So, what kind of songs are we talking about when you say they're about happiness?🤷

Maybe something from Mate Bulić's setlist!🤣🤣
Like, Armed to the teeth 😂
Hypersexuality: Let's talk about it in Psychology ·
Ryan Wood98 said:Look, I don't think we are talking about social perceptions of gender roles here; rather, we should be focusing on specific clinical symptoms. In my view, a man suffering from satyriasis isn't just a "typical guy," but someone dealing with a serious condition that interferes with his ability to lead a normal life.

So you're talking about all those guys who blow up their relationships or marriages just because they can't keep it in their pants. They're all messed up, if you ask me.☕
That "disorder" is called pure selfishness.
Having trouble conceiving, or is it just me? in Women's Health ·
Kate Gonzalez70 said:Hey everyone. I'm new here, so I figured I'd just vent about my situation. My boyfriend and I are both 26.
We've been trying to conceive for about six months now. I've been tracking my ovulation cycles, but nothing is happening. So far, all I've done regarding medical stuff is get an ultrasound from my OB-GYN, and they found a 6mm cyst. I really don't think that's what's causing the issue, but I'm wondering what else could be going on? I want to brace myself for some bad news before I head back to the doctor to tell them what's up.

I don't get this.😕 You're 26, you're actively trying to get pregnant, and you haven't even had a full exam by an OB-GYN yet!😲 Did I miss something here?🤷
Why do people need a scapegoat? in Psychology ·
I honestly think we’re looking at a vicious cycle here. At least, that’s what I see happening all around me. Everyone is just lashing out at everyone else because someone, somewhere down the line, decided to take their frustrations out on a person who eventually ended up in the position of abuser.

Then, the person who’s currently the underdog just moves on and dumps all that pent-up rage onto some other target later on...

It’s nothing more than people using others to vent their own deep-seated frustrations.
Vaccination scars: anyone else have them? in Health ·
coppergardener said:I don't have any scars either. On my immunization record, the BCG section for preschool is totally blank, and after that, it just lists PPD with dates and results ('89: +8; '92: +11; '96: +15). I was born in '83, and honestly, I bet plenty of people younger than me don't have scars either. I don't get it. 🤷Is that even still part of the standard schedule here in the States?

Mine isn't empty.🤣🤣
And I was born in '85.🤷

I don't have them.🤷 My brother doesn't either. But our mom does, for example. I haven't a clue what the deal is, but one thing is for sure: it’s definitely not something everyone has.
My partner's past in Psychology ·
Lisa Hernandez3 said:I’m not quite sure why there's such a persistent push to assume the "partner" is a woman here—the OP actually wrote, "I'm worrying about my partner's past." Either that was just a slip of the pen, or we should probably default to discussing the partner as male. As it stands, the wording points toward a man.

I suppose I’d agree with what vilenica and a few others were getting at—that this likely stems from low self-esteem (or perhaps just immaturity)—provided that whatever happened in the past feels like a direct hit to the ego. Now, if it’s more about a clash of core values—meaning the person did something fundamentally immoral or unacceptable to their partner—then maybe we’re looking at fundamental differences finally coming to light, acting as a catalyst to re-evaluate the whole relationship. It does seem a bit odd for something like this to surface after three years together; it makes me wonder if there's just a larger pile of skeletons in the closet. It's also possible—just a thought—that this sudden sensitivity regarding the partner's history is actually a symptom of deeper dissatisfaction with the relationship as a whole (which, for some reason, might have been suppressed due to the partner's dominance until now). But, those are just my theories.

This is easily the smartest post here. Most people can't even tell those two different types of blows apart.🙂
What’s he going to do about it? Imagine if he actually trusts him, only to get screwed over.😂😂

I always figured it was just my capillaries dilating and blood rushing too fast. And the dizziness? Yeah, that always happens too, though it's pretty mild.
I'm definitely not high. 😁

I'm with you on the dizziness. But the colors...🤷

Are you on drugs or something?😬
My partner's past in Psychology ·
Since we’re all acting so incredibly tolerant and liberal here, I want to ask something.
Would you actually accept a partner's past if it involved something that wasn't just some trivial detail? (Though, obviously, what counts as "trivial" is entirely up to the individual.)

I asked a few guys if they would ever forgive or accept a partner's history if she had been a sex worker. Every single one of them said an absolute no.
And honestly, I agree with them.
I think there are certain things you just can't move past—and in my opinion, you shouldn't.

I'm not really looking for help myself.🤷 🤣
Good luck fixing your mess.🙂

maybe it’ll help me see things more realistically.

Well, screw that. I looked at it a long time ago, and nothing changed.🤣🤣
My partner's past in Psychology ·
I don't know the specifics, but honestly, finding out wouldn't be any fun for me either. I’d feel more disappointed than jealous, to be honest...🤷
Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.

It would actually kill me if I found out something about someone I love that just didn't fit who they are to me.
That said, I still think the past says a lot about a person. I'm not sure I could just brush that kind of information aside just because it happened a long time ago...
It’s fine as long as they don't turn light purple!☕
This happens to me every single winter.🙄
gentletiger20 said:So, look, we’re talking about proving your worth here... but honestly? It’s being done all wrong. If you want my real, unfiltered take, you need to stop making men the sun that your entire universe revolves around. Instead, pivot that energy toward actual substance—stuff like killing it at your job, leaning into a hobby you actually care about, building out your social circle, or just meeting different people... specifically guys, but without that heavy sexual or romantic subtext hanging over everything.
I really think this kind of self-work helps steady the ship and starts fixing that warped view of yourself and how you handle relationships. When you start seeing men as actual human beings—just platonic connections—you won't be constantly tripping over those deep-seated fears or getting stuck in defensive mode. Eventually, it helps you see them as companions or friends rather than just... I don't know, fuel for your own ego. Not necessarily those specific dudes, but just the male gender in general.

Basically, stop obsessing over guys and start focusing on what you’re actually capable of... your own potential. It’s a choice, really. If you have the willpower to make it happen.

True, but one thing doesn't rule out the other. What about people who want to prove themselves in every single area of life?🤷 (and clearly for the wrong reasons) Whether someone is obsessed with men, personal status, or something else entirely...
Is there even a difference? Should we really be validating someone's insecurities, no matter how they show up?🤷

Though, let's face it, all sorts of complexes drive people to do things in life!🤣🤣
I just wonder if it's actually healthy.😍
restlessmason54 said:Childhood traumas? Maybe you're just carrying around some baggage from your younger years without even realizing it.🤷 Were you ever an outcast growing up, or maybe someone people constantly tried to pick on?
The subconscious is a real piece of work.

I know exactly what this is about. 🤣 No, I wasn't accepted at all—I was just different. I spent a huge chunk of my life feeling like that, and now that things have finally turned around and my luck has changed, it’s like I’m constantly shoving it in their faces to remind them of how things used to be...
I hear you. My situation is slightly different, but the core issue is basically the same. I totally get why I ended up this way. It’s exactly what a few people pointed out: I view myself through everyone else's eyes. Even though I have zero actual reason to prove anything to anyone, the impulse is just too strong to ignore. Because of that, I always end up targeting a specific type of guy—the kind of guy 95% of women would jump at the chance to date. In my head, it’s like I'm proving that I'm the one who can actually land him...

And honestly, it’s becoming a real problem. I find myself consciously rejecting guys who would probably actually love me. But then there’s this nagging feeling inside that won't let me settle for someone "average," as someone put it. So yeah, I guess I'm just screwed...🙄🙄🙄
What's the best way to dye this? in Miscellaneous ·
Karen Young17 said:My sister was just messing around with some crayons and markers, making a mess of everything. You know, I was looking at that stuff they use to color plaster—that pigment you mix right into the lime. Honestly, it’s a headache waiting to happen if you don't know exactly what you're doing. It sounds simple enough on paper, but one wrong move and you've ruined an entire batch of finish. I remember trying to DIY a small accent wall back in Chicago a few years ago using a similar method, thinking I could just eyeball the tint. Big mistake. The color ended up looking patchy and uneven, like a bad spray tan. If you're going to mess with colored plaster, you have to be precise. Don't wing it.

The bottle should be here around noon. $3.00

Yeah, I'm with you on that. My entire room is painted exactly like that.🙂
People who always use their looks as an excuse in Psychology ·
Tyler Myers5 said:Oh, please, 🙄
if she is beautiful, she doesn't necessarily have to be dim-witted or naive. And honestly, nobody can take advantage of you unless you let them. 😁
Sure, maybe just smiling is enough. 😂 I mean, what kind of normal parent would tell their child, "You're pretty, so just sit there and smile"? 🙂
There is just so much prejudice against attractive people.
I think I've encountered more brilliant beauties than dumb ones, actually. 🙂

A parent won't, but society sure as hell will. And the worst part? That attitude works well enough for a lot of things early on, so it becomes a habit. That’s exactly where the real trouble starts.
