Best violent scenes? in Movies ·

I see everything clearly. Perhaps I should brighten up a few of these photos.
Best opening scenes of all time? in Movies ·

The thread title is "The absolute best opening shots..." Like that rabbi talking in Snatch.

The best part is that one line...''who wears nunchucks in their pants?''
Movies that accidentally became classics? in Movies ·
People complain about movies that are truly original—works produced without massive special effects, outside of a major studio, on a shoestring budget, and without any A-list stars. What more can you realistically expect from them? Isn't that how filmmaking is actually supposed to work?
Constantine said:I can get that sorted once I pick up the film collection (which is going to be quite an investment, $113. Ouch... but it's 53 films, including Raging Bull, Critters, Creepshow, and Apocalypse Now...) 🙏 🙏 🙏
P.S.
When did you receive that movie? I didn't see it on my list. 🤔

I forgot to include it on the list. Seven Samurai, Rashomon, and Twilight Samurai..
crimsonmoose3 said:Ah... Rashomon, one of those films on my watchlist... 😢

Ahem... I actually have it right here...

The man can turn absolute garbage into a massive hit... He's proven it more times than I can count...
Of course, when I say "blockbuster," I don't mean the movie is actually good or, heaven forbid, artistic. I'm strictly talking about the box office numbers. Basically, he knows how to convince people to drop $17 on total junk... And honestly, that’s a skill worth noting...

Here is the proof..
We’re talking about adventure movies, but we completely overlooked The Goonies. Pirates, treasure, traps, James Bond, and Cyndi Lauper... what more could you possibly need?
Love for the Green Diamond...would you say Crocodile Dundee is an adventure film? IMDB lists it under adventure..
Hmm. Let me see which movies haven't been mentioned yet... Robin Hood, The Prince and the Pauper, or maybe even distant relatives...
poirot said:Vodafak? What are you guys even talking about? Paul Anderson directed Soldier and Event Horizon. As far as I'm concerned, because of those two films, I could forgive him for any other bad work he's done or will ever do.

Exactly. That one scene from hell in Event Horizon...

This scene isn't actually terrifying so much as it is deeply unsettling.

Even with a few well-executed scenes, the movie is completely disjointed and just doesn't make much sense...

Mostly pretty bad...

4/10

Hmm. It's an American remake of a Japanese film, shot in Japan with some American actors... so of course it feels nonsensical. That said, those scenes in the attic and throughout the house were quite effective.

Has anyone seen this yet? Is it actually any good?

It's worth a watch if you're looking for plenty of spooky scenes.

Kill Bill Vol. 2—that scene where the Bride is buried alive. I wouldn't say I'm claustrophobic, but man, that part gets to me. When they shut the coffin lid and everything goes pitch black, then you hear that heavy thud of dirt hitting the wood...

Or perhaps it is this one.

That was just terrible. Truly awful.

If they hadn't ruined it by spoiling the whole thing with that water scene, it might have worked. But that part where he looks under the door with the knife? That was a mess.

I remember one specific scene from a silly horror flick stuck in my head. I can't recall the title, but it involves a group entering an old asylum where they witness all sorts of creepy things... I think there was some sort of million-dollar prize involved if they survived.
Anyway, there's this one shot where you see a crazed doctor on a corner monitor, his hands moving incredibly fast while he works. It looked completely unnatural and was truly terrifying.
I know you're all 😕 right now, but maybe someone recognizes it. 😬

Could it be this?
