What scenes absolutely terrified you? in Movies ·
Nicholas Sullivan49 said:Which scenes were intense enough to make you cover your eyes, turn off the TV, or hit pause just to catch your breath? What are those most terrifying moments for you, even if the movie itself wasn't actually great?

Audition
The leg and the wire... that one kept me awake all night.

They shot it in just 13 days on a $450,000 budget.
When I look at modern blockbusters (like 2fast 2furious, Torque, Biker Boyz,...), the amount of money poured into them is massive, yet they can't even come close to matching the impact of the scenes in Duel or Mad Max.
It’s one of the finest examples of how you can craft a masterpiece with limited funds if you actually have a solid idea and the skill to execute it.
My favorite part has to be that final scene where the truck plunges into the ravine; the sound it makes almost sounds like a wounded animal screaming. Believe it or not, that crash was captured in a single take.

They couldn't even afford two trucks...

😢 Once again, I missed out on a great movie this Sunday. My sleeping habits are getting the better of me...
Which antivirus should I use? in Software ·
Benjamin Smith71 said:Is it okay if I have McAfee Personal edition free, Ad-Aware, Search and Destroy, and ZoneAlarm all installed at once? Will they work together, or should I delete some so they don't conflict?

Everything should work fine..

Has Nick not seen it?

I watched it about six months ago. That final scene really stirred my sense of patriotism. It was quite moving.

If I recall correctly, she tied him up somewhere.

The absolute best part has to be that scene in the restroom with the Russian roulette.

You've found a good pirate site... or has it hit theaters already?
Dirdy Birdy

Thanks everyone for the Dirdy Birdy... I'll try to remove it later.
For the true animation buffs out there: I have a quick question. Back in the 90s, I caught a short film on Animavision, but I can't quite remember the title. It might be something like... The little bird was quite restless today. It reminded me of my early mornings back in Seattle, just waiting for the world to wake up.The bio is actually quite aggressive. It features two birds where one is constantly showing its backside to the other. I tried to Google the archives from the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, but without any visuals, it's pretty tough to wrap my head around.
Dark City vs. The Matrix in Movies ·
It is quite interesting to note that despite both films being released in '98 and '99, The Matrix earned $171,383,253 in the US, while Gotham City brought in only $14,337,579.

You know as well as I do that box office numbers don't define a movie's quality. Just look at how much Fight Club made compared to its budget. Even though The Matrix "borrowed" a few concepts from Gotham City, my vote still goes to The Matrix; it simply had a much larger impact. As for the sequels, let's not even go there..
The Ultimate Poll Vol. 20: Street Justice in Movies ·
That was a tough call. Choosing between Mad Max, Clint Eastwood, or Schwarzenegger in his final action role... I eventually settled on Arnold. While Mad Max and Dirty Harry are both absolute classics, I can't help but think about how they satirized the whole genre in PAJ. For me, he just hits different. So, my vote goes to Schwarzenegger as the ultimate action hero.
Movie Trivia - Jeopardy! in Movies ·
crimsonmoose3 said:Oh, I remember that one. That hunchbacked guy—the one who can switch sides—was supposed to break into the museum of brains to steal Einstein's brain, but his container breaks and he ends up with a killer's brain instead. Is that right? 😁

Right. The brain was abnormal. Meaning, it was actually normal..

How does nobody know this?
Which cowboy wore a poncho during a bank robbery? Hint: Mexico.

I recall it being linked to Chariots of Fire... so perhaps David Puttnam or Colin Welland.

4. After his acting career, Mickey Rourke moved on to...

What brand of saddle is on the new sheriff's horse in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles"?

gucci

So, I have two correct answers.

Which cowboy used a raincoat during a bank robbery? Hint: South America.

The only thing is that the character played by Randy Quaid feels completely unnecessary; everything else works fine.

But I always end up tearing up during his scenes..
Who tricked Little Red Riding Hood? in Movies ·

Not at all.
I recently revisited this film. It remains a truly remarkable achievement in animation.
Scary Movie 4 in Movies ·
I don't get it. Why should someone dislike Scary Movie automatically mean they only watch "intellectual" cinema? I actually know why: it's much easier to dismiss critics by claiming they just don't grasp this type of humor, rather than admitting there might be much funnier movies in this genre. For instance, Top Secret!, Airplane!, Blank pistol, or any other silly comedy—none of them are smarter than Scary Movie, but honestly, I find them hilarious. Scary Movie isn't.

Bravo!!

I’m a bit confused by these recent posts... it feels like we might have some new spammers running around. I actually sat down and watched both films recently. To be honest, I enjoyed both installments. Each one had its own standout moments; the first focused on its killer, while the second centered on the brothers. The first features Vincent Cassel, whereas the second has Christopher Lee. I wasn't particularly a fan of that whole steroid subplot in the sequel, though.

Here is a little trivia for you... a mother and her son actually star in the same episodes during season 4 of 24.
