Man, this is such awesome news!

I remember watching this stuff when I was just a little 7-year-old kid, and now, fast forward 20 years later, here I am at 27 years old still counting down the days until this movie hits theaters! 👍

Honestly, > are exactly what kids actually need, unlike all that mindless junk like >, >, or the >. It makes me so happy knowing that today's kids and the younger generations are finally getting the chance to meet this legendary cast and discover what real, high-quality entertainment actually looks like! 😉
And hey, for those of us who aren't exactly kids anymore, we're definitely going to love the nostalgia trip. 😁

What are you talking about, Rachel Young3? This looks awesome to me! 😁 I honestly think this is going to be one hell of a movie. 👎

Drew Sanchez82 said:Since this is based on one of those famous fairy tales, it might actually turn out alright. Then again, it doesn't feel super "original," especially since you've got Jack Black leading the charge, and we all know his main thing is just going for the laughs. I honestly have my doubts if he's really the right guy for this role.

Have you even seen the trailer? Man, they are clearly turning this film into some cheap, mindless joke of a comedy that you'll watch once and forget, though honestly, if we're lucky, it might actually be watchable at all.

It looks like some kids just threw together a collage during art class... absolute mess... 😛

Unfortunately, it really is what it is, and honestly, I'm getting more frustrated by the day.

They could have done so much better with this, you know? But hey, maybe at least they finally managed to pull off one decent animated movie with Yogi.

Holy crap, man! This poster is absolutely killer! It seriously blows my mind! 🙏

I just saw on IMDb that this action flick we've all been waiting for is dropping on January 18, 2011—oh yeah baby, I am so ready for this! 😁

Edit: So, speaking of that Ford they're using in the movie, I actually saw one in person for the very first time today! I'm pretty sure it was that exact same Ford model, and man, let me tell you, that thing is an absolute beast—it looks incredibly powerful. And since we're on the subject of that car, does anyone have any clue what the price tag is? Like, how much would it actually cost to own a monster like that? Thanks in advance!

feralorca82 said:Word on the street is this won't be a straight sequel, but should actually head in a completely different direction

Honestly, who even cares? Just get it in my hands already! 😁

I mean, seriously, does it even matter if it’s a direct sequel or not? I really don't care about that part. My only real hope is that they actually put in the work to make it better than the first one, which—let's face it—wasn't exactly a masterpiece.
Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to lean harder into the horror side of things and dial back the action a bit, or maybe just go full horror and skip the action entirely? Wouldn't that be wild?

So, I finally sat down and rewatched it yesterday in 720p HD, and man, I have to say, my whole perspective on it has totally shifted.

It’s honestly night and day compared to the last time I saw it; that blurry, low-res crap I watched before just completely sucked the soul out of the movie, but once you see it in decent quality like this S4 version, everything just clicks and feels awesome.

My take on the actual value/quality of the film: 5/10
My rating for it as an animated flick: 9/10

So, I noticed a cam version popped up on the torrent sites like five or even more days ago, and now I'm sitting here debating if I should just bite the bullet and download it since I am honestly dying to catch this animated flick.

analogpilot16 said:No offense intended, but seriously, who would even bother downloading this stuff just to burn it onto a DVD? Maybe if I were twenty years younger, sure, but right now? My five-year-old nephew is the one watching this kind of stuff.
Man, honestly, hats off to the Ninja Turtles though—they were everything to me when I was a kid, but nowadays I’d much rather just stream a fresh movie than deal with all that old-school hassle. 🙂

Hey, no hard feelings at all, it's really just a matter of perspective, how you see things, your taste, and your whole vibe. 😉

I absolutely live for the Ninja Turtles, and honestly, I'll still be watching them when I'm eighty years old, probably sitting there with my grandkids. 😁
My dad actually bought me this Leonardo tea mug way back in the day, like 1992, and I still keep it in a special spot to this day. Now, get ready, because this might actually blow your mind: I'm throwing a "Leonardo-Turtles party" in 2012 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of that freaking mug! I've been planning this bash for a while now and have already given my best friends the heads-up. 😍
To be totally honest, haha, yeah, it sounds a little ridiculous, but I'm not crazy! That Leonardo tea mug is just a wild excuse to throw a massive party. 😉

Just caught the premiere, so I figured I’d jump on here and drop my thoughts.

It's a decent enough flick, and honestly, it works pretty well as a sequel.
It’s definitely a step down from the original—and yeah, let’s just call it the first movie now—but that doesn’t mean it’s trash; like I said, it’s just okay. The plot holds up, and I thought the whole concept was executed pretty smoothly.
Now, could it have been better? Oh, absolutely. My biggest gripe is definitely that final scene—the ending. In my opinion, the whole thing would’ve hit way harder if it had ended on a dark note instead of a positive one. I mean, Gordon Gekko is a bad guy, right? He managed to drive a wedge between them, playing everyone like a fiddle and basically nuking their future. To me, that would have been a much more powerful way to wrap things up.

As for the cast, they were alright. Michael Douglas... I mean, do I even need to go there? He’s incredible, just like he was in the first one. Shia LaBeouf isn't really my favorite guy, but he was fine, though he was nowhere near as intense as Charlie Sheen was in the original (man, Charlie absolutely crushed it in that first movie). Carey Mulligan was good—actually, she was great—it’s just that she didn't seem quite as sexy to me as she did in An Education, maybe it was the hair or something, who knows? But her acting was solid, no doubt about it. And Motherfucker Charlie Sheen! Ugh, I love that guy so much; he’s such a fantastic actor, and even though he was only on screen for a minute, he still felt more impactful than Shia was for the entire film.
The directing was top-notch, too; Oliver Stone really showed why he's a master at this.

All in all, it’s a good movie, but it’s nothing groundbreaking, and it definitely lacks the punch of the original.

My rating for overall quality: 6/10
My rating for the drama genre: 6/10

By the way, I caught a preview yesterday at AMC with the American dubbing

It was honestly terrible, man

I have absolutely zero desire to watch this in American

Totally agree.

That whole dubbing thing just drives me insane—like, why on earth do they even bother? I get that parents want to bring their little kids to see stuff, but some of us aren't toddlers and we actually appreciate good art, you know? 😂
All jokes aside, I really don't see the point in ruining the whole vibe like that; if someone doesn't understand the language, there are subtitles for a reason.

I’ve never been able to sit through an animated movie that’s been butchered by dubbing; I’ve tried, but I just can't do it.

Still hasn't hit the torrent sites yet, dammit! Seriously, what are they even doing? 😠

I am absolutely going to wait until it's out in HD, though—I seriously cannot wait!

First off, major props to the OP for putting this together! Seriously, what a killer idea—this topic is absolutely top-tier. 👍

Alright, so to kick things off, I've gotta drop two absolute bangers of trailers here (and let’s be real, we’re talking about legendary movies too):

Predators (2010) - trailer

The Dark Knight (2008) - trailer

EDIT : must add two more trailers for TDK because honestly, they hit even harder than the first one.

The Dark Knight (2008) - trailer 2

The Dark Knight (2008) - trailer 3

EDIT 2 : Just remembered an awesome trailer for another equally amazing flick.

Important Update:

So, I just had a quick chat with the mod and we’re getting everything squared away.

I'm going to stick to the exact same rules we used before, and then we can finally put this whole thing to rest.

Honestly, enough with the constant negotiating, because this thread is turning into a total circus. It’s gonna work just like the "Day film" thread—I'll drop the intro post and the ground rules, and if you dig it, awesome, but if not... well, I can't make everyone happy, right?

Hopefully, we can get this all sorted out tonight.

The end.

goldenhound32 said:Look, I’m talking about this specific thread—the Weekly film thing—which you didn't even intend to make this way in the first place.

And now, honestly, it’s just become unnecessarily messy and overcomplicated.

It really should have been kept super simple, right? Like, one person picks a Movie to watch and discuss within a week, and then after that week is up, they get to pick the next person to choose the next flick.

No voting, no bells and whistles, nothing! Isn't the whole point just to get people to watch stuff they wouldn't normally check out? You know, because they either wouldn't think of it, or maybe they usually dodge certain directors, countries, or time periods?

Also, wouldn't it be way cooler if there were some surprises involved? Like, the person picking the movie intentionally chooses something they think is great but most people haven't seen yet?

😲

Are you actually messing with me right now? Like, do you even read what you're typing?

When I first kicked off this thread, I clearly laid out the rules: one person posts a Movie, and whoever is fastest at midnight gets to claim it—and that’s still exactly how the rules stand.

I mean, yeah, I did mention once that things were getting a bit too complicated with all the suggestions, but I eventually caved and said, "Fine, if the majority wants to vote, let's go with that."

As for that last part—man, that was my original vision all along! I'm telling you again, one person posts, and which Movie they pick is totally up to them. But then a bunch of people chimed in saying that was boring and that voting adds its own kind of charm and excitement.

From the very jump, I designed this thread to be incredibly straightforward. Here were the original rules:

- Post the title of the Movie that will be the Weekly film
- The Weekly film is posted every Friday at midnight (00:00h)
- Once you've posted a Movie, you can't post again until 30 days have passed.

goldenhound32 said:I can't speak for everyone else, but I think I'm gonna steer clear of this thread because it feels totally chaotic and unplanned, so now nobody even knows who's calling the shots or who's picking up the tab.

Salis? Chaotic? Haha, unplanned? 😂

Man, I actually spent a couple of days prepping this whole topic, coming up with rules, and then finally hitting that button to open it up.

Maybe my only real blunder was saying that suggestions were welcome in the first place; honestly, maybe I should have just stood my ground and said, "Look, this is how I envisioned it—if you dig it, awesome, if not, that's on you."

And as for that bit about not knowing who's running things... 🤣 Well, what did you expect would happen when everyone had such different ideas about how this should go? Did you really think we wouldn't end up with a bit of a circus? I knew that might happen, obviously, but I wanted to give everyone a fair shot to weigh in on the rules and throw out some ideas. My original vision for the thread was just having one member pick the Day film, but then a few of you guys mentioned it’d be way more intense if the first five people to jump in got to suggest movies, followed by a vote to pick the winner. So, in my second-to-last post, I told you guys I'm down with that change, and once we wrap up "Seven Deadly Sins," I'll officially bake that rule into the setup and that'll be that.

Man, I didn't get a chance to check it out yesterday, and honestly, my morning has been a total whirlwind too, so I'm really hoping I can finally sit down and dive into it tonight.

Has anyone actually managed to watch it yet? It’s totally quiet in here, even though we're supposed to be talking about the Movie "Seven Deadly Sins" 🤷

I gotta say, that whole "The three-day rule" thing feels pretty ridiculous to me right now, like, what's even the point? Are people seriously supposed to just sit around waiting for someone else to finish a Movie before they can chime in?! If you've seen it, just drop your thoughts, and if you haven't, you can jump into the conversation once you're done, right? It's really that simple.
