What does our music taste say about us?
in Music ·
Obviously, what someone listens to says a hell of a lot about them, provided you actually look at the context. I mean, if a guy doesn't listen to anything, you can bet your life he’s probably deaf. But if he isn't, there's almost certainly going to be that one song he holds dear, and that single track tells you everything you need to know when you first meet him. Even if he’s spinning through a thousand different bands, that matters too because it gives you a window into his actual sensibility. And honestly, sensibility is everything; it’s the bedrock of how a person views the world, shaping their whole outlook on love, friendship, politics, and all the other heavy stuff that actually matters. The music you consume doesn't just reflect who you are—it actively molds your perspective. So yeah, I'm convinced that what people listen to is a massive deal.
