QUESTION NO. 4

Which action star, who also happens to be part of The Expendables cast, is featured in this picture, and which movie is it actually from?

-

I'm going with Jet Li.

Honestly, I haven't got a clue which movie this is.

Look... I whipped all this up pretty fast last night so... maybe I should've insisted on sending answers via PM... but honestly... it's better if everyone can see everything... plus... nobody's guaranteeing those answers are even right anyway lol😁😁

Also... like David Price5 said... there'll be plenty of different challenges coming... this one was just a warm-up hehe...

Anyway... moving on to the next task...

QUESTION NO. 2

How many differences can you spot in the image below? It is extremely important that you do NOT mark, describe, or mention them! Just find them, add them up, and post the total number. Tomorrow, I'll confirm how many differences there actually are and point out where they are.

So, I actually watched this like ten days ago, but honestly, I just couldn't be bothered to sit down and write anything right away, and then it kind of slipped my mind, so here I am finally sharing my actual thoughts now that they've had some time to settle.

*** Warning! - Do NOT read this if you haven't seen the movie yet because there are definitely spoilers ahead! ***

It’s not bad, and honestly, it's way better than the third one.

The whole concept is really well thought out and executed, and I had a blast watching it, but I can't help feeling like Shrek is starting to feel a little bit played out as a character, or maybe the studio just didn't have enough creative spark left to pull off a massive hit like Toy Story 3 did?

I'm not saying Shrek Forever After is garbage—not at all, it's actually pretty good and I genuinely enjoyed the ride. The plot is solid, though it could've used a little more punch (even if it does lean a bit into that Back to the Future vibe), but the setup is there, so there's definitely some excitement to hold onto.
I walked away feeling pretty satisfied, especially since the third movie was such a letdown, so this felt like a real return to form, even if I've got a few gripes. For instance, what were they thinking with the Cat? They totally missed an opportunity there; I just wasn't feeling his direction at all. I get that it fits the specific plot needs, but I just can't wrap my head around him being this chubby, non-combative version of himself. Plus, I was expecting those witches to cause way more chaos for Shrek than they actually did, and the main villain felt a little underwhelming too, but overall, it's fine.

Just saw it... Justin as Boo-Boo?!?

He’s definitely got some serious connections if that's how he landed the role. It’s honestly wild! 😳😠

I just can't wrap my head around him being in this, seriously; to me, he doesn't even project a masculine vibe. Does he actually have any acting chops? I find it hard to believe he's playing Boo-Boo because, honestly, a character like that deserves way better talent than him. If you can even call him an actor, I feel like he's more just someone who uses their connections to slide into whatever movie they want to be in.
Honestly, the stuff coming out lately just isn't hitting the same because they lean way too hard on being stupid for the sake of it, and they’ve totally lost that certain spark they used to have.

Back in the day, parodies actually felt like they were crafted with some genuine creativity, though if I'm being real, maybe we're all just getting a little burned out on the whole genre anyway, don't you think?

Did you know they actually banned Michelangelo from using nunchucks over in England?
It sounds totally bizarre, right? Like, they aren't even allowed in R-rated movies or adult films...
That’s why he ends up swinging that spaghetti later on instead...

They even swapped out "ninja" for "Hero" because apparently calling them ninjas was considered way too aggressive at first... 👎

Have you ever checked out this animation about the turtles?

Eric Jackson68 said:It’s honestly a bit of a shame they didn't just go full animation... I have my doubts about how this is going to turn out given all those recent attempts at making a live-action Garfield, but even so, I still find this looking better than that Smurfs flick.

The posters they've put out are actually pretty great.

Honestly, I don't even care if it's fully animated or done this way, as long as the movie actually turns out decent, I'll be a happy camper.

And man, compared to the Smurfs, this looks sooo much better.

Man, I absolutely loved this cartoon when I was a little kid, so I'm seriously crossing my fingers that they don't totally screw it up and turn it into some crappy, low-effort movie.

Even now, Yogi Bear is such a hilarious character to me, which is why I’m really hoping this flick manages to be just as funny and genuinely entertaining as the original Yogi cartoon shows.

Yogi Bear is hitting the big screen!

Can you believe it? That classic cartoon about those troublemaking bears from Jellystone Park is actually getting turned into a full-length feature film!

It’s going to be this wild mix of live-action and CGI animation, all directed by Eric Brevig, you know, the guy behind "journey to the center of the earth."

This lovable little bear first popped up in those Hanna-Barbera cartoons back in 1958. So, Yogi lives in Jellystone Park with his sidekick Boo-Boo, and the two of them are always getting into mischief that drives Ranger Smith absolutely crazy.

For the voices, we're getting Dan Aykroyd as Yogi, and get this—Justin Timberlake is doing the voice for Boo-Boo! Plus, Anna Faris (from "dark film" and "bunny in college") is joining the cast as a reporter heading to Jellystone to film a documentary about the bears.

The whole thing is set to premiere on
December 17, 2010
.

The wait is finally over because I finally sat down two days ago and checked this movie out.

I’ll be honest, I had some pretty high expectations going in, and for the first 15 minutes or so, I was actually thinking, "Man, this might be a total letdown." But then, minute by minute, my opinion just kept shifting for the better, and the movie honestly felt like it was getting better and better as it went along.
By the time the credits rolled, I was totally blown away—I can say for sure it actually exceeded what I was expecting!

I really dig the concept, even if it isn't exactly groundbreaking and feels like something we've seen in classics before (you know, stuff like Species, Alien, Gremlins, or Resident Evil...). The plot and the storytelling are super engaging, and it just kept pulling me in with that classic cinematic feeling where you're dying to see what happens next, which is always a huge win when a movie manages to hook you like that.
Director Vincenzo Natali really knocked it out of the park here, even though I was initially worried the movie might take a turn for the worse with too much mindless violence—but thankfully, that didn't happen at all. The casting for the three leads was spot on, with Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, and Delphine Chanéac all delivering fantastic performances, while the supporting cast was a little weaker, though honestly, it didn't even matter that much. Brody was great as Clive, and I have to give massive props to Delphine Chanéac for her role as Dren; she was incredible, and the whole creation of the character Dren was just brilliantly thought out.
That twist at the end? Absolutely brilliant! It was so atmospheric and intense, with a bit of a creepy vibe that I loved, and I'm especially stoked because they teased a potential sequel—but I won't spoil how that works for those of you who haven't seen it yet!

All in all, this is a really solid Sci-Fi Horror Thriller that I am definitely planning on revisiting sometime in the next few days.

amberwalker4 said:I totally agree.. it's one of the best scenes, if not the absolute best, in all the Shrek films🙏🙏🙏

Since we’re already talking about the GOAT moments in the Shrek movies, I just have to share my personal favorites:

Shrek 1 - that first moment when Shrek and Donkey meet, especially when Donkey won't stop chirping away while Shrek just sits there looking completely miserable.... 🤣

Shrek 1 - when Shrek and Donkey finally roll into Duloc, and then Donkey starts trying to belt out a tune again, only for Shrek to whip around and go, "What did I say about the singing?" 🤣

Shrek 1 - right as they're trekking toward the castle to rescue Fiona, Donkey turns to Shrek and asks if he was the one who just farted, and Shrek just hits him with, "If that had been me, you'd be dead right now." 😂

Shrek 2 - when Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey are heading to Far Far Away and Donkey keeps being a total pest, constantly asking if they've arrived yet 😂 and then that part where he suddenly passes out and Shrek and Fiona both jump out of their skins! 🙏

...man, there are seriously so many more. 👍

I’ve already been hearing whispers that a new Mortal Kombat movie is in the works, and man, I am absolutely stoked about it! 👍

I’ve been a massive fan of the Mortal Kombat games and movies for ages, and honestly, if this turns out even half as good as I hope, it’ll easily land in my top 5 films that I'm most hyped to see between 2011 and 2015.

But hey, I’m a bit confused—some of the posters are throwing out a 2011 release date, yet IMDb 2013 says otherwise... so does anyone actually know when this thing is hitting theaters?
The A-Team (2010) in Movies ·
Honestly, there’s nothing groundbreaking here—it’s not even particularly fun, so I don't have much to say other than it’s just your run-of-the-mill action flick that works if you just need to kill some time.

The acting? Pretty rough. The plot? Kind of a mess. But hey, it’s decent entertainment if you turn your brain off, and the action scenes aren't half bad. All in all, it’s a fine enough movie, though I gotta admit I’m feeling pretty let down because I was really hoping for something way more substantial.

I’ve no clue how much longer Shrek 4 will be playing in theaters, but right now it’s sitting at $369,779,432. Honestly, that’s not a bad haul at all, but am I the only one who doubts it'll actually top the massive numbers from Shrek the Third, which pulled in $798,958,162, or even Shrek 2, which was an absolute beast with $919,838,758? At the very least, if things go well, maybe it could tie or even beat Shrek 1, which brought in $484,409,218.

🙏Looking back at the box office numbers for each entry in the Shrek series, man, that figure Shrek 2 hit—$919,838,758—is just mind-blowing! Seriously, what an incredible run for a movie.

I’m still holding out hope that Shrek 4 shows up on a decent DivX rip soon so I can just grab it online and watch, though let’s be real, I’ll probably just jump straight to downloading the 720p HD version immediately. DivX has been such a lifesaver over the years, but it’s definitely fading into history, isn't it? Still, thanks for the good times, DivX! 😁

Ugh, man, that is such a bummer! If you really want to track them down, I can shoot you a private message or a DM letting you know where to grab them—just hit me up in the PMs or let me know right here if you're interested.

I’ve got the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy in 1080p, which honestly looks twice as good as any old DVD.
Same goes for Rocky—I have every single one of those movies in 1080p too.

I have Blade Runner in H.264, and while I've got The Terminator on DVD, I have the sequel in H.264. I also have Avp 1 and 2 in H.264, but all those other ones from your list? I've just got them in DivX.

*

Man, I’d really love to find a decent DivX or H.264 version of that old historical documentary about the Battle of Gettysburg, because the version I currently have is just terrible—it's a grainy old VHS rip, and it's honestly unwatchable since the audio keeps crackling like someone's constantly crushing walnuts, and the picture looks like a fuzzy broadcast from an old TV with zero signal.

Solid topic, honestly nothing but praise here! 👍

I mean, you really could have kicked things off with a proper intro before just diving straight into whatever was on your mind, but hey, no biggie, it’s all good.

redmarlin27 said:My movie list:

1. Star Wars 1-6
2. Lord of the Rings 1-3
3. Blade Runner
4. Rocky 2-6
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
6. Last Crusade
7. Total Recall
8. The Terminator 3 and 4
9. Avp 2
10. Planet of the Apes

Lord of the Rings 1-3 😕 Wait, you don't have those movies?

Are we talking like, you don't own any of these ten films at all, or do you just have them sitting around in DivX and you're looking to upgrade to something like DVD or high-def? 🤷

Bryan Davis8 said:We need a fifth one, man. I’ve been digging around to see if they're actually working on a fifth installment. Anyone know anything more about this?

Man, I am totally with you on that—give us a fifth Die Hard sequel already! 👍

Back on May 5, 2010, word got out that the X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The A-Team writer, Skip Woods, was in talks to write a fifth Die Hard movie, and the whole thing was set to be produced by Alex Young. On top of that, Bruce Willis was slated to return as John McClane, and apparently, Willis mentioned he’d love to have the Live Free or Die Hard director, Len Wiseman, back behind the camera too. There was even talk about moving the action outside of the US with a placeholder title like Die Hard 24/7.

A solid 6 out of 10 for me.

I honestly felt like they went way overboard with all the deep explanations and philosophical waxing; it really would have been better if they just stuck to "less is more," you know?

As for the animation—which is clearly styled after Japanese anime—it’s just not my vibe at all, though I'm definitely not saying it was poorly executed.

The cast is great, though.

But honestly? I just don't see how Americans are going to turn this into a hit movie. God bless 'em, I guess...

I gave it the exact same 6/10 rating.

The animation is actually pretty impressive when you consider this is the first animated feature coming out of the US, and honestly, a huge part of the quality comes down to the budget—just look at how much they poured into WALL-E, like $180 million!

The actors are top-notch.

Why wouldn't they nail it? They've got the cash, so their version is bound to blow you away—if not through the story, then definitely through the animation itself, for sure.
