If we’re judging this based on what Bryan Singer has put out in the past, then we should probably be looking forward to a pretty solid flick here.
I mean, I'm not going out on a limb expecting a total masterpiece or anything, but I'd definitely be down for something that's more than just your average, run-of-the-mill movie, you know?
I mean, I think Paul Walker was totally awesome in the Fast & Furious series, but honestly? I just can't picture him playing the part of Hitman... though hey, who am I to judge, right?
Jason Statham would have been such a killer choice for this, or even Christian Bale.
I mean, look at the lineup: Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini... when you see heavy hitters like that all sharing the screen, you basically go in expecting a masterpiece, right? But man, this one somehow managed to fall even below average, which is wild because I was hoping it wouldn't be anything less than just okay.
To be fair though, it’s not like the movie is total garbage; it’s just a bit sluggish and honestly kind of a bore in parts, but all things considered, it’s decent enough if you have nothing else to do.
A long time ago when I was just a little kid—haha, I'm kidding!🙂 Jokes aside, here is how it all went down:
My parents were huge movie buffs; they were watching films almost every single day, and naturally, I grew up right alongside them. When I turned five, they actually got me a VCR for my birthday—which, let me tell you, was insanely expensive back then—and my dad would record movies straight off the TV or rent stuff from the local video rental shop, so there was always something playing in our house. To be totally honest, I started out mostly glued to cartoons, but that didn't last long before things leveled out, and by the time I hit ten, I was definitely watching more feature films than animation. While my parents were really big on heavy dramas and intense thrillers, they’d often pivot to lighter stuff for my sake—you know, comedies, action flicks, or those classic family movies.
Man Apart (2003) - Honestly, this was such a solid watch! It’s got that gripping, nail-biting tension that keeps you hooked from the opening scene right through to the credits, and man, those action sequences? Absolutely top-tier. I feel like a total idiot for just now getting around to seeing it, especially since I've been such a huge fan of Diesel's for ages, but better late than never, right? My rating: 5/10
Tyler Clark86 said:So, I watched The Wraith a few months back and... yeah, I wasn't really feeling it. It’s just your typical, run-of-the-mill 80s teen action "horror" movie—you know the type. I guess the one bright spot might've been young Sheen, but honestly? The movie is just bad. ☕
Rebecca Green46 I don't even know where to start with this one—it’s just... wow. I guess I'll try to get my thoughts down before I lose my cool completely. Anyway, here goes nothing. Maximum Overdrive is just such a garbage movie—it’s not even one of those "so bad it's good" kind of flicks, you know? It's just... bad. I guess there's no saving it. It’s honestly so bad that it’s actually kind of fun—if that makes any sense? I mean, you know that feeling where a movie is just such a disaster that you can't look away... it's like watching a car crash in slow motion, but you're sitting there with popcorn, just kind of vibing with the chaos. It’s a whole mood, I guess.I mean, look, Stephen King directed it himself—so, I guess that’s probably why it’s such a mess. Just my two cents, but yeah... maybe that's the issue right there. 😁
I know, I know—no matter what, I'm gonna watch it. Maybe it’ll end up being one of those guilty pleasures, I guess. 🙂
That movie is exactly that! Honestly, it's such a blast and I've always had a huge soft spot for it.
copperstag95 said:Well, if the car breaks down, then it simply breaks down, and you don't exactly just keep driving it along, do you? Though, I guess in movies, anything is possible, isn't it?
And honestly, it seems pretty obvious that the trucker just wanted to have a bit of fun and maybe make his life on the road feel a little less monotonous. I mean, did he even ever stop at that dive bar?
Personally, I've 8.7 miles driven a car where steam was pouring out from under the hood just like in this movie, so yeah, it's totally possible.
It's pretty clear we're dealing with a total psycho here, not someone who's just pulling a prank.
The new movie Jason Statham is finally coming, and man, I am seriously counting down the days! 👋
Honestly, if you ask me, Statham is hands down the king of action stars right now. Like, when we’re talking about those classic, old-school action flicks, he’s just in a league of his own, isn't he? He's simply the best at what he does. 👍

At first, I was actually kind of digging the whole bicycle chase vibe—it’s a nice little change of pace to see some high-stakes pedaling instead of the usual explosions and car chases, right? But once you realize that the entire movie is basically just one endless, exhausting pursuit, it starts to feel pretty repetitive and honestly just plain draining. It feels like yet another forgettable flick in the careers of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon. Seriously, how many times can you watch someone ride a bike around New York before it loses its charm? Just one more pointless action picture to add to the pile.
V
I mean, I’m totally with you on the whole bike chase thing—it’s such a killer concept—but honestly, the movie really needed a beefier plot to actually carry all that momentum. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a non-stop adrenaline rush where they're just flying through the streets, but if they had just given us a tighter story, some even wilder stunts, and a bit more polish on the overall execution, this could have been an absolute home run, don't you think?
Man, you gave that a higher rating than I did! For me, a 5 is basically what I'd call a solid project, but honestly? This one feels like it's sitting way below average to me.
ibme74 said:So, I was just sitting here thinking about Premium Rush, that 2012 American action film, and honestly, does anyone else feel like it deserves way more love than it actually got? It’s one of those movies that just hits different when you're stuck in traffic or navigating the chaos of New York City, right? You’ve got Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing this absolute legend of a bike messenger, just weaving through the madness of the streets, and let me tell you, the energy is just infectious! It’s such an intense ride from start to finish, especially with Michael Shannon playing the antagonist—man, he is absolutely terrifying in this role, isn't he? He brings this heavy, menacing vibe that really cranks up the stakes every time he's on screen. And can we talk about the cast for a second? Because having Dania Ramirez and Jamie Chung involved just adds so much depth to the whole thing. It’s not just some mindless chase movie; there’s actual heart there, you know? It feels like a real look at that gritty, fast-paced life in the city. Even though it's a 2012 American action film, it still feels surprisingly fresh whenever I revisit it. It makes you wonder, wouldn't it be wild to try and navigate those Manhattan streets on a bike while being chased by some crazy corrupt cop? It sounds like a total nightmare, but watching it makes you feel like you could actually pull it off! Such a fun, high-octane flick that definitely stays with you.
Honestly, I went into this thinking it was going to be absolute garbage, you know? Like, I fully expected nothing but total bullshit, but I actually ended up being pleasantly surprised because it’s surprisingly solid! It’s definitely worth a watch if you're looking for something to sink your teeth into, especially since the plot is actually pretty engaging and keeps you hooked. Why wouldn't you give it a shot?
What's the verdict? What are we thinking here? Give me your honest take! 7/10
Look, I’m not saying it’s absolute garbage—it’s actually pretty decent and definitely worth a watch if you've got nothing else going on—so I can totally see why some people would vibe with that. But honestly? The plot is just way too thin for me. Giving this a 7 out of 10 feels like a massive stretch, right? To me, a 7 should be reserved for movies that are actually, you know, high-quality masterpieces. This one just doesn't hit that level for me!
I mean, at the end of the day, it’s all just a matter of taste, right? Everyone’s got their own way of looking at things and their own unique way of thinking, so who am I to say otherwise?
Man... honestly, it was pretty mediocre and definitely didn't live up to the hype for me.
(+) really cool concept 👍 (-) execution was pretty weak 👎 (-) the story just wasn't there 👎
I was really hoping for a tighter plot and some much more intense bike stunts. What really killed the vibe for me was how goofy it got with the route planning while he's riding—like, where is he even going? It totally pulled me out of the moment. I went in expecting a gritty, serious action thriller, but this just wasn't hitting those notes at all.
All in all, it's a decent enough way to kill some time, but it's definitely bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.
I've heard people talking about this flick before, but honestly, it totally slipped my mind until I stumbled upon it on the torrent sites today! I ended up grabbing it, so I'm planning to dive into it tonight—I'll definitely hit you guys up later or tomorrow to let you know if it actually holds up.

Set around a bicycle messenger who is chased around New York City by a dirty cop who wants an envelope the messenger has, it was released on August 24, 2012, by Columbia Pictures and received positive reviews from film critics.
It looks pretty legit to me, and since the ratings are actually decent for this kind of genre, I'm really hoping for a good watch!
Director: David Koepp
Cast: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Shannon and Dania Ramirez
Man, this movie was seriously good. I honestly didn't see it coming, but I was blown away by how much I actually liked it.
I went into it thinking it would be some low-budget, shaky "handheld camera" kind of flick, but let me tell you—it’s easily one of the best movies I've seen all year, and I’ve been hitting the theater pretty hard lately watching everything from 2012.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña absolutely crushed it; the casting was just spot on. Their acting was top-tier, and the characters they play are so well-written that you can't help but get totally hooked on them, like you're just completely sold on the whole thing. The directing, the plot, that gritty atmosphere... everything was just dialed in perfectly.
Patrick Martin said:I mean, what is there even to say? We all know the deal. It's an absolute masterpiece. A total must-see for anyone who actually lives for horror.
You've got a point that everyone knows the story, but honestly, isn't it always worth watching it again?😁
brightseal3 said:Out of those three, Rosemary's Baby is definitely my favorite and the most iconic, though if we're talking about Roman Polanski in general, I'd have to go with The Pianist... I'm not sure what else to add, really. Repulsion feels a bit too slow for me, whereas The Tenant is actually pretty good, but I still feel like that one isn't for everyone...
Yeah, Repulsion is definitely a slower burn, but personally, I don't see that as a flaw at all—if anything, it's a huge plus! But hey, to each their own, right? If you find it slow, that's your call, but for me, that pacing is exactly what makes it work.
Some people might even find Rosemary's Baby a bit sluggish or even boring, but I've always loved that quality in movies. Take The Shining, for example; I love how they don't just shove everything in your face, but instead let the plot unfold at this steady, creeping pace.
@Patrick Martin/">@@Patrick Martin, brightseal3, OGM and Iai—I see you guys all cast your votes, but you didn't even bother to drop a single little comment? 🤷
Man, 2012 was such an absolute powerhouse of a year for horror, wasn't it? I feel like we’re still riding those waves of greatness today. Honestly, I have such massive expectations for this one because that trailer looks absolutely bone-chilling—like, seriously, it’s enough to give you full-blown goosebumps 😱
So, I’ve watched my fair share of action flicks and I absolutely love them, but honestly? I haven't even touched a single Bourne movie yet. As for Mission: Impossible, I only ever sat through the first one, and that was like, what, ten years ago? I’ve pretty much forgotten everything about it by now.
I just can't seem to pull the trigger on binge-watching the whole Bourne series, even though I've been planning to do it for ages; for some reason, they just never really grabbed me before.
And with the Mission: Impossible movies, I've always kind of stayed away because of Tom, but hey, I'm actually hoping to dive into that franchise sometime in the near future.
When "Madagascar" turns into "Paranormal Activity 4"...
...kids are screaming their heads off in the theater, and parents are absolutely losing it on the management because instead of "Madagascar 3," they accidentally rolled out "Paranormal Activity 4."
Families were basically sprinting out of the movie theater in Nottingham, because after waiting over half an hour for the big screen to finally show "Madagascar 3," instead of cute, goofy animals, the kids were staring at brutal scenes from the latest installment of one of the scariest horror franchises out there.
About 25 families with kids practically stampeded toward the exits just minutes into the screening because the little ones were "scared to death" and panicking, and honestly, can you blame them? It was chaos...
"It wasn't just the kids—some of whom were under five years old—screaming in terror; we were terrified too! This is hands down the scariest horror movie ever, and for my eight-year-old son, this was his first movie outing, and now I'm pretty sure it'll be his last," says mother Natalie Portman.
The theater management issued an immediate apology and offered everyone full refunds plus a chance to see the actual movie they paid for, but the damage is done—those kids aren't exactly itching to go see "Madagascar 3" anymore. At least, not in a theater...

Hahaha 😂🤣 Man, I am totally loving this creative stunt; it’s gotta be one of the best ways to market a horror flick, right?
Man, I have to pick out one of my absolute favorites from this list... "Hammerpede" just hits different, you know? Every time I hear it, I seriously get chills running down my spine. 😱
I just finished watching this one. Honestly? It’s an absolute masterpiece for kids—like, hands down one of the best movies for children I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life. The cinematography is just stunning, seriously, and the whole thing was such a blast to watch that it actually felt like being a kid all over again. You absolutely have to check this out, I cannot recommend it enough!
