so absurdly obvious that it became unintentionally hilarious...
That little zombie baby bit almost had me crying with laughter... 😂

I find their music provides such a brilliant backdrop for just about everything I get up to... 👍 It’s laid-back, psychedelic, and quite melodic... I suppose I really do love them... 🙂
Every single movie starring Julia Roberts... look, it’s not that I’m quite so mindless that I actually went to see all of them in theaters. I suppose I caught one of them at the local AMC once, but the rest I just watched on TV whenever I didn't have anything particularly meaningful to occupy my time... though I can't imagine who would even bother coming up with a title like this.

I read that Brad is starring in this one, so I guess I’ll probably head over to see it... maybe on Monday when the tickets at Cinestar are a bit cheaper... I can already picture him just running around half-naked through the whole movie... 😍

No, honestly, with an internet connection this slow, trying to download anything would probably take forever... I think I'll just quietly ask for a favor instead... 😁

jimmy said:Zaireeka is basically just four CDs that you have to play all at once...🙂)) my buddy mentioned it and it sounds pretty cool

iiiii.... I guess that's just one of those weird musical oddities....
anyway, where can I actually find this loser version? 😁
The Flaming Lips in Music ·
Well, it’s a decent enough choice for a brighter day than this one... I wouldn't say it's particularly gripping, but it has a certain cheerfulness to it that makes it easy to listen to... I don't own their entire discography, though I suppose The Flaming Lips and The Flaming Lips serve their purpose well enough... personally, I find Yoshimi Battles The pink Robots to be one of the more underwhelming albums in my collection...
They’re fine, I guess... they just pass by... 🙂
p.s. And yeah, most people seem to really dig them, so whenever someone asks if I can burn them a quick CD of MP3s, I usually lead with The Flaming Lips just to keep everyone happy...
We'll Always Remember you Kurt Cobain in Music ·
It’s just... I mean, it isn't necessarily that Kurt Cobain doesn't deserve a yearly topic...
I suppose most young people are essentially introduced to the wider world of music through Nirvana (international acts, that is, if we aren't talking about Britney...)
I don't think there is anyone out there who wasn't, even if only for a little while, somewhat "infected" by Nirvana... and I guess Kurt left behind much more than just a few remains in the ground...

p.s. Oh, okay, now that I see there's actually another thread about Kurt, I was thinking: one a year is deserved... but maybe two? 🤔
Bright Eyes in Music ·
this is such a beautiful album... 🙂
I suppose there’s just something about the track "lover i don't have to love" that hits me harder than the rest, I guess.
Pixies in Minneapolis, June 20th in Music ·
I suppose I’ve never really been one to trust those folks from Minneapolis... 🙄
..... wasn't there some mention of the Pixies playing at the New York City open air festival? and well... I have even less faith in Americans...
anyway, I might be dampening the mood of this thread a little bit.... 😬
Who's the sexiest musician? in Music ·
I think I might have just had another realization—something about Jamiroquai... 😍

blueranger12 said:What an absolute idiot. 🙂 I guess both Ribisi and the film itself were a bit much for me. I understand that he has to work and earn a living, but still... and then calling her pretentious on top of everything else.

I suppose I know what Murray said at the end. He told her, "Leave that idiot behind." She just gave him this wistful little smile, maybe with a single tear in her eye, and asked, "Meet you at the hotel in half an hour?" And he simply replied, "Sure." I imagine they lived happily ever after—well, for the remainder of his life, anyway, since the man is practically as old as the Bible.

Well, she's certainly being a bit of a sensitive soul, isn't she? 😍 😬ž

It was a decent enough film, I suppose... quite gentle and sweet. It perhaps leans a bit into those typical American clichés, but I don't mind that much; personally, I found it rather charming that it didn't devolve into some sort of perversion regarding its subject matter, which seems to be how these things usually go.
I suppose I used to find Bill Murray somewhat unappealing, perhaps due to the constant reruns of that film where the day keeps repeating itself, but I must say he has pleasantly surprised me lately. 🙂
The soundtrack in that film was truly exceptional... I suppose I found myself quite moved when My Bloody Valentine began to play. 😍
Who's the sexiest musician? in Music ·
Thom Yorke... honestly, Thom Yorke... I'm telling you, he belongs in the top 100 without even trying... 😍
ahhh... 🙂
shadowgardener12 said:but she's just so gorgeous...😁 😁

I wonder, do you usually lean toward domestic breeds or something else? 😁
Personally, I think she's quite lovely... though I suppose her looks are somewhat secondary when a cat has that kind of soul... 😎
Gosh... gosh... just double the gosh...
I suppose I was struck by a sudden stroke of luck... 🙂 😍 👋 🙂
Well... I'm somewhat at a loss for words, so I'm just filling the space with emojis... 😬

hehe...... 😬
Well, I was standing right by the stage... so I had a pretty clear view of everything... but then toward the end, some idiot decided to stand there with his phone and take pictures (you know, imagine the kind of phone I'm carrying... 🙄 ) so I politely asked him to move... but he wouldn't budge an inch... so I tried to make sure my hands were in every single shot, basically jumping around just enough to annoy him from behind... and eventually.... he moved! :victory:
Ahhh..... what a lovely day that was... 😍
Morcheeba in Music ·
I suppose I’ve been a fan for quite some time now, and there isn't much I can do about it... 😁
My absolute favorite has to be Big Calm... though I suspect those first three albums are actually their peak... and Trigger hippie is arguably one of the best things they've ever produced...
As for the concert, even if the train ride felt more intense at times than the band itself, it remains a lovely memory, and I'm honestly just glad I was able to make it... 🙂

I can't quite shake the feeling... I was genuinely captivated at first, especially since it's in French, which has always been such a lovely language to me, and the pacing felt solid through those first five parts... but by the end, I think I started to lose my footing a bit. It felt somewhat tacky toward the finish. 😢 I suppose I wonder if a second viewing might actually land better for me? Though, I suspect I might struggle to find the motivation to sit through it again.
Why blondes? in Miscellaneous ·
Nancy Chase9 said:But why would anyone call orange hair... red?

Not really... they're just those "corn-colored" types... 😬
I suppose certain groups of people just had overactive imaginations and came up with far too many useless descriptors... maybe that's why...
OR perhaps they noticed some strange correlation with blue blood that had been mixing for centuries, to the point where descendants of closely related families—who all happened to marry within their own circles—turned out a bit genetically flawed... and you can imagine: they all ended up with this straw-colored hair... so, since calling it "straw-colored" didn't seem dignified enough for their lineage, they decided to name it after their blood... which turned out to be "blue"... anyway, that label is still used today for those straw-haired folks who resemble ancestors from back in the day with somewhat limited cognitive abilities...

God... I'm just talking nonsense here, I guess...😬

p.s. Why is noble blood called BLUE??? Why isn't it green or purple?
Music critics?! in Music ·
Regarding the question of whether critics need to be well-versed in every musical genre—I suppose they really ought to be educated in them, at least when it comes to classical music. That seems like a rather demanding standard to meet...
As for modern genres, I don't have much of an issue with someone writing about them if they've spent years collecting and listening to records and CDs and actually possess some depth of knowledge. Though, I guess people like that aren't exactly common... 😁
