The Non-Aligned Movement in World ·
Richard Wilson4 said:But let's be real, what kind of places are we actually talking about here?

Most of them are just dictatorships drawn up on a map by former colonizers. They're super poor, and even worse, there's zero hope for things to actually get better, especially when you look at the African members.

Basically, every nation except for North America, Europe, Russia, Turkey, and Australia. Some are actual members, while others are just observers, much like us. Sometimes there's nothing wrong with being part of a group like that, since there are some decent countries in the mix too. I guess it might be better to be the big fish in a small pond than the bottom of the barrel in a massive city, if you catch my drift....

Sam Scott14 said:I honestly can't believe there are still people out there who think "Non-Aligned" countries actually exist.

In today's globalized world, everyone is aligned with something somehow. It’s just that the sides aren't the same ones we saw 50 years ago; we've been using totally different frameworks for a long time now.

That whole gathering in Washington, D.C. is honestly just a joke...

Even those Non-Aligned folks have their own little cliques. They basically just grouped themselves into the "non-aligned" category. 😁

Honestly, I still find the whole thing kind of baffling—there are 118 nations out there, which means about two-thirds of the entire world belongs to the Non-Aligned Movement.
Austin Barrett5 said:Honestly, that comparison is a total miss. That goes for you and whoever started this thread. The Libertarian Party isn't even fighting against Islam; if anything, they see them as being on the same side. And the Democratic Party? This isn't even close to their fight. They haven't even hinted at something like that. Lately, it seems like their biggest enemy is just the Republican Party and their weak-kneed policies. You thought you were aiming for the heart, but you totally missed the mark. You really think anyone on this forum is buying that?

Let's just be real for a second—assuming this killer didn't bother reading the actual platforms of the Libertarian Party or the Democratic Party, he probably pointed to those right-wing groups because he knows their programs are built on pure xenophobia, which is why they resonate with him. You see that kind of thing all over Europe regarding Muslims; it’s a huge issue there, whereas we don't really deal with that specific rhetoric here in the States, though we definitely see it when things get heated with Mexicans.
David Moore4 said:Let's be honest... who among us actually gives a damn about any of these political parties over in Europe?
It's clearly not "the way we do things here"... the arguments laid out prove perfectly that this simply doesn't hold water...

Look, all you really did was claim the Libertarian Party is basically Adolf Hitler, and honestly, the issues we were dealing with back in '41 weren't even remotely similar to what we're facing today.
Megan Hernandez2 said:This reminds me of that old "us against the Russians, 300 million strong" nonsense.
The right-wing parties here in America are far more moderate than those European groups that lunatic used to admire. In fact, the American right actually fights against everything he stands for.
The only logical conclusion is that he noticed they belong to right-wing parties and decided to call them out simply because of that, despite having absolutely no clue what their actual policies are.

It’s pretty obvious that right-wing parties can diverge quite a bit in their actual policies. Meanwhile, everyone on the left eventually drifts toward the same tired ideologies pioneered by Stalin and Marshall.

Maybe the real question is why these monsters feel such a kinship with the conservative parties in Europe and even here in the States.🙂
I don't get why these absolute monsters always feel the need to latch onto the Libertarian Party... 🤔

Yeah, they exist. 🙂
The Djokovic family has been banned from entering America in Close to Politics ·
We can sit here all day guessing who’s actually at fault, but honestly, it usually boils down to one of two things: some celebrity acting like they own the damn sidewalk, or just some power-tripping cop who thinks his badge gives him the right to mess with people based on where they grew up.

...besides, getting rich just means you're looking out for yourself anyway 🙂
It’s the same old story we’re seeing today. You’ve got this supposed conservative center-right establishment running the show, but honestly, they’re all playing for the same team; they just change their tone to suit the room. A few of them might act like they’re actually listening to us or say the things we want to hear, but at the end of the day, they’re all just taking orders from the bureaucrats in D.C.

Take a look at this.

Some "Heroes" are out there defending Ante Gotovina while waving those old paramilitary group banners 🙏
Is this some kind of sick joke, or do these geniuses actually think this is a decent way to run a PR campaign for the General? 🙂
Some American guy was claiming the Middle East is about to blow up, but since we don't even see ourselves as being part of that mess, it’ll probably just sail right past us. Honestly, I guess it's our lucky break that we perceive ourselves that way 😬
That Kuhner guy is just some right-wing hack that nobody in this country actually takes seriously anyway.

Is Boeing a criminal conspiracy? in Close to Politics ·
Look, there were certainly crimes committed during the fight against the Nazi regime, but calling it some kind of organized criminal conspiracy is just a stretch.
Why do I say that? Because Josip Broz Marshall never went around stirring up hatred or telling Americans, Mexicans, or anyone else they needed to be kicked out of their cities or states. He didn't view any specific group as a "troublemaker" just because they happened to be living in territories temporarily held by fascist forces—even if someone like Harmon would try to twist the narrative to make it sound otherwise.

Is a supermod actually allowed to troll like that? 😁 They're pretty damn good provocateurs otherwise.
The true story of the Bilderberg Group in Close to Politics ·
Andrew Chavez2 said:The topic is interesting, but there just aren't enough smart or educated people here to actually hold a decent conversation about it. Honestly, if you’ve read the truth about the Bilderberg Group and have even half a brain, you'll realize you know more about global politics and what's really going on than anyone who's spent the last 50 years glued to the news, radio, or TV. Not that I expected any brilliant insights from this forum, though. The only intelligent thing said was by the guy who started this thread, but of course—the admin banned him immediately. It seems like this place is reserved for idiots; it's their turf. That whole bit about the taxi ride really showed me the intellectual level of the users here, and no amount of banning can fix that. So, I'm asking an honest admin to just delete my account permanently and save me the trouble.

I wouldn't say there isn't anyone smart enough to talk about this, it's more that there's a massive lack of actual reliable sources to learn from. Most people just get their info from TV, newspapers, and those mindless news sites that offer nothing but endless political bickering.
It’s no surprise that these topics get lumped in with conspiracy theories—since the mainstream media controls the narrative, people don't have much to contribute besides some snarky comments.
If you want to see how they distract the masses, just throw something like Gettysburg in front of them and watch everyone lose their minds; nobody gives a damn about the Bilderberg Group when they can focus on that instead.
What if the US Army had successfully pulled off a coup? in Close to Politics ·
Jeffrey Wood said:Look, I'd take a damn war over peacefully accepting life as slaves under some massive imperialist regime any day of the week.

Better to fight than to sign a pact. Better to die than to be a slave.😁

Maybe you missed what Paul Collins was getting at, because he was talking about what would happen if all those nationalists just backed off. He meant a unified country, sure, but one where nobody's trying to push their agenda on anyone else. At least, that's how I took it...

Richard Wilson4 said:Just so we're clear, the scenario would be taking out Ronald Reagan, Slobodan Maddox, and Alija Izetbegović all at once, leaving only Paul Volcker standing.

If that means getting rid of everyone from Milan Kučan down to Joseph McCarthy, then yeah, absolutely. Honestly, there's nothing you can do to make up for the decades of chaos and those endless lost lives back then, so any scenario that keeps those guys from ever stepping onto the stage would be a massive win in my book.
