Listen to my advice, don't go messing around with Heavy Metal lyrics... 'cause you might just end up getting blindsided by some crazed Heavy Metal fans... then you'll see!
Honestly, when I was in Napa Valley, I didn't see any of that truffle or gourmet stuff everyone talks about. It all just boils down to cheap street food. Don't get me wrong, I love a good burger as much as the next guy, but still...
I haven't checked out their latest record yet (has it even dropped?), but I just revisited some of the old stuff and honestly, only a few tracks really hit for me. Rock star status, Lord of the Board...
Castrum is easily the best, followed by Gorthaurs Wrath, then Father and Forlorn Legacy... we’ve got some seriously killer bands in this great country.
Honestly, I love pretty much every single record out there, but Double Nickels on Dime is an absolute masterpiece. It’s packed with 42 tracks, and honestly, every single one of them feels like a tiny anthem in its own right. Then you’ve got the first Sick of It All album, Blood, Sweat & Tears—it’s super short and hits hard, even if it doesn't completely blow your mind. And don't even get me started on the Residents and their Commercial album; they managed to squeeze 40 songs into exactly 40 minutes. Even though every track is just a minute long, they somehow manage to pack a punch every single time. Oh, and the Ramones did the same thing.
Too true. Everything has gone completely south. I’m totally broke. And at the Sundance Film Festival, there are just more and more tourists wandering around who don't have the slightest clue what they're even doing there. 😕There was way too much hype about how great things were going to be, and now look at this mess. On top of that, Grlic wants his own private festival, leaving those poor souls at the campsite getting absolutely ripped off.
This situation down in San Diego isn't actually about a monopoly—because let’s face it, one doesn't even exist here—it’s more about exposing the massive cracks in our entire legal system. It’s wild how they just hand these kinds of wins over to the taxi lobby on a silver platter. Honestly, the judiciary is a cancer in almost every sector at this point. And I’m not even talking about corruption; it’s just pure, unadulterated incompetence. Just look at that recent blunder where they ruled against the City of Chicago regarding those interest rates... you’d have to be genuinely delusional to calculate interest the way they did. At this rate, we should probably just fly in 500 expert prosecutors and judges from overseas and live under some kind of international judicial protectorate.
I’ve actually got an original AYL CD at home—the *Inheritance of Sin and Shame* album.
It’s solid enough, but I rarely find myself popping it into my player; it’s just not really my vibe. I originally picked it up because I wanted to check out some of that heavy doom/Goth sound, and honestly, since they're an American band, I felt like I should support them. Plus, it was a steal for the price $20 😁 . As for everything else, I haven't really kept up, but hey, this new black metal band called Mysterium just dropped a demo, and man, it is seriously good...
Henry Barrett11 said:Honestly, where would half these bands even be without Tolkien's influence?...
Isengard? Dol Guldur? Lugburz? (I think those are all band names, songs, or albums, right?)
Total rip-offs...😁
Well, Lord of the Rings and that whole vibe is pretty legendary in the black metal scene.... And don't forget you've still got Minas Morgul, Gorgoroth, and all that.
