So, I’m seeing three votes for the second movie in the Rosemary's Baby trilogy... which, hey, fair enough! It wasn't exactly a shocker, but seriously, what do you guys think about the third one? Personally, I feel like it's the weakest link in the whole series, even if it's still a damn good watch for me—though I know a lot of people aren't really feeling it.
If I had to rate the entire trilogy as a whole, I’d easily give it a solid 9/10.
Honestly, Rosemary's Baby (1968) is just on another level for me—it blows the first one out of the water and totally crushes the third one by a mile.
Here’s how I’d rank them: Repulsion (1965) gets a solid 9/10, Rosemary's Baby (1968) is a perfect 10/10, and The Tenant (1976) sits at an 8/10.
But seriously, the whole Apartment Trilogy is just phenomenal, easily one of the greatest runs in cinema history. I’m actually planning a full rewatch right now because there’s just something so incredibly special about experiencing these three films back-to-back, whether you do a marathon in a single day or spread them out over three nights. I've only ever done a deep dive once before, where I watched one each night for three days, but this time? This time I'm going for the full binge and watching them all in one go!
Honestly, Polanski’s opus includes some of the most profound essays ever put to film regarding human isolation, confinement, and just how helpless we can actually be. Setting the action symbolically within the confines of a single room became this director's absolute trademark and his most recognizable stylistic calling card. By exploring the depths of human pathology, the Apartment Trilogy has firmly cemented its place within the cinematic canon.
The Apartment Trilogy consists of: Repulsion (1965), Rosemary's Baby (1968) and The Tenant (1976).
One of his most standout films is the psychological thriller/horror masterpiece "Repulsion," where Cate Blanchett plays a young woman living in New York City with her sister. Once her sister heads off on a trip with a guy, Carola (Deneuve) starts acting increasingly strange—she always seemed a bit too shy and awkward around men—and eventually begins spiraling while locking herself away in her apartment where...
Then you have probably his most famous work, "Rosemary's Baby," which follows Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow), a pregnant woman who grows terrified that her husband (played by John Cassavetes, that huge icon of American indie cinema) has actually promised their unborn child to the neighbors after they move into Bramford, all so they can use the baby for their occult rituals. It’s such a dark, heavy, and deeply unsettling piece of filmmaking, but "Rosemary's Baby" is considered a total cult classic today—a true cinematic staple—and if you ask me, I think it’s an absolute masterpiece and easily one of the greatest horror movies ever made.
Finally, The Tenant was filmed in France and is widely regarded as the third installment of the Apartment Trilogy.
Man, I just finished watching that Statham movie and let me tell you, it was absolutely killer.
I honestly wasn't expecting it to hit this hard, so I'm seriously pleasantly surprised here. Between the soundtrack, the pacing, and all that intense action... I'd say this might actually be one of his best films yet.
Auu, man, I am loving this! As soon as I saw the poster and realized we were talking about Hansel and Gretel, I knew this was going to be freaking awesome! 👍
This looks like a total winner, though I really just hope it doesn't turn out to be some absolute piece of shit and actually delivers as a solid, fun fairy tale movie.

Honestly, it’s gotten way too good. I totally get where you're coming from, and honestly, I'm all for just taking a classic tale like this and putting it on screen exactly as it is—especially since today's tech makes it so much easier to pull off. But hey, it is what it is, and I'm cool with it either way.
edit:
WOW! I just watched the trailer and it seriously blew me away—like, it knocked me ten feet back and landed me right on my ass! 🙏 This is gonna be epic; I am absolutely obsessed with this trailer. The little house, the witch on a broomstick... wooohoo! Can't wait, man!
It’s a solid flick; I actually own the original DVD and even grabbed a digital copy in 720p.
I’d say it sits right up there with Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)—honestly, both are just okay, maybe a solid 5/10, though I think I have a bit more of a soft spot for The Brothers Grimm (2005).
I’ve actually sat through "The Brothers Grimm" three times now; first back in '07 watching it on DivX, then I picked up the physical DVD in 2010 and gave it a second go, and my third viewing was just last year when I tracked down the 720p version, so who knows, maybe a fourth watch will happen before this year wraps up!
I actually really dug the first two movies, so you can bet I'll be lining up to catch this third one once it hits theaters—fingers crossed it doesn't totally blow it!
Bryan Hill4 said:When is the next TMNT coming out?
TMNT 2013/2014
I think I read somewhere that it's dropping in 2013, maybe even next year, but honestly, I'm too lazy to go hunting for a link right now—though I did notice IMDb has it listed for 2014.
But man, I've got this nagging feeling it might not actually be any good, you know? Like, sure, they'll probably pack it with flashy special effects and non-stop action, but if the movie doesn't have a soul or capture that true "turtle spirit," what's the point, right?
Man, after a killer night out, this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. 👋
Honestly, the second one was kind of a letdown, but the third installment really brought back that classic magic, so I’m fully expecting the fourth one to hit just as hard.
So, the fourth installment is finally headed our way, and since we don't have a dedicated thread for it yet, I figured I’d just go ahead and get this party started myself! This fourth one actually picks up right where the second movie left off—which makes total sense, right? Since the third film was basically a prequel jumping back in time, it's a relief to finally be back on the actual timeline following the events of the second part.
Here’s a quick little synopsis pulled from Wikipedia. Just a heads-up though—watch out, because there might be some spoilers in here!
The film takes place five years after Paranormal Activity 2, which ended with Katia kidnapping Hunter. Now, Katia and Hunter (now called 'Robbie') have moved into a new house and their neighbors, Alice and her mother, begin experiencing paranormal events taking place in their home.
If loud rock music isn't your thing, skip this one!
If you can't handle explicit violence, skip this one!
If you aren't into gratuitous nudity, skip this one.
If you don't like Satanism, skip this one!
If you can't stand Nick jumping out of every single moment, definitely skip this movie!
If you aren't a fan of high-octane cars, skip this one!
Now for the important part: This movie is freaking awesome!
Pure fun. Great grindhouse structure, a bit campy, excellent dark humor, ridiculous situations, making fun of everything, and eye-popping 3D... as Americans would say...
I agree with Drew Sanchez82. Watching the trailer, I thought it wouldn't be anything special, but they showed very little of the best parts. The actual vibe of the film is totally worth it. Aside from one failed scene with a water tank (bad CGI/models), the movie is exactly what it claims to be. A Shoot 'em up over-the-top dark humor actioner filled with cars, guns, and boobs. One scene is even straight-up lifted from that movie.
So, if that's your style, go for it.
Also, this is one of those movies where Nick is actually good. The role really suits him.
I’m basically signing off on the whole thing, but instead of quoting the entire post, I'll just grab the absolute best part. 👍
Seriously though, this flick is killer and honestly such a blast! 🙏
Nicolas Cage was incredible, and so was Amber Heard—she really knows how to hold her own whether it's an action flick or a horror movie, she just nails that vibe perfectly.
I finally caught this one this morning, too. Honestly, it feels like a genuine comeback for Mel Gibson.
It’s actually pretty engaging and fun from the opening frame all the way to the credits. Now, let’s be real—it’s just your standard flick, so don't go in expecting some life-changing masterpiece or anything, but within its own little bubble and given how action movies have been lately, it’s solid. I'd say it's easily one of the better ones we've seen pop up in the last two or three years. The setting they chose is actually pretty cool, and the action sequences definitely hit the mark. That kid in the movie and that whole bit with the umbrella? Totally clever touches.
I honestly can't even begin to wrap my head around how much I love this whole vibe! Like, seriously, does anyone else feel that same rush when everything just finally clicks into place? It’s such a wild feeling, isn't it? I was just sitting here thinking about it and I felt like I absolutely had to jump on here and share that energy with you guys! Is it just me, or is there something totally magical about those moments where life feels less like a chaotic mess and more like a perfectly composed song? I'm just buzzing right now, honestly! kaže: Honestly, if you ask me, Dakota’s got way more raw talent than Elle does, don't you think? 🤷 I’m looking at both of these movies together here, and honestly? I’ve gotta say, Dakota was just on another level when she was a kid, wasn't she? Like, she had this spark that felt so genuine. But now? Man, it feels like things have taken a bit of a dip for me. It's almost like every single role she takes on lately follows the exact same blueprint—it’s just the same performance over and over again, you know what I mean? It’s getting kind of hard to watch when you start seeing the same patterns in every character she plays.
Honestly, Elle is just so incredibly mid to me all the time, you know? Like, I can't even begin to compare her to anyone else because she's just... there. It's hard to even put into words how average she feels! 😁
I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but I just had to hop on here because my mind is absolutely reeling! Has anyone else been following this whole situation? It feels like we’re living through some kind of fever dream where nothing makes sense anymore. I was sitting there thinking, "Is this actually happening right now?" and then I realized—yeah, it totally is. It’s just wild how things can shift so fast, isn't it? One minute everything seems fine, and the next, you're staring at a complete mess wondering what went wrong. I mean, seriously, who saw this coming? Not me! I'm just over here trying to wrap my head around the sheer chaos of it all while sipping my coffee and hoping for some kind of logic to emerge from the madness. What do you guys think though? Am I totally losing it, or is everyone else feeling this same weird energy? kaže: Honestly, she’s absolutely killing it in every single movie I've seen her in! Seriously, she just has that spark, you know? And man, Hide and Seek was on a whole different level—she was just incredible in that one.🙂
So, I was just thinking about this whole "double signature" thing—you know, when you're dealing with those redundant, two-step verification processes that feel like they were designed specifically to test our patience? It’s honestly such a trip how much extra paperwork we have to jump through sometimes! Like, why do we need to sign twice for the exact same thing? Is one signature not enough to prove I'm actually me? It feels like we're constantly being asked to jump through hoops just to get basic stuff done. Has anyone else felt like this is just overkill, or am I just overthinking the bureaucracy of it all? 👍
Honestly, she’s hands down a better actress than her sister, isn't she? I mean, she just absolutely nails every single role she takes on—she’s consistently incredible in every movie she's ever been in!
Honestly, Hide and Seek is such a total gem, and she absolutely crushed it in that one! 🙏
Man, what an absolute train wreck. Honestly, this movie was such a massive disappointment that I couldn't even make it to the credits. It was just painfully boring—I was basically dying of boredom here, and after struggling through an hour of pure nonsense, I finally just gave up and turned it off. I don't think I've seen such a total waste of time in ages, especially considering they actually had some big-name stars attached to it.
Honestly, this is such a killer movie—easily one of the best Chinese films out there.
It’s been forever since I last sat down to watch it, so I actually just tracked down a 720p HD version a few minutes ago, tossed it into my download queue, and I'm planning to dive back in either tonight or tomorrow.
I've been on this massive kick lately where I'm just craving Chinese films, so I actually started a little marathon yesterday; I already knocked out two from a lineup of six I put together, and I can't wait to power through the rest.
Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson absolutely crushed it, especially Ford! 🙏 Honestly, this movie is a total masterpiece 👍
I mean, how is this film so underrated? It’s actually tragic, seriously—the rating on IMDb is way too low. The plot is just incredibly tense and emotional, and you find yourself totally losing yourself in the characters and the crew because everyone is portrayed so perfectly. Even if this wasn't based on an actual true story, it still would have hit me hard, but knowing it happened makes it so much more powerful, doesn't it? Seeing what those people had to face and how they managed to pull through thanks to their captain is nothing short of inspiring. And the directing? Just masterful, I don't even have the words to describe it.
So, I finally sat down and watched it yesterday after pushing it off forever—I actually cancelled plans just to make it happen! We ended up watching it with my inner circle since I just picked up a brand new TV, so we figured we'd put it to the test with some movies featuring beautiful scenery.
This movie is a total piece of shit 👎
Man, it was so bad I was literally counting the minutes until it ended; if I had been watching this solo, I definitely would’ve shut it off after maybe 15 minutes. As soon as the credits rolled, I wiped it straight from my hard drive. It’s just boring garbage that might appeal to little kids, maybe five to nine-year-olds? Honestly, the only thing remotely worth anything in this whole flick is the greenery—the nature shots, the waterfalls, the trees—which look gorgeous in 720p HD, but absolutely nothing else. I was really hoping for something fun and engaging, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but you should steer clear of this trash at all costs because watching it actually made me feel physically nauseous, like I was being tortured and violated at the same time.
Anyway, I won't waste any more breath on it. My rating: 2/10
So, I just finished watching it—pretty sure it’s my fourth time through now—so I figured I’d jump on here and share some thoughts while they're still fresh in my mind.
I gotta be honest, it didn't exactly blow me away this time around, which is kind of funny because I really thought it would hit harder after seeing it so many times. Don't get me wrong, it’s obviously not going to sit at the top of the all-time greatest war movies list, but you shouldn't even approach it that way, right? You just have to sink into it and let it happen; if you go in expecting a masterpiece, it might actually feel a little underwhelming. What really pulls this movie out of the pack and elevates it above your average flick is primarily Jeremy Renner's killer performance, along with that incredible direction and that gritty, "modern war" vibe that just radiates off the screen—plus, there are a few scenes in there that are just so well-executed they stick with you. If I had to nitpick, the main flaw is probably the story itself; I mean, it's fine, but could it have been better? Just a tiny bit. I feel like it could have leaned into a much more "dirty," raw aesthetic to match the lead actor's look, rather than feeling slightly too polished in certain spots. All in all though, it’s a solid movie and one I genuinely enjoy. It sits way above the average, and honestly, if you haven't seen it yet, you really should—even if war movies aren't usually your thing. Definitely worth a watch from me!
So, I just finished watching this flick and figured I’d swing by to drop my two cents.
The movie isn't exactly bad, but let's be real—it’s not exactly a masterpiece either. It sits somewhere slightly below average, though it's still an okay watch. There were moments where the pacing picked up and the plot actually felt interesting, but man, it really could have been executed so much better than it was. I mean, we've all seen this kind of thing a thousand times before, right? But hey, if you're just looking for something to pass the time, it’s definitely worth a single viewing just for the entertainment value.
