I was just wondering if people on this Forum actually get karma from clicking the Thumbs up or Thumbs down abuse buttons? And I guess, would it be possible to let someone click either one once per day for any given user? 🤣
So, when I'm on the forum homepage and click on a thread marked like it is in this image, it takes me straight to the very last unread post, which might be way out on page 20 of some massive 459-page discussion. But then, if I'm looking through one of those PDFs and click on a topic from there, it jumps me right to the last page, specifically page 459, even though the actual last unread post was sitting back on page 20. I guess I'm just wondering if there's a way to click on any given topic and have it actually take me to the most recent unread post, instead of being stuck with this weird setup where the homepage only offers one specific thread per PDF. I don't really get why it works this way, or what the logic is here.😕
so, when I’m hanging out on the main forum page and I click on a thread marked like this in the image: it just takes me straight to the very first unread post.
but then, if I'm digging through some PDF and I click on a thread like the one shown here: it seems to open up either at the very beginning of the thread—if I hit the title—or way at the end if I click the last page.
I guess I was wondering if there's a way to make it so that when I'm using a PDF, clicking any thread would just land me right at the most recent unread post instead? 😬
(feel free to crop the screenshots if they're too huge)
Thanks! I think I’ll hold off on reporting anything just yet since it might not even be the same person—unless they're just using a different handle, I guess—but if I catch anyone else doing this from here on out, I'll definitely flag them.
here I am with a few more questions 😁 I figured I’d just drop them here instead of starting yet another thread... lately, I've been getting hit with all these private messages inviting me to join these brand-new forums, and honestly, it’s starting to get on my nerves quite a bit :/ is there actually a way to make this stop, or am I just stuck dealing with it?
I think I have a question too 😬 Someone started a thread about Metallica a couple of months back, covering all sorts of random stuff. I replied to them, basically just pointing out that there’s already a dedicated music thread for that kind of thing. Well, that person ended up deleting their original post, and since my reply was the very first response, my comment got bumped up to become the opening post. Now it looks like I'm the one who started this whole thread. Here it is Is there any way to get this deleted? It’s just sitting here looking pointless since I didn't actually start it. 🙂
I've got two questions regarding how things work here: first off, when we pick up yellow or red cards, or accumulate penalty points, it shows up in our profile under infractions—it even tells us when they expire. But I'm wondering why old ones, like something from way back in 2009, still linger on the list even after they should have expired? And my second question is about the inbox: if someone hits their limit—say, between received and sent messages, reaching that 75-message cap—and then they happen to get issued some points or a card, is there any way they'll actually be able to see that 76th message containing the explanation for the penalty? thanks 😁

In a real job, there isn't much use for it, honestly. It feels more like a student version meant for classroom exercises. You can solve problems, even some fairly large ones I suppose, but I've always been told it's just something you use while you're still in college; unfortunately, nobody ever really showed us what comes after that.
As for linear programming, here is a basic example of how it works:
It honestly drives me crazy, too—seeing people acting like they’re still fifteen years old when they’re clearly well into their twenties and dealing with the exact same issues 😠 I suppose they’re probably still riding that high 🙄 right up until the honeymoon phase inevitably dies down and they’re forced to face reality 🤣
I mean, once you're hanging out near Central Park, there's just no way to miss it 😁 it’s pretty obvious right away, so I guess there isn't really any issue on that front 😁
Henry Edwards33 said:Nah, the maximum DPS is $250 per year. It doesn't matter how much extra you dump into savings; the amount stays capped at $250. And that’s only while you're actively saving—once you stop contributing, the DPS stops too. It’s just like what Steven Reed mentioned: "the government isn't incentivizing credit through these funds, they're strictly incentivizing savings."
Well, I'm aware the cap is $750 annually. But if I happen to save, say, $16667 in a single year, wouldn't they owe me the full $750 for that year, plus some additional amount $250 every subsequent year until those excess funds above $1667 are eventually "used up"? At least, that’s how I understood it from the legal wording...
So, if I'm understanding this right, the DPS only actually pays out during the term of my IMF loan or my mortgage, and that's only if I happen to pay in way more than those $1667 throughout the year? Then they just roll that extra amount over into several years of those $250 every year for whatever I "overpaid" beyond the $5,000 mark?
