I’m not actually afraid of needles... they’re quick and don't really hurt. It's just the lack of competence that gets to me. I hate dealing with people who refuse to listen—like this one nurse who insisted on using my left arm when she knows damn well there isn't a single usable vein there. She just kept acting like she knew better, only to end up switching to my right arm anyway after stabbing me multiple times. It’s ridiculous. Last time, my arm was bruised so badly it turned blue, and not even on the side she actually used, but on the left one where she went overboard. I was honestly on the verge of slapping her; just thinking about her snapping "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING" makes me start shaking. Just a total amateur.

It depends, I guess. Sometimes the lyrics matter to me, and sometimes they don't. There are songs, maybe some old jazz tracks in French, where I don't understand even 5% of what's being said, but they still sound incredible just because of the music and the delivery... but usually, if the lyrics are nonsense, I can't really get into it.

Some kind of skateboarding hero... or maybe just a few of them... that's how he was back then...

There are days when I wake up feeling like nothing on this earth could actually shake me awake. Not a splash of cold water, not a cup of coffee, nothing seems to touch it. Though, I guess once I get dressed and step outside for some fresh air, things start looking up a bit. Assuming I haven't already pulled a total all-nighter, which pretty much ruins everything anyway. 😬 But under more normal circumstances, maybe a little oxygen helps.

Or if someone just bursts into my room and douses me with a glass of ice water. Even then... I’ve definitely had moments where I’d just roll over and go right back to sleep... 😬

It’s possible for allergies to shift over time, I guess. Someone might start out allergic to dogs, then go back for a checkup later only to find out they’ve developed an allergy to cats too. It can happen even if you don't own any pets, just by being around people who do; they carry pet dander on their clothes, which eventually hits sensitive people. Food allergies can change like that as well—you stop eating something and maybe the reaction fades. Anything is possible, really. But honestly, the smartest move is probably just to follow the doctor's advice, regardless of how much you love animals or how badly you want a cat.

Don't mess around with your timing... I know what I'm talking about. That allergy to dogs and cats can get pretty nasty, especially if it triggers asthma... maybe just play it safe and call it. Good luck.

The only thing I've ever heard regarding this is that male fertility can take a hit if you smoke joints with the seeds still in them... apparently, that's where the issue lies. If you clean out the seeds before smoking, maybe it doesn't affect fertility at all. I guess it's hard to say how much truth there actually is to that.

Lately, I’ve been hearing more and more people talk about issues with dairy. I guess I’m one of them now. I had a cup of warm cocoa today after a long break... it didn't sit as poorly as cold milk usually does. My mom claims boiling it makes it "easier" on you—I don't really get the science behind it, but it seems to work. These days, I barely touch milk. Even my cereal is mostly yogurt because milk just makes me bloat and sends me straight to the restroom. Honestly, even the smell of it turns my stomach. It's gross. Maybe it's just because everything feels so processed nowadays, I don't know...

So, what do you guys think is actually the best way to beat an addiction like heroin? Aside from just needing pure willpower, which I guess isn't much of a plan... does anyone here actually know someone who made it out clean without ever "slipping up"? What did their path look like—rehab, a sober living community, detox? I don't really see methadone as a real solution; it feels like just trading one problem for another, doesn't it? How realistic is it to truly get free from this? I suppose you have to completely overhaul your entire social circle and environment too, otherwise you’re always going to be staring temptation right in the face, right?

It’s not about me, I promise. I'm just curious about how those two-week inpatient rehab stints actually work after what I heard. Just looking for some info, strictly for educational purposes. I’m not exactly a junkie 😂

I honestly thought this thread would be about detoxing—like, for people dealing with addiction. I figured I might actually learn something about how that kind of therapy works, or whatever you want to call it. I guess I'm just curious about what it all entails.
