Everyone’s got different experiences... different needs... different ways of looking at or understanding the world... ...no big deal... your opinion is yours... ...you don't have to read them... it's fine... I'm not some novelist living off a fan base... ....we're just swapping ideas here .... 🙂 😉
...that deep-seated need to really connect with someone... the more you can understand each other, the better... ...and then there's the physical side... that pull, the chemistry... however you personally experience it... ...it’s these two needs coming together... humans are wired to be social creatures... (it's hard to be alone if you aren't terrified of everyone else)... plus that drive for intimacy, which is really about reproduction and just having a partner... ideally, you find someone where the gears mesh—interests, values, perspectives... and when you add that physical spark into the mix... huh... it feels heavenly... ...but honestly, most of the time, you only get a piece of that puzzle, not the whole package...
...and I see people who are already in relationships, but they aren't getting that full spectrum of what they need... they end up glancing sideways... wondering if they'll ever find their "dream" match... ...some people just linger on the sidelines... too afraid to jump into something new because they've been burned before... ...they just settle for crumbs... ...usually, things like marriages, engagements, family legends, or even old tragedies don't actually stop love from happening... ...the real barrier is a lack of love itself... it's that internal calculation... weighing whether it's actually worth investing in a relationship... and that's where the battle is won or lost... that's the spot where true love disappears... it turns into nothing but selfish needs and fear... the fear of being a failure, or looking foolish in front of someone else... like looking into a mirror... and suddenly, those "crumbs" feel like a colorful lie... ...someone who truly loves doesn't live in fear... they tear down the walls of prejudice and don't give a damn about what the neighbors think... ...there are no obstacles except for that hesitation, that moment of weighing the risks in the eyes of the other person... ...that's the only real hurdle to love... ...once that person starts calculating the cost, or starts turning away... that's when we go blind... ...because when you're hurting, you lose sight of everything else... you're just searching for a way out... a cure... anything to make the ache go away... ...in my 72 years, I haven't had a single regret about falling in love... or about loving someone deeply... why should I repent or feel ashamed? Why should I call myself a fool just because I gave my heart to someone?... ...I think the only thing that would truly make me sad and empty is if I reached a point where I couldn't love anyone anymore... Love... it's just part of our DNA... it's what makes us human...
I’m guessing we’re looking at some kind of underlying issue or maybe even deeper psychological struggles here... I mean, at the end of the day, everyone wants to feel happy and relaxed... it’s just that for some people, it isn't that simple to get there.
There are just some people out there... total racists... I honestly can't deal with them. I try to engage, you know? I really do try to have a conversation, but they just get under my skin. It's like I already know exactly what their excuses are going to be before they even open their mouths. It’s exhausting. That stubbornness, that complete lack of actual logic... it's just awful. Now, I don't even bother. I just steer clear of them entirely.
It’s one thing when someone uses their degrees or their fancy job title just to get ahead, but it’s a whole different level of low when they actually weaponize that knowledge to screw someone over or cause real damage...
Kevin Bailey2 said:People like that just come off as incredibly pretentious. I know plenty of folks like them—people who genuinely believe they’re somehow superior to everyone else, almost untouchable.
I steer clear of those types. I'm not the kind of person who’s going to chase anyone down or try to convince them to care. If you show me once that you aren't interested, that's it. I’m not wasting my energy on you.
edit—well, unless it's an extreme case. See, my husband used to be exactly like that back when we first started dating. But with him, putting in the work actually paid off. It took a long time, though, to finally break through his shell and get him to be real with me. I mean... he’s still full of himself and thinks his intellect is basically unmatched by anyone on the planet... but he has these good qualities that outweigh that whole "I'm invincible" attitude. So, yeah... I love him anyway.
......man, I once knew a guy who was exactly like your description..... ....totally stuck up and obsessed with his own ego...... ....it wasn't like he wasn't smart.....or well-educated..... .....but he acted like he was God's gift to the world......even though he actually seemed a little insecure... almost shy, really... .....later on, I realized it was all just a massive fear of failing..... ... and that's exactly why he thought he could just boss everyone else around whenever he felt like it... .....he didn't have an ounce of respect for anyone..... .....everyone else was just there to serve him..... ....and it made me wonder..... .....was he actually intelligent ...... ...or just someone who spent way too many years in school ... ...without ever learning the actual important things in life....
Roger Rodriguez said:Honestly, if I had the choice, I’d much rather be with someone managing schizophrenia than someone battling an incurable, terminal illness that can't be controlled with medication. It makes me wonder: why are people so adamant about avoiding relationships with those struggling with mental health issues? Is it the fear of the responsibility, like making sure they stay on their meds, or is there a deeper fear of being harmed? After all, you don't need a diagnosis to hurt someone, do you?
At the end of the day, an illness is an illness... whether it's in your head or your body... and we all have something we're carrying... or something we will eventually deal with... ...The only way I'd walk away is if the person refused to get help... and let's face it, I can live with a lot, but I can't live with someone who won't take care of themselves... just like how I wouldn't want to ignore a broken tooth...

The title says it all. Throw out whatever ideas or theories you've got. 😍
Think about all animals... humans included... we tend to instantly recognize any shape or silhouette that looks like a potential threat...... ...maybe that's the answer... or maybe it isn't...🙂
says: Alright, I’ll admit this topic feels a bit discriminatory, but it’s also incredibly real, and I honestly think it’s a pretty "interesting" question to pick apart.
Let me give you a specific example... I have a neighbor, she's a really cute and genuinely sweet girl 🙂, but there are actually two cases of schizophrenia in her immediate family—her mother and an uncle. Since we know this kind of illness can be hereditary (at least in most documented cases), would I date someone like her? To be honest, I wouldn't... partly because of her, and partly because of the chance our kids might end up dealing with it too (if things even get to that point 😁). With all due respect to people living with these conditions, I just wouldn't knowingly enter a relationship with someone who is currently ill or has a massive, looming risk of becoming ill. Now, I realize it's a totally different story if you're already in a committed relationship, everything is going great 😍, and then you suddenly find out some heavy details...
.... watch out for those with schizophrenia.... because once you're busy battling Hepatitis C or kidney cancer..... you really don't need to be managing someone with schizophrenia too...... you'll be stuck constantly checking to make sure they're taking their meds ...... and even when you pass away, who's going to look after them?....
That’s exactly why my circle of friends is so small—I can't just bottle things up. I know I’m not the only one who struggles with this, but for me, it creates this sense of inhibition and an actual aversion to most people, which just keeps shrinking my social world. 😕
In my eyes, there is no such thing as an "average" person; you're either genuinely good or you're completely warped, deeply corrupt... (and let’s be honest, the "corrupt" ones tend to outnumber the good ones). If you catch my drift?? 🤷
For instance, I was at a friend's birthday party recently, and there were some people there I just couldn't stand—even though I was meeting them for the very first time 🤣—but whatever. I ended up just getting up and leaving early, making some excuse about having a headache.
I realize I come across as spoiled, but sometimes I simply cannot tolerate certain individuals.
Does anyone else feel this way? How did you deal with it??
I knew someone like that once... but he passed away shortly after... He was around 76 and just incredibly tedious... terribly nitpicky... nobody ever seemed good enough for him... wasn't even particularly hardworking or smart... the only person he actually liked was himself... he spent all his time lecturing everyone and being discriminatory... people say he only turned out that way after he hit his seventies... and he was senile, too... ...he died at 78... totally alone and bitter toward everyone and everything...
There are so many little things that just make me feel at peace... Like tonight, I had this moment of pure happiness while driving past a pasture where some cows were out in the dark... and as I passed them by, I couldn't help myself. I actually said, "Good evening, ladies," to them. They just stopped what they were doing and listened. It was like they were actually paying attention to my rambling. And I just looked at them and thought, you know, you guys are such wonderful animals... so warm, so kindhearted, and so incredibly trusting. It’s almost sad how people take advantage of that sweetness, yet you all just keep giving everything you have without any bitterness. They really are beautiful creatures... and I feel lucky I got to see them tonight... though I sure hope someone else caught a glimpse of them too...
I live in a massive US metro area—we're talking four million people here—and honestly, I feel like you rarely run into anyone who actually stands out for being uniquely themselves. Most of the folks who seem to pop out from the crowd at first glance are either struggling with some kind of internal issue or they're just kids trying to figure out who they are, so they put on this temporary persona just to see how the world reacts... it’s like testing out a costume to see if it fits. Then you've got the ones who are just pathologically obsessed with being the center of attention, but let's be real, those aren't "special" characters either... they aren't truly charismatic people. ...the real deal? There are so few of them... incredibly rare... or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
You see cases where someone was basically raised to believe the world owes them everything they ever wanted... and then they hit a wall when they realize that "no" applies to them too. ...they just don't respect other people. They move through life thinking everyone else exists solely to cater to their whims.
...I was talking to someone about a case involving the assault of a sex worker.... ...and he actually argued that it wasn't even rape. His logic? He claimed it’s just her job, so she’s obligated to serve him. He thought if she refused, he had every right to just take what he wanted by force. ...this guy, let's call him Mike, was such a total mama's boy. He did whatever his mother said, and she treated him like he was the center of her universe—but honestly, she was just using him for emotional support and money. ...he used to get so worked up at her for dating anyone after his father walked out on the family... though he could never actually admit that was the real issue. Instead, he’d just act all indignant toward these random guys circling his mom, acting like they were beneath him when they really weren't. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an Oedipal complex at play here... who knows. ...but he exclusively sought out sex workers or girls who had a string of short-lived flings and seemed a bit flighty. ....He never truly grew up. To the public, he was charming and smooth, but underneath that veneer, he was just a deeply frustrated, angry man.
Jesse Sullivan2 said:People always say "less is more," but honestly, everyone’s the same everywhere. Still, I always get caught off guard by how Americans react when public sector unions start pushing back. Most people just shrug and go, "Oh, what do they want now?" or "Must be nice, they've got it made, why aren't they keeping their mouths shut?" Instead of actually standing up for them—you know, backing these unions up while they go toe-to-toe with the folks in D.C.—everyone just pushes them to the sidelines. They get treated like these greedy, lazy types who are just looking for an easy ride. Maybe it's just me, but man, I find that totally wild. If I really had to choose between supporting a union or saving a few bucks on some government facility, I'd honestly rather see the whole administration collapse than have a union worker's demands ignored... Where does that mindset even come from?! I mean, look at the French—they take to the streets and will fight tooth and nail if they have to, while we sit here calling people fools just because they're fighting for workers' rights. It isn't even about which political party you like or whatever. I'm just trying to figure out the collective psyche of this nation, especially since we're the ones constantly getting the short end of the stick. Were we just conditioned this way? Is it somehow baked into our DNA?!
It's that old-school, patriarchal-feudal mentality... ...where the lords do whatever they please... and the peasants work themselves to the bone for nothing more than a thin meal... rebellion is seen as a disgrace, and we end up hating the very people who revolt... simply because we still feel like we belong to that feudal system... we're actually afraid of freedom and independence... ...we mistake being beaten down for "love" or "care" from those in charge... ...it's like that dynamic in an old-fashioned marriage... where one side thinks, "they can treat us however they want, whenever they want... because we belong to them."...
I really think we need to take a hard look at everyone else involved in this crime... because let’s be honest, there were plenty of them. Fritz was clearly the one pulling the strings and committing the acts directly, but all those others? They were helping him along the way. ...If we assume the wife and kids were also being psychologically—and probably physically—abused by Fritz, and kept under his thumb through manipulation, which is a huge factor here... well, it still doesn't excuse her going along with the cover-up. That makes her a participant in the crime too. ...Then you’ve got the police, who basically looked the other way and turned a deaf ear to everything happening in this case. And what about Child Protective Services? How did they even approve an adoption without checking if the mother actually wanted it, or trying to find the woman who showed up three times to leave her kids there, while the police somehow "couldn't" track her down? ...And don't forget the neighbors and people living nearby. Some of them likely had a hunch, but Fritz was such a terrifying figure that they just stayed quiet.
...I’m convinced this man didn't just stop with his own family. He wasn't capable of leaving it at that. ...Of course, nobody is going to come forward and talk about it. No one wants their name dragged through the news cycles because of their connection to such a notorious criminal. ... ...I mean, where does this kind of evil come from? It's a heavy thought. But then again, how could it not exist? Is Nazism some unknown concept? Patriarchy hasn't just vanished into thin air, and capitalism certainly isn't some perfectly moral social system. ...
Sean Cruz said:I'm inclined to agree—it's nothing more than a raw struggle for power.
.... no nation actually rules....not a single one......instead, we are governed by insidious swindlers...liars, and frauds....we are ruled by the Jeffrey Dahmers of every race and creed...... cold-blooded, egocentric sadists.... those who despise everything around them...including themselves.....those who will offer public repentance without ever truly feeling a shred of remorse.....those who see even an apology as a way to extract profit..... ....they are perpetual deceivers......deceiving even themselves, because that is their fundamental flaw..... they have no sense of self....and never have.... Jeffrey Dahmer spat on his mother, his wife, his children, and himself....... while constantly lying to himself, pretending he was the master of all.... his gaze is that of a man who only feels alive when he is controlling and attacking, because that is his entire essence...he exists only through aggression and dominance...like a predator ..if you strip away his ability to control and attack.......he collapses into a pathetic, terrified wreck....a beast trapped in a tiny cage... ....he would tear his own throat out if he were denied his power and the ability to strike....
I can certainly agree with all of that, though I'd argue he didn't just delude himself into thinking he was in charge—the unfortunate reality is that he actually held total dominion over other people's lives. No punishment could ever be sufficient for someone like that.
....he spent his life wrecking other people's worlds.....inflicting pain.....breaking them in every way imaginable......tormenting them and stripping away their dignity......but let's be real, he was never truly a master of anything...... because at his core, he never actually became a conscious human being...... he never developed that fundamental awareness of others, or even a sense of self...... .....fear and hostility essentially stunted that part of him from ever growing (even if he managed it in other areas).... he just stayed paralyzed by this fear that eventually curdled into pure hatred and destruction toward anything and anyone standing in his way.... he's basically just a tangled knot of fear and resentment..... and there’s zero chance he’ll ever change.
....I’m convinced he didn't just leave one trail of victims behind..... he was incapable of having any kind of healthy relationship, and he'll always be stuck in that cycle..... a constant state of fear and perpetual warfare against every single individual he encounters.... ...he's just playing games... he doesn't actually realize what he's done..... he's just constantly calculating how to wiggle out of a trap,, how to outsmart the system and squeeze out some profit,, or how to ambush and annihilate whatever—or whoever—is in front of him.
....you can tell so much just by looking at him....
...and as for punishment..... for a guy like him, it isn't really a penalty.... it's just an extension of the battle he's fighting..... a fight where he won't surrender, or relax, or reflect, or finally see the truth until the very last second... ...he's forever on guard.
Sean Cruz said:I suspect he was actually referring to Edgar Allan Poe's biography and suggesting Poe himself was wired that way, which is why I asked him what he was basing that on. Sure, Poe had his demons, but he wasn't some predator. It honestly irritates me when people jump to conclusions without knowing the facts.
Look, the Holocaust is JUST ONE OF MANY CRIMES, but it gets all the branding. What about the crimes that get swept under the rug or simply tolerated: Hiroshima and Nagasaki, colonialism and genocide globally, the destruction of Dresden, and of course—the occupation of Palestine?
I agree; far too much focus is placed on the Holocaust while other atrocities (which are by no means smaller) are ignored. It’s all just marketing. Read that book I suggested. It was only after reading it that I truly understood the reality of the situation in Palestine. And I have to admit, there have been moments where I found myself thinking how brilliant Adolf Hitler actually was. 😁
It isn't even about the lives lost during the Holocaust... ....because people were dying there from all walks of life... Romani people, Slavs.... communists.... Jehovah's Witnesses.... and so many others.... it's really just about finding ways to rack up points for future profits.... to get a grip on someone's neck so they can control and rule them...... it's pure enslavement and looting.... .... no actual nation holds power.... not one single one...... it's run by sneaky con artists... liars and frauds.... it's run by the Jeffrey Dahmers of every race and nation...... cold-blooded, ego-driven sadists.... the kind of people who hate and despise everything around them.... including themselves..... the types who will publicly repent but never truly mean it or feel it in their hearts..... those who see nothing but an opportunity to turn tragedy into profit..... .... it's always a scam...... because they're trying to con themselves, too.... which is the core of it all..... they have no sense of self.... and they never did..... Jeffrey Dahmer spat on his mother, his wife, his kids, and himself....... all while lying to himself, pretending he was the master of everyone else.... his eyes have that look of someone who only feels alive when they are attacking and controlling others... that's all he is...... he's only himself when he's lashing out and dominating... like a wild animal ..if you take away his ability to attack and control.......he turns into a terrified, pathetic mess.... like a caged beast ....he'd end up biting his own tongue off if you stripped him of his power to control and strike out.....
Honestly, regardless of what you want to call it... therapy isn't what this guy needs. What he actually needs is to get out there, put his head down, and work his tail off to provide for the kids he’s responsible for. He needs to face reality and realize that he’s just a human being who actually has the power to pull himself together and stop the cycle of damage he's been causing...
The stuff he did is just gut-wrenching. It’s terrifying how much this is going to mess with his children—kids who didn't do a single thing wrong to deserve feeling this way. Being raised by a father like that is like carrying a heavy weight through hell for the rest of your life...
ironowl3 said:Take a look at my previous post; I also just read that his control over her grew with every child, yet he kept coming up with all these pathetic excuses claiming he was actually saving her.
Yeah... he only said those things to make himself look like some kind of saint. The way he claims he was being "merciful" by not killing her... man, that tells you everything you need to know about how he sees himself. He thinks he’s the master of life and death.
That isn't an excuse; it's a diagnosis and a massive red flag. It’s right there in that statement—it shows just how deep his depravity and his warped mind really go.
