He's young and lacks experience. He needs to stop making kid stuff and actually shoot something like Sin City that stands way above his other work. I'm honestly worried he'll just keep churning out juvenile crap without Tarantino... what do you guys think?
This whole debate is heading down a dead end. You can have a mountain of facts and still end up thinking a movie is total garbage. Basically, they sold us a lemon. All you can really do is skip that director next time since they clearly ruined the actors' performances...

If her complaining bothers you, then the tagged posts bother me. 🤷

Look, if I'm buying a house in some fancy neighborhood, why would I have to act like a private investigator, checking out millions of tiny details like the layout, the local shops, parking spots, or the social makeup of the neighbors? Because I don't want to screw up and throw my money away.
Real estate is expensive, and you're stuck with it for decades. Of course you need to do your homework. With a movie, I just check the director, the cast, or the poster. Honestly, the trailer gives me more than enough info. Nolan, DiCaprio, whatever. You end up with a bit of a gamble anyway. There is zero chance I'm spending half my day reading up on a movie I haven't even seen yet.
It’s honestly such a pain having to research a movie before you even watch it just to avoid spoilers. It’s a pretty interesting topic, though. And sure, the self-righteous cops and the symbiote fans can go ahead and act all high and mighty about it. 😁
Just kidding. Heh... 🙄. Instead of just tearing into a young lady (presumably 🙂), there could have been a much more interesting debate regarding ticket prices for an art event. I think someone mentioned the possibility of a commission being formed to decide those rates. Though, technically, if a movie is total garbage, they should probably charge more for it—which kind of defeats the whole point of asking for a refund if the "art" turns out to be crap. 🤔

It's probably the project where Fincher poured the most soul into his work, and you can really feel that once the first 20 minutes grab you and won't let go. I have this gut feeling even Fincher would call it his finest hour...
Believe it or not, I get that same feeling about Alien. A total masterpiece, damn it. 🤷
Five years since my last post. Long one. 😁 Gedit? Gedit? 🙄
Did this thing actually win any Oscars? Caught it on TV yesterday. First time seeing it. Man, for a split second I thought they were actually trying to make a movie (that babe, she was incredible, but the guy was just... yikes), but this wouldn't even pass for a student film... 😲
Caught the third part on TV yesterday. Yeah, I’m watching this nineteen years late, but honestly, I watched the first two way later than they were actually made too... because, you know, I wasn't exactly alive yet. Am I a vampire or something?!
Good grief, what a disaster of a movie. Where was the brainpower? Seriously, both Mario and Francis Ford Coppola should have known better. It's just recycled directing and entire sequences ripped off. And making Tony the successor to Michael... please. The acting feels like some low-budget US-international co-production. Zero drama. And that final scene—wtf? Just more recycling from the original parts. Even the couch designers had more talent behind the scenes. Oh, and that whole bit with the cousins? Completely useless, or if you want to be nice, just incredibly wasted. This movie is trash.
I don't know. It feels like the director didn't quite cross the finish line. A lack of guts? Or maybe just lacking the craft? At certain points, he actually caught that hyper-realistic wave the whole movie was chasing, and in those moments, it felt like a masterpiece. Someone mentioned the thin script—honestly, I don't think it needed anything else beyond what was already there, just better execution. When you're making a film like this, every single frame needs to be intentional. Instead, some scenes just felt... half-baked.
All in all, it’s a decent stylistic exercise. A little more courage, more thought, and probably a bigger budget, and this kid might actually go somewhere...
It’s true the movie drags toward the end, probably because the writer and lead actor got a bit too caught up in their own egos. But, 🙂 cut out the generalizations: Americans, Brits, romantic comedies... I've spent way too much time nitpicking to offer any real constructive criticism 😁, but this one was actually pretty decent... Just a heads-up, my rating is purely based on my own taste. 😁 😉

Then, whenever they try to say something remotely intelligent, you just drop that little hint that they can't even write properly, let alone contribute anything constructive 😉
