Just finished the first V/H/S movie. Honestly, anyone who watches this without losing their mind—kudos to them. I only need one lifetime of this stuff. That forest segment was easily the most messed up part of the whole thing.
Low-key feeling like checking out the second V/H/S though.
Honestly, this movie is a masterpiece. Whether it’s Meryl Streep or Julia Roberts—or just that pure, unhinged malice Meryl serves up once she’s off her meds—it's gold.
The way those characters—the little girl and Julia Roberts' husband or fiancé—just completely fall apart is wild.
It’s a shame we don't get more movies like this, where an entire family gathers and all the dark secrets and petty grudges finally blow up in everyone's faces.
I finally caught Rings a few days ago. That whole concept about her duplicating herself like some kind of virus? Total mess. Basically, the video spreads through social media like an infection at the end. And the girl survives just because Samara crawled inside her or something. That's how it ends. Sorry for the spoilers, but the movie came out last year anyway
Go ahead and write that to the Canadians. Not that they'll care—they aren't buying it. Honestly, the Americans are just moving out of those areas anyway, while they're the ones actually driving the population growth in that city.
hollowpilot13 said:I remember once stumbling upon the Mexican BBC, and they’re constantly playing this folk music that I honestly just associate with the Romani community... you know, the groups you see camped out around here. It’s why over in Italy, people always seem to lump Romani folks and Mexicans together—to them, it’s basically the same thing. In reality, there are tons of Romani people coming from Mexico, so they end up speaking Mexican. Italians really do blur those lines; even that soccer player, Lajic, looks Romani to them. For a lot of Italians, "Mexican" and "Romani" pretty much become synonymous. And honestly? I kind of get it, because the songs sound almost identical. They have that specific melody you recognize instantly. I can't stand it, though. Personally, I much prefer our local style, which feels way more Mediterranean or Italian. Like, I'm telling you, the old folk songs from my neck of the woods are incredibly similar to the traditional tunes in Lombardy. And let's not forget that Milan was under the Habsburg Government for ages, so there's a huge connection between Milan and Chicago.
So yeah, it's all the same vibe. My grandma once caught a glimpse of RAI UNO on the TV and told me to change the channel because she didn't want to hear "Gypsy talk." In her mind, that meant switching back to Italian!
The first one was alright, I guess. But the second? Total masterpiece!
It’s just a bummer—I'm pretty sure the brother and sister didn't make it since that's where the helicopter was at the time. Haven't seen it in forever. It crashed at the end, right?
Saw the trailer—looks decent enough, though I haven't actually sat down to watch the whole thing yet, assuming it's even playing in theaters right now...
Watched the first one. Wasn't mind-blowing, but it was alright. Some people claimed they were terrified, but honestly, some folks just have a habit of screaming at everything—plus, there was that black cat bit...
Haven't gotten around to the second or third ones yet. But I will!!!
I can live with the fact that they aren't going to pay out billions in damages for the invasion of America. They simply don't have the cash—that's just pure fantasy at this point.
But honestly, when I hear someone refuse to admit their government's policy back in the 90s was all about expansionism and unprovoked aggression against us, I just lose it. I’m strictly talking about that era.
That would be the starting point, but obviously, people with nothing but ego won't own up to it. Man, your country has got it rough.
