I wouldn't say I’m absolutely terrified or anything, but man, having that massive needle poke right into my vein? Not exactly my idea of a good time. Still, knowing that my blood might actually save someone's life makes that little sting totally worth it.
If you’d just told me you were heading my way, I would’ve definitely said yes. I'm actually sitting right here in my office, and honestly, I live right above the clinic anyway.
Melissa Castillo said:I don't have ANY GODDAMN PAIN RELIEF in the house, not even an Advil 😢. I tried drinking ice water but the pain just won't budge. Then I remembered someone saying you can fill cracks with toothpaste, but I don't see how that helps... honestly, at this hour, I don't know how I'm supposed to call my neighbor without her husband thinking I'm a freak or something. 😱
Just take a walk around the neighborhood and see if any lights are on. Clearly people aren't sleeping, so just go knock on a door and ask.
Honestly, just knock on your neighbor's door if they're still up and see if they have any painkillers, or just send your boyfriend over to the nearest 24-hour CVS. Sometimes splashing some cold water on it helps, too. You seriously don't have anything for the pain? What about Aspirin?
Scott Howard74 said:Not sure if you saw my DM, so I'll just lay it out here. Look, Pfizer doesn't manufacture this stuff—it's basically one of those old-school home remedies everyone knows. You can take it orally, but if you're going the rectal route, you absolutely have to coat it in Vaseline first because it ruins your vision. Seriously, I might end up popping an eyeball out here... 😂
I’m strictly an espresso guy. No milk for me—it completely messes with the flavor profile. If there isn't espresso on tap, I'm just not drinking coffee at all because everything else is pretty much garbage. I stick to one or two shots a day, and honestly, from what I’ve read online, that amount is actually great for you if you're healthy. It's pure fuel. Plus, hitting an espresso right before a workout is a total game changer; it acts as a massive stimulant and makes my training sessions feel way more intense.
Honestly, this belongs under the heroism and valor thread. The fallout really just boils down to how much skin players have in the game. The higher the stakes, the faster people are gonna bail, and that’s when the sting hits even harder.🙂
So my mom was just telling me today about how she managed to drop her cholesterol from a crazy 9.6 down to a 6 in just two months. It’s wild. She didn't touch any meds, hasn't even started hitting the gym, and she’s 70 with a lifetime of cholesterol issues. Basically, she just cut out all the junk and sugary stuff that spikes levels and replaced it with more chicken, fresh fruit, veggies, fish, and other healthy staples. Plus, she used this one supplement that she's convinced did most of the heavy lifting. Here’s the recipe: 10 oz sunflower seeds 10 oz pumpkin seeds 10 oz sesame seeds 10 oz flaxseeds 5 oz cinnamon
Just mix everything together, grind it up real fine in a coffee grinder, and she takes 2 teaspoons of it every single morning.
From what I’ve gathered, most of the water in Washington, D.C. comes from artesian wells. We're talking about underground water flowing right beneath the city itself.

Haha, how do I know where you live? It’s literally right there in your username, man. I actually spent a summer out in rural Montana once because my ex had a cabin out there.
Richard Stanić. Back when I was in my 30s, he was the one who finally caught my astigmatism—and we're talking a massive cylinder here. Honestly, it wouldn't even surprise me if I hadn't gone in for enough checkups, whether they were full physicals or just eye exams, because nobody else ever mentioned a thing, even though I've been wearing glasses since I was 18. But him? He nailed it on the first try.
coastalnomad9 said:Look, I get it. You need to hit the gym and all that. But honestly, I don't even have the option because there isn't one in my neck of the woods. I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can easily pick up some weight plates.
No way there isn't a gym in Kiowa? Seriously? Taking protein without working out is basically throwing money down the drain. It’s not even going to be half as effective as if you were actually lifting weights. Just try making something yourself out of concrete, old car parts, or whatever else you can dream up.

You're pretty smart, Styler, but you're definitely Confused. 🤷
So apparently there's a massive difference between natural and synthetic vitamins. I've heard the rumor that synthetic ones are useless without natural components, but I was chatting with a pro working in pharmacology recently and they told me straight up: that's just not true.
Like I’ve said before—any device running on electricity (TVs, microwaves, speakers, light bulbs, etc.) emits radiation. Some more than others. I’ve already posted about how even dead materials emit stuff—think mouse pads, cheap mice—those low-end ones from overseas are made of some sketchy plastic where your hand turns red after just thirty minutes—or even PVC window frames. If you've ever worked with PVC, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I’ve actually seen how that stuff is manufactured. It’s basically waste plastic being ground up and molded into a product. Now, look, that doesn't mean PVC window frames are dangerous for people just living in a house with them, but for the workers handling it all day long? It can't be good. It's just like wearing polyester—it's not a natural material, and it isn't smart to be wearing it against your skin.
Oh, come on. Plastic emits radiation? As far as I know, plastic can hold a static charge, but I seriously doubt it actually "emits radiation." If your hand is turning red, that sounds more like skin irritation or some kind of reaction to the material itself. Maybe it's low-quality stuff leaching out unbonded monomers or whatever additives they toss in there, or maybe it's just a personal sensitivity to that specific type of polymer.
If you're really going to claim it's radiating, then walk me through the science. How does this radiation even work, and what kind are we talking about? Electromagnetic? Radioactive?...
stormyheron4 said: they have a huge impact, they lower capacity...
Do you know where I can grab some? And is it better in capsules or liquid form?
People say liquid is the way to go. I picked up some Weider body shaper powder, I think $56, at Joker. If you aren't from Miami, I can't really help you out with finding a shop. Maybe someone else can tell you where to find it in your neck of the woods.
Thomas Moore4 said: Can someone tell me how much smoking actually affects running? Besides the fact that it's unhealthy...
It's a huge deal. It tanks your lung capacity. Carbon monoxide from the smoke binds to your red blood cells, which kills their ability to carry oxygen. On top of that, nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. It narrows your blood vessels, making it even harder to get oxygen and energy to your muscles. Plus, flushing out metabolic waste becomes a nightmare. Basically, you're going to run way shorter and weaker than you actually could. If you want to quit, check out the dedicated thread on that. You’d be doing yourself a massive favor. I honestly thank God that I quit. Now my training is on another level and I can breathe deep. I used to smoke a pack and a half every single day for over seven years.
Regarding L-carnitine, people are split. Most will tell you it's a waste of money. A lot of research suggests it doesn't do much. But for some people—myself included—it works. Without it, I'd have a hard time even finishing an hour of running. I'm sitting at 258 lbs and I've only been training for a month after an eight-year break. I tried running without L-carnitine, and I wasn't even close to the performance I get when I take it. My advice? Just try it and see if it works for you. From what I've heard from others, it helps some folks until they build up their stamina, then the effect fades. I take 1 gram before I run, and I also take it when my muscles are sore. I've noticed that if I take it then, the soreness clears up faster.
